The Story of the Parcel
Jun. 28th, 2006 12:40 pmHeeomg! I have my own TARDIS! Terri gave me my own TARDIS! God, I have the best friends in the whole universe *melts*
So okay, I'm the one in charge of collecting the mail in the household. This is partly because the parental unit is lazy and just won't do it and partly because they're jealous because I'm always receiving cards and letters and parcels - well, dude, just get your own lj, you know? But anyway, I'm the one checking the mailbox everyday. So that's what I do. And there are two parcels for me. One from amazon which was a long lost item, so yay, and one that comes from the UK and I'm already bouncing because parcel! From the UK! For me, whee!
I'm opening the thing, Mum being beside me and she's all curious and she's like 'so who is it from?' And though all Brits have the same handwriting to me - same thing for Americans, and I guess you'd think we French kinda all write the same way? - I recognise Terri's handwriting, so I tell her so. I also warn her that, considering who's the sender, the pressie might be... a bit of a NC-17 nature? But she takes it in stride and tells me that she knows Terri is the one who usually sends me all those BDSM stuff and just - I love my mother for a gazillion reasons but this is one of them. How she actually remembers that kind of stuff, you know?
Anyway, I open the parcel and OMGSQUEE! The TARDIS! Here, for me! All pretty and shiny and M.I.N.E! And it has speech and sound effects! And a flashing TARDIS lantern light! And opening front doors and omg! *dies*

Isn't it all shiny already?

But it's nothing compared to this. I mean, it's gorgeous!
Hee there are no words for how much I love my bday pressie, sis! Thank you SO MUCH! I've been wanting one of those since the new series aired and I was thinking of trying a keyring or something but this is so much BETTER and more PERFECT *kisses*

Date: 2006-06-28 10:48 am (UTC)I was actually looking for a K9 for you, then saw that and had to have it. When I took it to the post office to send, the counter person asked what it was and I said a tardis, you should have seen her face *g*
Love the story about your mom, btw. She keeps on being the coolest French mom in the world.
I'm so happy you like it. Happy Birthday again, sis!
*smooch*

Really, thank you again, sis! *loves*
My mom cracks me up; how she manages to keep track of all of my friends, both IRL and ICL is beyond me but she does lol

Date: 2006-06-28 12:02 pm (UTC)OMG YES.
my aunt (from Reunion) showed me how they teach you to write letters at school. of course i was a kid then and she never liked me so i thought she was pulling my leg when she said that you HAD to do the 'curly' thing to every letter or you'd get penalised or something.
i completely forgot about this until now. is there a reason why you're taught to write that way?
AND I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU HAVE A TARDIS!!!! *IS JEALOUS*

Date: 2006-06-28 12:27 pm (UTC)Also, they're pretty stern considering the writing when we're in primary school but as soon as we reach middle school, we can, like, develop our own writing somehow... As long as we keep the letters readable, it's okay. Some mix two types of writing in their own writing... just one of those things.
HEE OMG I KNOW! HOW AWESOME IS THAT, UH?

yes that's what my aunt told me once and i thought she was pulling my leg because no one really care how you write in mauritius as long as it's readable, hehe.
