Flist! If you haven't done it yet, you have to watch the premiere of Pushing Daisies, you have to! Even if you end up not liking it - ~~omg why wouldn't you like it, why?~~ - at least you'll have tried and it'll make me happy.

This is gonna be my New Favourite Show - as in, one more show to add to the loooong list of my Favourite Shows. I mean, if you've been on my flist for more than, say, an hour? You'll have realised that I don't believe in 'replacing shows', only in 'adding shows'; well, Pushing Daisies is the newest one.

That first episode got me, hook line and sinker. It's... it's magical, is what it is. Magical and funny and sweet and sad and adorable and just so different from what we usually get on tv. I'm utterly charmed.

Ned is adorable, Chuck is made of awesome, as is Emerson, and Pink & Flower Mural Lady cracks me up. As do Chuck's aunts. Oh! And I love Mr Narrator too! *has mucho love for the whole thing*

I don't know how I'm gonna wait til the show premieres for real now *wide eyes* Incidentally, I need to find myself a PD icon *nods*

And I've also watched the latest Kyle XY and ( this is another spoiler so let's do the lj cut thing again. )

And! I've watched the last three episodes of Doctor Who and John Simm owns my soul! Which, dude, I didn't wait DW to tell me how brilliant the man is; hi, Life on Mars fangirl here *waves* but, still, he was absolutely fantastic in this new role of his ♥ ♥

Before Friday, the last time I'd gone to the cinema was months ago, ie months. I apparently quite made up for it because in the course of the last three days, I went to the cinema three times :-)

Friday night, my cousin came over and we went to see Ootp, which I absolutely loved! Also, watching the film after having read book 7 is quite the experience. I'm hoping to go and see it again, in English this time. Then on Saturday La Globule and I joined The Esu and we went to see The Simpsons. Man, we laughed our asses off - incidentally we adopted the Spider Cochon song and made it our new personal hymn. It was really awesome because the four of us are big Simpson fans so I really enjoyed us going together. And today I went with

moimoietmoi to see The Invisible - finally an English version in the midst of all those French ones - which I really enjoyed too. I wanted to download the film but - ironically enough - I could only find the French version, which isn't what I'm looking for.

Oh and little!Sammy Winchester plays in the film! I was like 'I know that kid, I know that k- OH that's LIL SAMMY!'

Speaking of things I've seen; I've caught up with the last two episodes of Kyle XY and the ending of "Does Kyle Dream of Electric Fish" made me go "noooo wtf, man!" and I can't wait to see where this is going. As for "Free To Be You and Me", it rocked and I love Kyle XY for being openly, canonically gay friendly ♥

Next in line will be Pushing Daisies because I just know I'm gonna love it and I see that people in the flist are already falling in love with it and I can't wait! *bounces*

Something I really, really want? Is to write a fic and use one of FOB lyrics as a title. Each time I listen to their songs I tell myself this sentence or that one would make for a brilliant title... I'll see about that. One of these days. Seeing I'd kinda need a fic to go with aforementioned title, that could take some time *cough*

I've been feeling lousy all of yesterday. Am feeling slightly better today but I sure wish I wasn't at work. And that I could look forward to a whole weekend of sleeping and resting. Except we're leaving Very Early Tomorrow Morning to Bretagne for one of my cousins' wedding. Don't know when we'll get back. Sunday evening, I guess, something like that. I asked for my Monday - that is, I asked if I could have Monday off - but I don't know if I'll get it. [ETA: I did, wheee!]

Tv makes you smart; I'm sure everyone agrees? And Numb3rs even more so, dude. So I've started reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time - which, is awesome, btw - and at the beginning of the book, I'm like 'hey, the chapter numbers are prime numbers.' And they were! I mean, before N3 I swear I wouldn't even have noticed lol And then Christopher - who's such a fascinating character - starts talking about the Monty Hall problem and I was like 'hee dude! That's the problem with the car and the goats and the probabilities!' and just - N3, I love you for making me recognise math stuff ♥ ♥

Changing the subject now. Can you believe

sentinel_thurs is at its 200th challenge this week? 200, dude! I still remember that day when Terri and I decided that LJ needed a TS comm and we went at it. I don't remember how many mails we exchanged that day but, man, we must have set a new record, even for us lol

Can you imagine SenThurs was actually, like, the first active TS community on LJ at the time? Or one of the very first... there were practically no TS comm then. It was bloody sad. And I almost didn't have any TS people on my flist either. Did I mention twas sad? Things do change, though, eh? :-)

Oh and I've watched the new Kyle XY and I'm enjoying that new season so much! Okay so nothing new under the sun but still... ( Cutting this as it might get spoilery fast. ) So anyway, still having a lot of fun with that one :-)

1. I'm seriously behind in my reading-actual-novels but since I moved in the flat I've picked up aforementioned reading so I might catch up, eventually \o/ Atm I'm reading Life of Pi by Yann Martel and if you're looking for something a bit different, I'd definitely rec that book. I'm halfway through it and I don't know whether I want to rush til the end or make it last as much as possible. All I know is that I absolutely adore it and now I want to read more of Martel's work. I think I'll pick Self next.

