I had a nice and relaxing afternoon + evening with tbf!Sandra - sunbath at the park then little visit to the mall where I treated myself with a nice DVD box set. Which brings me to my next point:

Hey guess what I'm watching right this minute? State of Play! With John Simm, wheee! And with Philip Glenister at one point in the story, apparently. Can't wait to see them together on screen *bounces* Heee he's here! The Gene Genie! Only not, but you know what I mean *g* And Cal - John Simm - is on his way so they'll be together soon? Oh too bad, they're not together yet. Oh well, I'll wait? And I'll stop the live commentary, promise lol State of Play is really interesting and quick paced, I'm so not regretting purchasing it.

Keeping with the brit!show theme, I've watched Hustle 3x04 and the episode was priceless! Hustle goes Bollywood! Man, that was so much fun! The musical scene has to be a new favourite in the history of Hustle favourite scenes :-)

Also, I liked the double twist in the ep: I mean first the same con run twice and then how the mark completely changed. It was a nice development, and such a surprise too. It's my favourite episode of the third series so far - and I know, we're only four episodes into it, but whatever!

For the record? And also for the umpteenth time: omg but Danny is so bloody CUTE! Did you see him with his little plants? He was so sweet lol Aww, I adore the man *happy sigh*

And the ending? *laughs* Danny is incorrigible! Dude, he so deserves another caning! And how much do I love it that when I'm mentioning Danny and caning, I'm actually referring to something that is canon? Oh yeah, a WHOLE LOT *eg*

I love my shiny show :-)

And speaking of shiny, I really liked the new episode of Prison Break - which shouldn't come as a surprise since I'm a sucker for backstory episodes. And I certainly got my wish, didn't I?

I really enjoyed the Michael-Lincoln storyline. It felt weird realising all the sacrifices Lincoln had made for Michael. And you know, I owe the bloke an apology cause, well, sometimes? I really thought he didn't care that much. I mean, no, I never doubted the love between them, just - well okay, let's just say I had some proof here. Speaking of which, the paper crane story? Made me melt! The story behind it is just brilliant. I think I need to get my hands on an icon with it now cause it sums up their relationship so wonderfully. And dude, Michael kept the paper crane in his drawer! He'd kept it all these years - awww!

And we got to see the creation of the Wall of Obsession! We got to see it from the very first pic that was picked for it and that was awesome. It also brought me those scenes when we see Michael obsessing about The Plan and I've always been curious about how it came to life, so that was another hit.

Something else I loved was the Sucre/Maricruz backstory. Could they get any cuter? I don't think so! I love those two together, they're just too sweet for words. I'm not commanding Sucre on his intelligence re the store thing but I don't even care because Sucre is love!

C-Note now... man, I felt so bad for him. I've never thought a lot about him, one way or the other, except that I was interested in his relationship with his wife and daughter - someone who loves their family that much couldn't be that bad, could they? Don't answer that - and, I don't know, maybe it was a bit Too Much, the whole soldier in Iraq thing, martyr and stuff, but it was efficient in the sense that it felt like the poor guy was a victim of fate. He's not a murderer, he's not a rapist, he's not a thief... he's just someone with a conscience and a lot of bad luck. Never a good combination.

As for T-Bag, well, like I was telling [livejournal.com profile] thelana, I didn't believe for a second that his speech at the end was sincere, I thought it was one hell of a great mind fuck on his part and it made me like the guy even less, ie it made me love to hate him even more because, dude, blaming someone else for your actions? Way to look like a loser in addition to everything else!

He was seriously creepy and crazy and if his storyline was supposed to make him sympathetic somehow? It sucked. And seriously, why would they want us to feel sympathy for him? They just have to own up to their sick character - don't try to make him look less evil, or else what's the whole point of making him that way in the first place? We're not taking about redemption here so what's the deal? He's a creepy psychopath, I like him that way *shrug*

The one thing I miss in all my downloads? The previews for the next episoded at the end cause I'm always curious to see them and I never have them...

OMG DANNY BLUE IS IN STATE OF PLAY! *dies* There's Marc Warren in there! Yeah okay, stopping now but eek, I didn't know Marc Warren appeared in that show!

I amuses me that this episode effectively made every paper swan icon a Michael/Lincoln icon :D

Hu ? Amoureux ? Ah ! Ca me ferait rire.

sunbath at the park then little visit to the mall where I treated myself with a nice DVD box set.

Days like that just truly rock, don't they?

About Hustle, what amazes me is, the thing is in its third season and it's just as good (if not better) as it was in the beginning. I mean, with a plot like Hustle it'd be very easy to get repetitive and boring, but that just isn't happening here and that? That is love. Also, Danny is so freaking cut it's unbelievable. *nods*

I'm a sucker for backstory episodes.

Backstory episodes are the best and this one sure was a prime example of the awesomeness.

He's a creepy psychopath, I like him that way

Word. We likes our T-Bag crazily evil, mkay.

I didn't know Marc Warren appeared in that show!

Dude, I think British shows are almost as bad as Canadian ones with its incestuous nature. The same actors in everything. *g*

Those days are love!

I so second everything you said about Hustle. I was thinking the exact same thing during that particular episode - Hustle rocks! *fangirls her show like whoa*

Creepy T-Bag lovers unite! lol

Seriously, Brit tv is even more incestuous than the Canadian one and it's saying something!

Take a look:

Philip Glenister and John Simm both worked together in Life on Mars, and in the past they worked in - at least - two other shows together, State of Play included.

John Simm played in LoM with Marshall Lancaster and in the past they both played in The Lakes. The Lakes where John Simm worked with Paul Copley who guest starred in LoM. Then you have John Simm's character's father in LoM who also guest starred in Hustle.

In Hustle you have Marc Warren who also played with John Simm in State of Play, and who will apparently guest star in an episode of the second series of Life on Mars - as well as the new series of Doctor Who.

And dude, I could play that game forever! lol I love Brit tv ;-)

...

Oh all right! Yeah, it happened to me once too lol I completely forgot to watch an episode of SG even though I'd been waiting for that particular episode all week. So it does happen. But still mostly to other people.

Maybe they were so dirtybadwrong (or boring) that we represssed the memory of it!

Date: 2006-04-06 07:16 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com
Good reasoning, that must be it. And I'm sure we were talking about RPS then cause everyone knows how dirtybadwrong it is! And we wouldn't do that, or if we did? We would totally repress the memory of it!

Date: 2006-04-06 07:48 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] moimoietmoi.livejournal.com
Yeah, or we would've been talking about incest. Because that would be totally worse than RPS, right? Oh, wait, not in the SPN fandom!
So, yeah, we must have been talking about RPS... *shrugs*

Yeah, or we would've been talking about incest. Because that would be totally worse than RPS, right?

If you'd followed the last wank in the TS fandom, you'd know that NOTHING is worse than RPS. NO.THING. So I do agree, that's what we were talking about, for sure *nods*
