I had a great day today! I spent it at school! Sorta. One of the very bright sides of my job is that Boss Man often sends his minions to all kinds of formations - trainings of some sorts? - to learn about new softwares, new procedures, new whatever is associated with our department. Today was my turn, with another coworker - whom I baptised SexyGeeky Girl. It was about free Open Source content management system and now SexyGeeky Girl and I are officially in charge of co-maintaining our department site. Isn't that awesome? *bounces*

The class was really interesting. Plus, super easy. Not that I'm delusional enough to believe even for a second that SexyGeeky Girl and I won't want to kill someone at one point in the future but, really, it was nothing complex. Meaning that we spent the afternoon tweaking and playing with the system with the rest of the class and chatting and stuff - incidentally, I learnt that SexyGeeky Girl is a fan of Pénélope Bagieu :-) Teh Webmaster - the guy in charge of the training - was really laid back and just plain sweet.

And because it was held near the Sorbonne, I took advantage of the location to meet with a couple of my friends from my former department for lunch. Seriously, it was the most relaxed and fun workday I had in a while :-)

I'm still happy to be back home, mind, because I'm knackered. Time I went to bed last night? 3.00 AM. Ouch! It wasn't 100% my fault this time, though, because I did intend to go to bed earlier than the previous day, except I was reading and completely lost track of the time. When my eyes started to sting and I checked the clock, I had quite the surprise! I'll try to be reasonable tonight. Emphasis on the 'try' *eyes tabbed patd!fics*

Oh and related to the above as it's PATD related. Know how sometimes you'll listen to something without really listening? Well, the intro to Pretty.Odd, We're Starving, was a bit like that. I'd either skip it - don't hate me! - or just listen to it distractedly. But this morning I was, apparently, focused on it and my ears/mind really tuned to the lyrics and ohhhh! But Brendon is actually talking to us! That's absolutely the sweetest thing! I promise I'll always give those albums intro the attention they deserve from now on!

I had so much fun yesterday! And today is quite interesting too, there are many things of interest to do for me here and I'm finally starting to do them, which delights me. There's still basic admin work but I'm also in charge of stuff that really speak to me like co-maintaining the site or a lot of editing and it's really great. I'm hoping I'll do good so that I'm given more of those type of projects *fingers crossed*

I think those "formations" are the best part of working for a university lol I sat through a lot of them in Wellington - it's a good way to meet up new people too *g*

Thanks ! I'm pretty psyched about the whole thing, I have to admit :-) Plus, there's talk of maybe asking me to translate the site into English too. I just need to check the original content and see what I can come up with.