Though before that I need to give Michael Nava a try *nods* Hee so many novels to read!

2. This is the time of the year when I'm - again - contemplating joining challenges even though I know - me and the rest of the universe, maybe - how bad I am with them. But! The last challenge I tried was a success since I finished the fic I was supposed to write and I'd love to turn that success into an actual trend. Of course, I'm also running the risk of actually cancelling said success and going back to my usual response which is, well, not to write any.

I think I need to see if I can write the SPN fic for

turps33 first. If I do win at that friendly meme/challenge, then maybe I'll be able to play in a bigger playground.

Possibly I'm thinking too much about the whole writing thing. And possibly I should shut up, open Word and just write something, anything... twould be freeing, that's for sure.

3. I'm up-to-date with both Kyle XY and The 4400 \o/ Incidentally, I think the amount of love I have for Kyle XY is a bit on the ridiculous side... the sad thing is, I don't even care and keep mentally clapping my hands and bouncing each time I watch a new episode. Kyle XY is the deceptive new girl at school. You see her and you think she's very cute and nice but maybe a bit, how to say it, lame. Still, you do befriend her because did I mention she was cute and nice? And then one day you realise there's more to her than meets the eyes and she actually has some depth and also she's a bit kinky and, wow, you never thought you'd have so much fun with her! And you keep going to her because as 'lame' as she might look, there's just something in her that keeps calling to you, that keeps pushing your buttons. And boy do you love it!

People crack me up. So I was cruising some sites about a certain series I've been watching lately and they were talking about an episode in particular. Seems like there was a big controversy about it because of an erection happening to one of the characters. That and, I think, the masturbation talk at one point. That made the episode a controversial one, see? And this is where it cracks me up because people were all riled up about that fact of life whereas they didn't say a thing about that other scene which had a man killing another man with his bare hands. But as everyone knows, talking about sex is much worse and more traumatising than seeing a human being kill another human being.

Anyway. So I've watched the first five episodes of Kyle XY and while I'm still not convinced that this is the kind of show that is safe from sudden cancellation I'm still enjoying it. I think I just love how ordinary the Tragers are - note that ordinary doesn't equal mediocre - compared to Kyle who's extraordinary; and I love how they're basically teaching him what an ordinary and simple life is all about. I wouldn't mind seeing the plot thicken for good but seems like I need to be patient. Though hey Krycek did talk, wow!

Oh and Kyle? Has such beautiful eyes I wanted to share. I was going to do a little picspam then I thought of trying something else. Since we can embed video now, I decided to give it a go. Here is a little clip I made - a favourite scene of mine - from the pilot of Kyle XY. Nothing spoilery but look at his eyes! I just adore the way they shot that scene.

And YouTube truly is love - I've just spent an hour going through Huan Zhu Gege clips - Huan Zhu Gege omg! The series my roommate Delphine and I were watching every night when I was in Beijing! It was our ritual, we were rabid fans. Then the next morning during breakfast I would recap the episodes for the girls, including Babycakes who at the time was someone I'd just met. Watching little bits of that series totally brought me back and ohh that's a lovely trip down memory lane, believe you me :-)

My ankle and I both took a day off today. We stayed home and we rested - teh ankle in particular; it was quite grateful too and expressed it by throbbing less. Bless. Since I had to cancel yet another FP meeting - hopefully this won't become a trend - I comforted myself and did what I do best; a little tv marathon.

So. Stargate 10x03 was watched. The season premiere? Was nice but didn't make me squee per se. The second episode, I liked better. As for the third one, oh the third one, I absolutely adored! ( Not!review here - spoilers for The Pegasus Project )

I still love Jack/Daniel, I'll always do but what can I say, Cameron/Daniel rocks my world too. And yes, I love Teal'c/Daniel as well - that's nothing new. And if you want to know? I'm quite partial to Ronon/Daniel too and that's the fault of the PegB comm *nods*

So an old show was watched and a new one was discovered. Yes, it's a hobby.

I decided to give Kyle XY a go. And why did I decide to give Kyle XY a go? Well, because of the title. What I mean is that it caught my attention because the first time I saw it? XY is absolutely not what I read. What I read was more Kyle KY and it amused me and it caught my attention and when I checked out the summary I thought, what the hell, I haven't downloaded something new for the past, what, seven days? Wow, it's been too long, let's do it!

It wasn't a stellar premiere per se, it didn't blow my mind or anything but I'm still catching up with the five episodes that have aired so far because I quite like the characters and I'm curious to see where they're leading. If they even go somewhere... ( Here be bullet points about the premiere. )

And as a bonus? We had Krycek and Janet! So Janet was just a guest star but Krycek might be more of a regular. Neato. Guess I'll watch the other episodes tonight. After Cold Case though.

On RL news - this house really is a B&B. No sooner had Family's Friend left that my godfather and aunt replaced her. I can't believe tomorrow is his last chemo session. Time flies, I guess. He'll start the radiation around September, I think, so he'll be able to enjoy a little vacation this summer.
