Odyssey 5, anyone?

First a Happy Belated Birthday to Selena - I'm so sorry I forgot about it, mate, it's one of the birthdays I really didn't want to miss but I swear my brain wasn't exactly connected yesterday so this will be my excuse, forgive me? *Dean teary eyed look* Hope you had a fantastic day *hugs*

So. Yesterday. I was one with my bed pretty much all day and marathoned Odyssey 5 til I couldn't see straight. It was so fucking hot outside that I thought I would die and I couldn't move, anyway. I spent the whole day in a perpetual state of stickiness and not the good kind.

Anyway about the show, I still have one or two discs to watch, which is great because I'm really getting into it so it means I still have some episodes to savour \o/

That show... I'm pretty sure lot of people would say it sucks - and it did have only one season but, dude, I'm loving it. I love all the characters and the way they interact with each other. My favourite is Neil. He's the youngest, he's smart, he has daddy issue and big brother issue and also he's Christopher Gorham and I love teh Gorham.

Then it becomes a tad difficult because I don't know whom I love best between Sarah or Kurt. I'm thinking I love them both the same way so let's say they're both #2. Then Angela, though she's really close to #2 - and in the daddy issue department she definitely beats Neil like whoa. And finally there's Chuck. And, okay, Chuck, I have a problem with. He's a cigar smoking, seventies glasses wearing, gum chewing, cowboy hat wearing, ain't saying John Wayne character type and I usually don't give a shit about that kind of character, ie they bore me to death and I don't want to have anything to do with them but, what can I say, the guy grew on me. And that's because of the way he behaves towards his kids - love when he let Neil cry in his arms, he so won a LOT of points in that scene - and his wife, and also the others. So he does have some redeeming qualities.

And they're awesome together; I absolutely adore the whole gang.

Also the plot... I'm still trying to decide whether the whole Sentient thing does have some logic in it but I have the feeling I'll need to watch the whole season twice before making up my mind. One thing is sure though, the continuity is a joy to see in that show. They're always referring to things that have happened in previous episodes and I just love it when writers do that.

After I've watched the series a second time I might even talk about some episodes and know what? I'll pretend I'm not the only one on my flist who even knows the show and I'll cut for spoilers and it'll make me happy :-) Though hey to be fair, I know of one person on my flist who was into it.

I also watched my very first episodes of Grey's Anatomy; twas nice. So far, I'm kinda meh on Meredith, but I already love Izzie and George. Also, when does Denny appear? Do I have to wait for season 2 or does he arrive earlier?

Denny doesn't show up until Season 2, if I recall correctly. Most people are "Meh" on Meredith. It's one of the most bizarre phenomenons - she's supposed to be the star, but no one seems to like her much.

Thanks for the heads up. And poor Meredith! Though it is pretty ironical, considering, yeah. Just one of those things, I guess, but I'd say the writers didn't do their jobs properly with that character if most people are meh about her. Poor main character who's being mehed by the majority lol

I thought I was the only person in the world who watched Odyssey 5. Yes, it was possibly the worst written show I've ever watched. Chuck made me want to throw things at the screen, and the way they left things just made me scream with frustration, but like you I was utterly hooked.

DADDY issues - oh yes, such delicious angst. And Sarah and her little boy - that plot line had me wailing more than once.

I'd sort of hoped there'd be another series, because they left things so unfinished.

Sigh. I don't suppose you ever watched "The Others"? That's another (very very good) show I seem to be the only one who watched. They ended it on a horrific cliffhanger, and it never got picked up again. It was about this group of psychics who met together and sorted out hauntings and possessions and suchlike. It was extremely scary and well written and I quite often couldn't sleep after watching it. *g*

Nope, you're not the only person in the world who watched the show *g* Well, I've only recently watched it, but you know what I mean ;-)

And, yeah, despite the many flaws, I loved it and didn't care. I loved the characters and they made such a great team! Though I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one who had Chuck issues, so thanks! lol

Don't think I've really heard of The Others before - except for the film, that is. But now I'm intrigued so I'll try to find more about it, thanks for that too ;-)

Oh, I absolutely adored Odyssey 5 and was so upset when they cancelled it, especially as it ends on one hell of a cliffhanger.

Neil was my fave too, then Kurt. I did once write some Neil/Kurt, though goodness knows where it is now. :D

I do remember that ep. It scared the hell out of me too, in fact lots of them did. The one where there was something in the wallpaper creeped me out so badly. I was looking at my wallpaper suspiciously for days!

I just wish it hadn't ended like it did. Talk about a cliffhanger!

I can't say I was, like, blown away by GA but it was nice. I don't know whether I'll download the new season once it airs in the US but you never know when a series will suddenly grab you and don't let you go, right? So we'll see... also, I'm kinda curious to see JDM in his Denny role, though we'll have to wait quite a long time to see him here. He looked so very different from Papa, should be fun...

And yeah, reading that comment above, it made me curious about The Others, I'll investigate, methinks :-)
