Something old and something new.

My ankle and I both took a day off today. We stayed home and we rested - teh ankle in particular; it was quite grateful too and expressed it by throbbing less. Bless. Since I had to cancel yet another FP meeting - hopefully this won't become a trend - I comforted myself and did what I do best; a little tv marathon.
So. Stargate 10x03 was watched. The season premiere? Was nice but didn't make me squee per se. The second episode, I liked better. As for the third one, oh the third one, I absolutely adored!
1. Omg the beginning of the episode was soooo good! The Waking of Daniel Jackson was so cute and slashy that my heart almost couldn't stand it. And dude, Cameron is totally used to waking Daniel after having fucked him into unconsciousness, see? Also, nice bedroom voice, that's all I'm saying. And Cam calling Daniel 'sunshine' won't ever get old.
2. How much did I love that scene with Sam, Vala, Cam and Daniel looking at Atlantis through the glass and Daniel staying a little behind to contemplate it a little more? A lot? Wow, understatement of the century! But yeah I was so happy for Daniel! Though, like him, I wish it had been for a different reason that impending doom and all that.
3. Btw, blackBDU!Daniel is the hottest thing ever. He should always wear the black BDUs
3b. And when I say he should always wear the black BDUs? What I mean, all of SG1 should.
4. I loved the interaction between all the characters - it was like a dream.
5. Loved all the Daniel and Vala scenes.
6. Loved Daniel being his smart self and finding out what wasn't adding up.
7. Loved his speech - so heartfelt, so passionate, and so angry too. It was great.
8. I also loved the last scene with Vala when she's trying to cheer him up.
9. And because I can speak of someone other than Daniel - that briefing scene with the two teams was a riot. I'm still not interested in SGA but I was still able to enjoy the whole thing immensely.
10. The little Shep-Cam convo about Rodney cracked me up. Hee Attack of The Citrus! And what cracked me up even more is that Cameron actually used it! lol Though come to think of it, I wonder what was funnier, Cameron using the citrus or Sheppard actually carrying one with him...that was just hilarious.
Oh and just because I love the Cameron and Daniel show, a little dialogue:
C: Okay be good.
D: Good luck. I wish I could go with you.
C: No, you don't.
D: No, I don't.
C: *looks around him* This place is like Daniel Disneyland.
I still love Jack/Daniel, I'll always do but what can I say, Cameron/Daniel rocks my world too. And yes, I love Teal'c/Daniel as well - that's nothing new. And if you want to know? I'm quite partial to Ronon/Daniel too and that's the fault of the PegB comm *nods*
So an old show was watched and a new one was discovered. Yes, it's a hobby.
I decided to give Kyle XY a go. And why did I decide to give Kyle XY a go? Well, because of the title. What I mean is that it caught my attention because the first time I saw it? XY is absolutely not what I read. What I read was more Kyle KY and it amused me and it caught my attention and when I checked out the summary I thought, what the hell, I haven't downloaded something new for the past, what, seven days? Wow, it's been too long, let's do it!
It wasn't a stellar premiere per se, it didn't blow my mind or anything but I'm still catching up with the five episodes that have aired so far because I quite like the characters and I'm curious to see where they're leading. If they even go somewhere...
The plot might not be extremely original but I'm still curious about who and what Kyle is. You can't help but think he's been engineered what with his not having a belly button, not remembering - or is that having? - his past, not knowing anything about the world, his being a super genius and his loving the tub - a tub is like a tank, after all - but a) they could still surprise us and b) even if that's where he's coming from, a lab, there might be a lot more to him than meets the eyes. There's the alien thing that is always ever so popular but meh. So for all that, I'm curious and I'm hoping the show won't be cancelled too soon. I can't help but think of John Doe.
Kyle is very endearing and I love listening to his inner monologues. It's either touching or really funny. Or both.
And for instance, he cracked me up when he met Stephen for the first time - within the context his 'this being was clearly a superior communicator' killed me.
I also loved the change of heart of the Trager family - their way of showing they'd changed their mind about Kyle leaving was really sweet, I thought.
It doesn't have anything to do with the plot but Kyle has gorgeous eyes.
And as a bonus? We had Krycek and Janet! So Janet was just a guest star but Krycek might be more of a regular. Neato. Guess I'll watch the other episodes tonight. After Cold Case though.
On RL news - this house really is a B&B. No sooner had Family's Friend left that my godfather and aunt replaced her. I can't believe tomorrow is his last chemo session. Time flies, I guess. He'll start the radiation around September, I think, so he'll be able to enjoy a little vacation this summer.
