So I very rarely have nightmares. I have dreams, obviously, which I usually remember clearly but they're usually cool. Or neutral. Except when I go through these phases where I'll have regular vivid and uncomfortable dreams or downright nightmares that will wake me up in the middle of the night. That's what happened the last two nights.
On Saturday I had two incredibly vivid dreams, both completely different from the other, that made quite the impression. They also both woke me up. I could tell you about them but I usually think talking about a dream in an entry is a bit boring so I won't. And it happened last night too. At 5.00 AM, I woke up. Not in the way you read in stories, though: I just opened my eyes and that was it. Except I couldn't go back to sleep immediately. So I was just resting and listening to the sounds outside. And that's when something awesome happened.
I was there and thinking of all those entries about snow and thinking especially about the call Sandrine had given me around midnight asking me where the hell I was all day because she'd called me to tell me about it snowing in Ecouen and I was so jealous! I mean, I don't care if it snows in the Alps or in Alsace or wherever because it's a bit too far from where I live, anyway, but Sandrine? Doesn't live in the same département as I do, sure, but she's still pretty close. And it snowed there! And not here! That was so incredibly unfair.
So I was thinking about the unfairness of it all as I lay in my bed and then, I have no idea why exactly, but I decided to open my shutters. Which, dude, at 5.10 AM? I wouldn't do on a normal day. Except I felt like it would be a good idea and hee! It so was!
The following is the main point of the entry. It makes me smile now because I could have spared you the 312 word introduction but, what can I say, I just like me some good context *g*
So, anyway:

Snow! And before you start laughing, yes, it's not a lot and it's obviously not going to stay or anything but see if I care! I had snow! On the grass and falling from the sky and oh you don't know how happy that made me! I was so excited that I couldn't go back to sleep, actually lol
Thing is, it hasn't snowed in Choisy in two or three years, I think - not even a snowflake, so yeah, that was awesome and put me in a wonderful mood :-)
ETA: Sweet; Mom and a couple of my friends who were awake around 7.00 AM wanted to call me to tell me about the snow because they knew there might not be anything left later in the day. Except they also thought they might be waking me up, which, yeah, 7.00 AM, when I don't have to get up? They would have. Nightmares aren't so bad sometimes :-)

Date: 2008-04-07 12:00 pm (UTC)And nightmares are no fun. I have two recurring ones: being pregnant and losing my teeth. Wonder what a shrink would say about it ... the worst thing is that while dreaming, I think "oh god, this time it must be real, I wouldn't be having the same nightmare AGAIN!" lol

Date: 2008-04-08 06:46 pm (UTC)I sometimes dream about losing my teeth as well; Babycakes sent me a list of interpretations for that kind of dream, I could see if I can see it, if you're curious.
As for my nightmares recently, there's not really structure. Nothing as 'clear' as losing teeth or being pregnant... I'd need to write them down in order to be able to detect a pattern amind the chaos, I think *g*
