Not so bad for a Monday

Obviously the best way to start a new week would be not to have go to work, but I think starting a Monday with warm pain au chocolat just out of the oven and a cup of yummy capuccino does go a long way to make things sweeter, anyway. That and the fact that we have Summer back today. Those little facts put me in a good mood this morning :-)

Then I realised that we were the 9th, meaning that it was time for spn_j2_bigbang to go live, and then I realised that bandombigbang had gone live already and just - yeah, BEST MONDAY EVER! Between RL and Big Bang, I wonder when I'll have time to sleep. Except, rumours have it that sleep is overrated so I might just stop sleeping.

So anyway that was my Monday morning. As for my weekend, it was great and fun and busy. Among other things, I went to see Sex & the City with two of my girlfriends on Saturday and I really enjoyed it. Enough that I was thinking of getting the DVD halfway through it and thinking of downloading the film while waiting for the DVD to come out.

If anyone knows where I could find a nice copy? I've seen some torrents but I didn't want to go through the hassle of downloading it and get a crappy screener in the end. If you have a sekrit link that you could share with me? Maybe off-lj if you prefer? At mouse.a at gmail.com ? Tia.

I got home late on Sunday, worked a little - because having fun is nice but you need to be reasonable every now and then - then rewarded myself with my weekly dose of Criminal Mind on the telly - two episodes every sunday night. Thank you, TF1.

Meaning that I've finally seen "The Big Game" and "Revelations". I really liked that two-parter, but there's something I with we'd gotten at the end and that's a hug between Morgan and Reid. I seriously felt the lack of a good Morgan-Reid hug during that scene. I felt like they needed it. Or maybe that was just me, but whatever.

ETA: Does anyone know where/if I can find transcripts of the Jared & Jim q&a sessions from the Dallas con? I know where to find vids, but are there transcripts out there?

Oh, I adore pain au chocolats! I remember eating one at seven in the morning, warm from the oven in a small French village near Perpignan when David and I went camping there.

Pains au chocolat is my favourite viennoiserie. I do love me some croissants, don't get me wrong, but pains au chocolats are my favourites...

Okay. So, it's an end of the world fic. People are basically turned into zombies, which Mikey and Frank find out after they decide to drive home together. Gee, Ray and Bob all go elsewhere.

So, they leave the plane, and Mikey doesn't even get to say goodbye to Gee because he's sleeping.

I really want to tell you everything, but I'll try and keep it short. So, Frank and Mikey are road tripping, and when they find out what's happened they decide to drive to the others.

So much dark stuff happens. Mikey has this gun and he has to blow people away. All the while he's going cold turkey from his medication. Which Frank doesn't even realise until Mikey just blows up, saying everything is Frank's fault and Mikey didn't even get to say goodbye to Gee.

The writing style is trippy. If it starts on the right it's now, center it's memories ( mostly Frank and Mikey being friends and just *loves* and to the left it's Frank's hallucinations. Which is important to remember, otherwise things will get mixed up.

Just know there's Mikey being beaten up, Mikey n/c, Frank n/c, pain, anguish, and an end that isn't what you think it is. It's up to the reader to work out which are real, but man, still. Words on the page. It counts.

And just. This is the Mikey/Frank I've been waiting for. Something that gets close to what I adore.

It totally has! Already two days worth of post, I guess? Big Bang is so one of my favourite moments in fandom; like a fannish christmas, except it lasts a whole month and we get hundreds of presents!

You really have to go and see SATC. If only to see if you'll share the love. I really had a great time watching it.

Chocolate overload is nice sometimes! *nods*
