Can Somebody Help Me?
Sep. 18th, 2005 07:52 pmFirst things first, Happy Birthday,
misanthrope7842! Hope your day was fantastic :-)
Back to the subject now - when you'll hear what I have to ask, you'll find it so lame - well, if you know Tru Calling, that is *g* So. Does anyone have the opening theme and would be willing to YSI it to me? I usually don't have that much luck with my requests here but if I stop asking, there's 100% chances that I won't get a reply, right?
Also, I'm still enjoying the series - and it doesn't hurt that Eliza Dushku is so gorgeous. How can anyone be so hot? And for the record, her lip gloss has me in a trance. I'm mesmerised by her lips... I think I need to seriously think of buying the DVDs because her French voice might be okay but her real one is so sexy and I wouldn't say no to more sexiness on her part. Yes, I'm completely inlust love with that woman, why do you ask?
Speaking of DVDs: season 1 of Oz has been released in France! Or it should have been, at least. I went to the mall yesterday and while I was searching for Kaamelott - totally thought it was the 14th when, in fact, it's the 28th *facepalm* - I found a list of the DVD Release for the month of september and Oz s1 was in there! For the 14th, even. The pleasant surprise was short lived though as I couldn't find it - neither at Virgin nor at Carrefour [well, I had to try somewhere else, right?] - and when I went to amazon I was told that the item was out of stock for now but! It's becoming more real as time passes. Now, I just have to be patient, season 2 will be mine before I know it! Kinda.
Unrelated now - hey! There were two episodes of SG on Friday? I downloaded 9x09 then heard some confusing stuff on my flist - confusing for me, obviously - so I decided to pay a new visit to torrentspy and pay attention this time and lo! The torrent for 9x10 was indeed there, waiting for me. Fancy that. And er... is the show now on hiatus, btw? Damn, this is something I'm really slowly getting used to. When I watch the shows as they air in France, I never have to suffer the Gazillion Hiatus they're subjected to... we have the seasons in one go - they'd better, I mean, we already wait several months to have the thing, we wouldn't be happy campers if we had to stop mid-season! - and it's heaven. How long will it last?
Oh! And I stumbled upon an episode of Joan of Arcadia yesterday and really enjoyed it - I'll have to try and catch more if the series in the upcoming weeks.

Date: 2005-09-19 01:00 am (UTC)Be warned - SG1 ends on a humungous cliffhanger. I really hate SciFi for that; if their show is good enough, people will come back for more, and if it's not, a cliffhanger won't bring them back. They're jerking their viewers around by the short hairs for no good reason.
And I enjoyed both seasons of JoA - you'll have to decide for yourself about season 2 - but it was too "thinky" for the holy 17-34 male demographic and that's why it got cancelled, IMHO.
Things like SG1 cliffhangers and thoughtful shows getting cancelled because they don't appeal to one narrow segment of the viewing public are why I'm watching so little current television. House on Tuesdays (but I can take it or leave it) and Numb3rs on Friday, as well as SG1 on Friday (but I can take or leave that, too.) Desperate Housewives on Sunday, but only for RB. For the rest, it's DVDs of old shows, and Nick at Night or TVLand, which also plays old shows. Pathetic.

Date: 2005-09-19 10:16 am (UTC)I'm curious about s2 now. I'll have to be patient. But I can totally see a series getting "too thinky" and getting cancelled for that reason. The demographic you mentioned is pretty picky re:what they want, and sadly "thinky" isn't always in the picture...
