Work situation still unresolved but I've called and mailed and seen many people and I'm not out the university walls yet - I missed a great opportunity because of Big Boss being his tactless self and it made me a bit angry because it would have been an awesome job but what is done is done. Or not, as the case may be. I had an appointment with someone else this morning - still at the university - and I'll see how it goes.
I've also received the help of a lot of people and I realised I had more friends than I ever thought over there and it made me really happy. Which, incidentally, is yet another reason why I don't necessarily want to leave the place so soon *clings*
Anyway, onto non-work news.
I'm behind many things - Dexter, the last two Heroes, Prison Break, Chuck - but I'm up-to-date with Pushing Daisies because there's no other way for me to be as far as this show is concerned. It's my feel good show at the moment and it's a bit of magic on my telly and I cannot get enough of it ♥ ♥
If I had to make a list of all the things I enjoyed in that episode, it would be endless. I think another reason why I adore that show so much is that it's full of details. It's all about the details. And I'm a detail whore. Pushing Daisies is made of big things and a million of little things and it makes me incredibly happy!
Oh and I apparently never posted my response for the 7 Icons Meme even though
turps33 had picked some for me to play with. Well, in the meantime I deleted one of those icons - great timing! - so I'm one icon short but whatever.
My keyword: Tempt me
I'm a movie!lotr fan. And a Faramir fan. I could tell you when, exactly - ie, the exact scene - I became a Faramir fan but this would be completely off topic so I'll try to stay focused. Still, Faramir is my favourite character in the lotr verse and I developped a sort of crush on David Wenham. Technically, lotrips was my very first foray into RPS. And lotr my first foray into incest since Boromir/Faramir is a pairing I love. Digressing again though, so shutting up now.
The icon. Why did I pick that one. Because it's about Lord of the Ring, it's David Wenham, it's incredibly pretty and I like the quiet intensity of it. The 'tempt me' is almost unassuming but it's there and it's powerful and, incidentally, since I often cave in to temptations, I thought it was nicely fitting.
My keyword: Innocence
This is one of the - few - icons I've made meself. It's from one of my Most Favourite Anime Ever, namely Please Save my Earth. The little boy is Shion, my favourite character in PSME. I love that icon because it's all about innocence - sure, by then, Shion has already gone through traumatic things but he's learning to be a little boy again and he's happy and he's learning again to trust people and laugh and, well, not talking about the anime itself cause I wouldn't want to spoil it should you decide to give it a try but I wanted to capture that little bit of innocence. Which is also why I picked that keyword.
My keyword: Stern!Jim
I just love that icon because it says a lot about Jim and Blair's relationship; they're standing pretty close to each other, Blair has his arms open as if explaining something to Jim and/or trying to convince him and Jim is looking all stern but you know he'll cave in, anyway, or is just pretending to be a hardass.
So technically I didn't pick the icon because of the actual "The Rig" scene per se... but I guess it does work perfectly well, anyway ;-)
My keyword: Sinful
Do I really need to explain?? It speaks for itself, doesn't it?
crazybutsound made the icon and it's mine and only mine! Or it was supposed to, anyway *g* The 'bless me, Father, for I have sinned' line delights me each and every time I use that icon :-)
My keyword: Rule n°1
If you're familiar with the British show Hustle, you'll be familiar with that rule too. If not, well, that's the first - and most important - rule one has to know when ones wants to be a conman. If you don't know that rule, you won't be able to run a successful con, is all. It's also the reason why Mickey and his team were so endearing; because they never ever conned honest people... Anyway, I picked that icon because, even though I don't have that many of them, I really like text icons. Because I like how crytpic they look when you're not in the know. And I know graphic icons can be cryptic too if you don't know which show/film/whatever the people on it are but you'll always find a sort of frame of reference - those are two guys, two girls, there's a kid, there's a car, whatever - whereas with text icons, if you don't know anything about the source, it won't mean a thing at all.
And I'm sure I'm not explaining it correctly but I have a good reason for enjoying text icons, really lol And that's why I picked that one.
My keyword: Size Kink
Size difference is another of my kinks; when my favourite character happens to be smaller than the guy I pair him with, it makes my heart sing. I'm a girl of simple pleasures, sometimes ;-) And Jared being bigger than Jensen - or Sam Dean, obviously - is one of the many, many, many things I love about those SPN pairings. I couldn't resist when I saw the icon *g*
Why, yes, I could ramble about icons for hours and hours!

Date: 2007-10-25 04:24 pm (UTC)My sister and I have DVR, but we've got so many shows on Wednesday night to record that Pushing Daisies didn't make the list. :( So I've resorted to downloading it. And it's brilliant. :)
