I love it when fandom shows me that it's worth so much more than petty wanks and stupid flamewars - I'm referring to
fandom_charity here. Not that I think people need any kind of incentive to donate money, in particular when tragedy strikes at such a scale like we saw this past week, but it's a positive side of fandom that really pleases me anyway. It also gives people who really can't give money a way to join in the effort - one will give time to write something and a recipient will give money in return to an organisation - nice joined effort, here, and it works, too *g*
On a different note now, can you imagine that tomorrow is New Year's Eve? Well, I can since some of the preparations started today already. We'll have the Clan coming over so we'll be thirty-ish. I know we'll spend a great and funny NY's Eve, but I'll be honest and say that I wish we just had a quiet night. I'm not used to 'big' celebrations for those festivities. When I was a kid, my dad would always work that night, so it would be just my mom, my sister and I. We did have a special night though, just nothing big: mom would prepare a yummy meal, she would ask us both what dessert we wanted and we would bake our respective favourite dessert together, then we would dress a beautiful table and have our dinner in our little company of three... finally we would watch those cheesy movies they always air at the time. When midnight came we'd watch the fireworks and watch some more movies and that was it. Nothing fancy but I loved it anyway. Another New Year I positively adored is the one I had with
babycakesin last year, between just the two of us *g*
Yeah, anyway *g*
I was downloading some scanlations and listening to BBC radio on-line tonight [Murder on the Orient Express --how I love that story-- and The Archers, which I always enjoy no matter how lame I sound btw. And how cute is that that after staying away from The Archers for ages the first episode I listened to tonight had some sweet Ian/Adam moments?] and since I wasn't exactly doing anything at the time, I decided to do the Survey I saw popping up in my flist here and there.

Dude - is there any way to change that nasty white on white thingy? *winces*

Date: 2004-12-30 11:06 pm (UTC)Dude, if I had any idea as to WHAT happened and WHY it happened and suddenly turned to white on white, I would have changed it right away, believe me! As it is, I have no idea why it did. It picked my default colour, ie the one I'm using for my entries and I can't change that one, because otherwise, the entries would suck, I think...

I got your card! So cool! I'm going to thank you on my lj but I'm trying to maintain radio silence until I finish this story that's due Monday. Obviously I'm failing miserably.
our new shipment of software came in, so G. brought one home for me for you *bg*. I'm going to sent it Monday. (late Christmas prezzie, or early Valentine, you choose :)
Okay, I'm really going away now. Have a wonderful New Year!
