Sammy, Sammy, Sammy...
Jan. 19th, 2007 09:02 pmA Happy Birthday to
admiralandrea, hope you had a fantastic day *hugs*
I treated myself with something pretty today: I have a new necklace... it's simple and discreet but also shiny and pretty and I'm happy cause that's exactly what I wanted *wins*
So hey, SPN 2x11 has been watched. Okay, look. When I watch a show, I do not, I repeat, I do not do it with my slash goggles on. I watch it as it's meant to be and only after I've been on-line and talked with slashers will I twist what I've seen and use the subtext to make things slashy because it's just a lot of fun and that's what slashers do. Having said that, that scene when Sam was drunk on the bed and grabbing Dean's head? I'm sorry but it did feel like he was going to kiss him and, see, this is exactly what happened in "Devil's Trap" during the scene between possessed!John and Dean. Or okay it wasn't as sexually charged as the not!John-Dean scene but damn, there was something there that just made me go "holy shit, Sam tried to kiss Dean!" And then... Dean's roughly shoving Sam away like that? It just - felt like there was a story behind it.
So don't get me wrong, I know it wasn't meant to be incesty but, I'm sorry, I couldn't stop the thought at that particular little moment in time...
Oh and the gay jokes? Apparently won't ever not be funny. And it seems Kripke agrees with us; a season isn't complete without at least one gay joke about the Winchester boys! ♥
Also, the episode was really creepy. Dolls and little girls in old-fashioned skirt and cardigan are evil and SPN, once again, proved it. Twas fun seeing Maia as a malevolent spirit, btw.
Another thing that was creepy is, like, the parallels between those sisters and our beloved brothers... I mean, that particular plot wasn't chosen at random... and it was creepy as hell. And Sam is just like Papa; adding more weight on Dean's shoulders to carry on. How many self-destroying promises one man can make, I wonder?
Also, it's just typical that once I've finished my
j2_otpathon - it's at my beta's since last night \o/ - SPN does something that might weaken my story somehow. I don't know... before "Hunted" and now "Playthings" it was all fine and now... it's annoying because I did start the fic before "Hunted" and actually finished it before "Playthings" but now it's all weird. Or not. I dunno *sigh* Oh well, c'est la vie.

Date: 2007-01-19 08:22 pm (UTC)Dude, totally! (Wow, has my vocabulary improved since watching SPN... :o) )
It's so good to know I wasn't alone in thinking that. And I too watch SPN with slash goggles off (unless they've somehow merged with me, but I don't think so, at least not for this show). It was totally a fic setup - drunkenness, bed-shoving... :D
Speaking of fics, aw, man, sorry to hear you feel like that but hey! congrats for finishing a fic! :)

Date: 2007-01-19 08:32 pm (UTC)Dude, you too? It's not our fault, really, it's all the J2's fault for playing it like that!

Thanks. It just sucks because I would have written the story when I had the bunny and I wouldn't have any doubt. But I had to pick that time to do it et voilà. It'll teach me to write the damn thing as soon as the muse speaks to me! And if it seems to want to stop talking, I'll just harass it til it gives me the words *nods*

Date: 2007-01-19 08:51 pm (UTC)Totally. See - it's canon. It's absolutely canon.
And I'm not usually one to see it in that way, either. I like that slash is rarely, if ever, justifiable by canon...SPN is screwing with me so bad!
But I love it more every time. And I so need to icon that scene.

Date: 2007-01-20 01:20 am (UTC)YES! I agree with everything you said but, this in particular. It was just so...yeah. Damn.
And Sam is just like Papa; adding more weight on Dean's shoulders to carry on.
Seriously. That boy deserves an award of some (preferably incestuous) kind.

Date: 2007-01-20 08:16 am (UTC)OMG, I WAS SO SHOCKED WHEN HE DID NOT KISS DEAN. SRSLY. i was SO SURE he was gonna do it! he was pissed and all but yeah, i suppose the erm, rational part of me knew they'd never be able to do that on the show.
go "holy shit, Sam tried to kiss Dean!" And then... Dean's roughly shoving Sam away like that? It just - felt like there was a story behind it.
and i had to wonder whether or not this was done on purpose. really. i wonder what non-slashers think, O_O.

I love Dean so much and his little bro' too!
Et j'adore quand Dean croit que Sam a oublié ce qu'il lui a promis (le tuer si il vire bad) et qu'à la fin on se rend compte que Sammy n'a pas oublié sa promesse.
The Winchesters killed me.

Date: 2007-01-21 12:57 am (UTC)I was thinking your stories were the titles above. Didn't think twice about eppy titles. *smacks self on head*
Anyway I hope your story works out even with the airing of those two eps.
I hope you are doing well and will try to keep in better contact in the future...and I will promise not to read through my flist while I'm tired and on three other websites at the same time. Ah yes I have a poor habit of opening multiple sites and jumping between them all the entire time I'm online! Oy. : )
Take care! *hugs*

Date: 2007-01-21 02:43 am (UTC)totally agree with the creepy factor. dude, it had SO MANY things. creepy settings. creepy children. creepy toys. creepy grandmother. creepy voodoo servant. CREEPY CREEPY CREEPY!
and yes, The Moment. i'd rewatch it, but i'm scared i'll see one of the creepy things again. but this moment, dude. i think we just all went canon ...
and i hadn't made the link between the sisters and the brothers. actually, i didn't make the link between Rose and Margaret until nearly the end of the ep, it hadn't sunk in that they were really sisters. and yeah, you're right, the parallel is ... well, creepy as fuck. i think the fact that the ep finishes on the spirits, and that they've not been vanquished adds a lot to the
creepinessatmosphere of the episode. it says something, i agree, although what exactly i'm not sure ...no subject
Date: 2007-01-21 01:12 pm (UTC)And yeah, it's creepy when you think of the sisters and the brothers; I quite loved the idea of a parallel between them...
