Happiness is...
Dec. 8th, 2007 09:01 pm1. Having a day off after two weeks without any and knowing you won't have any for two more weeks. I sound like a broken record these days with all my 'dude, I'm so tired' but I can't help it! I'm so tired! Work is kinda crazy these days and then Winter Job is trying to kill us all. Yesterday I worked from 9am to 5pm and from 6pm to 2am. I looked like a zombie lol I don't know how my dad does it; he sleeps like three hours a night for most of November/all of December *is tired just thinking about it*
2. Going with my mom to a not!tree farm and getting our respective christmas trees.
3. Having the time to meet with the French Posse in the afternoon and going to the theater with them - we saw The Golden Compass. I quite liked it, twas a nice Christmas film. I think I'll go and read the rest of the series now, to see how it's gonna end. And also see if I like it better this time.
4. Getting home and finding a Christmas card in my mailbox. Thank you,
katikat *loves*
5. Decorating the tree and Teh Flat! Very First Time I decorate my place ♥ ♥ Incidentally, I did a little picspam, which I dedicate to
turps33 since it was #8 in her wishlist, IIRC.
The Christmas tree:

It looks prettier IRL, imho, if only because the lights are what make it shiny and sparkly and add many colours to it... also I think I'll go and get angel hair. It usually makes for a nice final touch. And I obviously still need to get the top thingie. Sadly I didn't found any to my liking, but I'm still looking :-)
And, er, okay so my nativity scene kinda looks bare, eh? I could pretend it's because no-one has arrived yet, but the truth is that I actually bought said nativity scene today and I'm still looking for all the 'characters'. Hopefully I will find it before the 24th *fingers crossed*
Oh and as you can see there're already three presents under the tree. The ones on the right are two books I bought for my mother and the Starbucks bag is, well, is for me :-) Twas my Very First Present *loves on Babycakes*
Some of my decorations come from Norway. This one was bought in Santa Claus' house. In June. Because I like to be prepared!

And another 'Merry Christmas' but in French, this time:

My Christmas village:

My coffee table:

The tree was made by my grandfather when my mom and godfather were little kids. He made six of them and I now have one of them with me :-)
Little box in which I decided to put my Christmas cards. Looks nice already :-)

And I also decorate my windows:

Dude, I so love Christmas :-) Despite the crazy schedule, who needs sleep or days off, anyway, right? *yawns*

Date: 2007-12-09 06:03 pm (UTC)If you have shutter envy you should come in France; there're shutters in every single house here. House and buildings; there're different kind of shutters - mine are pretty old-fashioned though they're pretty safe, too, so I like them just fine - and they're just part of the house as much as the windows are.
And you need more rest...
I kinda do, don't I? I'll get rest after the 23rd *starts the countdown*

Date: 2007-12-09 03:40 pm (UTC)And oh, I can't wait to go see The Golden Compass. I love the books and I've been ridiculously excited about the movie since I first heard about it. I'm glad to hear it didn't suck.
Hope you get plenty of rest and soon. ♥

Date: 2007-12-09 10:25 pm (UTC)I never took down the decorations I put up last year, so they're not really Christmas-sy now, they're just part of the general decoration. Although I might get out the rest now that I'm thinking of it. I already have a nice pain d'épices smell in the house ... Yay christmas!
