Feb. 29th, 2008 03:01 pmOh la la, how come no-one told me that every single Starbucks in the United States closed for three hours on Tuesday? I mean, dude, a Starbucks! Being closed! For three hours! On the other hand, it's better that I didn't know; it would have been a bit too traumatic.
Someone else had a bit of a problem with the Starbucks Crisis - as far as I'm concerned, this video might be hitting a little bit too close to home *cough*
Stephen Colbert Handling the Coffe Embargo by the Starbucks Cartel With Aplomb. Or Not.
Oh, hey, unrelated; they renewed my contract at work! So I'm a translator for a little while longer :-) And I could have burst with pride yesterday because I was complimented on my work. I think I did pretty good for a first time \o/
So today I'm back to the grid and I know I'll be translating more documents all week long. Yay, more experience! And more money, obviously *rubs hand happily* I think it's the very first time in my whole life that I earn more than minimum wage. Though it is pretty typical that it's only for a temporary job, but I'm still enjoying the experience ;-)
I also love that I can bask in the Friday glow because I do have a whole week of hard work behind me so I really was looking forward to it! Well, the day isn't over and I'll go back to work after I post this, but you know what I mean. Plus, technically I kinda work during the weekend too, but whatever, yay Friday!
And, dude! Next week, I'll be in England!
PS: Speaking of SPN - London = Milton Keynes = Wincon = SPN - a Friday sans SPN isn't really a Friday *pout* Please, April/May, come soon!

Date: 2008-03-03 04:29 pm (UTC)That was shocking, wasn't it? Apparently the reason was that TPTB wanted to retrain their baristas re: the making of coffee. Or something. I wonder whether there really was a difference when they opened their doors again... or if that was just some PR thing? Do they even need it, anyway?

Date: 2008-03-03 04:38 pm (UTC)Now what's all this about Starbucks?
Starbucks closed their stores all over the United States last Tuesday in order to - according to them - retrain all their baristas.
