Okay, first things first :

Forza Italiaaaaaaaaaa

I know, I'm French, but don't forget we're 50%French and 50%Italian in my family --which explains my inner drama queen btw-- so I'm for both teams.

You should see my sister and my cousin tonight. They're both watching the game downstairs --I'm watching it upstairs obviously-- one with the Italian shirt and the other the French uniform. Yeah, well Julien is from the French side of the family so he only has the French outfit, but since it's blue, we let him go away with it lol

I spent the whole day at my grand-dad, then both sis and cous' joined me. Still, I was alone from 11.45 am to 5.30 pm, and with my grand-dad sleeping all the time and being quite unresponsive when he doesn't sleep, I had time to read my book, The Depths of Solitude.

It's official, I can't really consider Jo Bannister's series as suspense and crime books per se because I always find who the culprit is early in the book, so I guess we're actually meant to know who it is to focus on other things --like the character dynamics-- otherwise, there's something missing, really. We learnt about Daniel's past, and I love the man even more now - angst rocks my world, and here one hell of a damaged character *eg* Did I say he was one of the best character ever? Because he is! He astounds me each time I read a new part of this series, he's just... fascinating!

Daniel Hood, I love ya!!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeep! We scoooooooooooored!! YAY!

ETA Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Why oh WHY!

ETA2 Dammit! What about our qualification, man! Think of the qualification!

Well, shit. Doesn't look like that particular book hits American shelves until early December. So, it's good eh? :) I'll have to check out more books by the author, any suggestions?

I am such a fan of the Daniel Hood series - well okay, it's the Brodie Farell series, but I can't help it, even though I love Brodie, I just worship Daniel. He's one of the more interesting character I've read, I swear. I can't get enough of him!

I'd rec the series :

#1 Echoes of Lies
#2 True Witness
#3 Reflections
#4 The Depths of Solitude

Everyone is watching Italy - Sweden tonight. ;)
Except me cause I think sports are boring to watch...not necessarily to play though. ;)

I know! I don't watch football but I had to see the ten last minutes because everyone in the neighbourhood was screaming. ;)
We scored!!
1 - 1 :D

I hate you! Why couldn't you just play fair and, you know let us win? Did you really need to score and get even, huh did you? The nerves of some people, really!

Sis? Are you okay? It's just, I've read this entry a few times and I still can't see any QAF references *g*

I'm glad you're enjoying your books through, even if the situation you're in to read them sucks.

*huge hugs*

Enjoy the match ;)

*blink* You mean I didn't make any? *re-reads* Hey you're right! Wow, I'm so used to making at least one QaF reference that I really thought I had! Life is so odd!

Hmm well, we'll say that since I got myself you-know-what this morning, I could allow myself not to do a reference in this post *nods*

Yeah, definitely sucks - such is life though, right? *hugs back*

I did - until those stupid and brilliant Swedish players decided to get even with us! The nerves! Now, there's a chance Italy won't even make it to the 1/4!

hmmmm....I get a choice? Mocking or defying? Defying or mocking? It's just soo hard to decide...And, oaky, I buy the whistling, but *innocently*? Puh-leeeeeeeeze!

Finally, something that has a vague relation to SG and Jack and Daniel. LOL

I'm a big fan of this series too. The Depths was supposed to be out in May here, but now they're saying November, bastards. So I guess I'll just have to live vicariously. Besides, I've already been spoiled, willingly, by the gals over on SG1HC and Alphagate.

From: [identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com
Know what? My flist is mean! Mocking me and all *pout* And what do you mean 'finally'? Are you implying I've been talking non stop about a brand new show in my life? Do you have evidence?

...

Don't answer that, please.

Lol Okay yeah, anyway. Back to Jo Bannister. I don't think the series was even translated here - thank God for amazon.uk *and* for best friends who know the best presents to give me for my bday *g*

Okay since you've been spoiled, you know there's a Sam involved in the story - well, it's mentioned anyway. It cracks me up! What were the odds that we would find a book where two of the main characters are called Jack and Daniel, and another Sam, even if from afar? lol

From: [identity profile] slb44.livejournal.com
I still laugh aloud whenever I think of the time Jack takes Daniel home with him. It was like a scene lifted from SG.

I can't wait to read the latest book and learn all about Daniel and Sam.

Oh don't expect too much, girl. It's just a detail. I mean, no it's important to Daniel's life, but it's not important to the story itself.

Oh well. It's still neat anyways. I swear this author is an SG fan. *g*

Football + no QaF = me happy *giggles*

And about the result of Italy-Sweden... well... after that France-Croatia, I dare say that even scores are beginning to bug me!

I don't know about you, but I would really, really like a France-Italy finale! (screw you, I'd still support France then *g*)

Date: 2004-06-18 11:51 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com
Will you all stop with this non-QAF in my post thing *pout* I don't talk non-stop about it! I just - you know, talk about it in length and all the time, but it's not the same thing! Or maybe just a tiny bit. Okay, maybe a lot.

Okay, ush! lol

At this point, I'd just like to see quarters of finale with Italy - that's all I'm asking right now *sigh*

Date: 2004-06-19 03:41 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] babycakesin.livejournal.com
To be quite honest, I hadn't even noticed it, but after reading Terri's comment, well, I just couldn't avoid it lol - sorry *g*

Yeah, but no Italy v. France in the quarter finales please, otherwise there's going to be some sad people on my flist *checks UEFA website* oh, okay, there's no chance France plays Italy in the quarter finale *relieved*... And not even in the semi finale - woohoo! *does Snoopy dance* Go France! Go Italy!

ITALY SHOULD HAVE WON. THEY WERE SO MUCH BETTER THAN SWEDEN.

I AM DISPLEASED :O

(WHY did Trappatoni replace both Cassano and Del Piero? They were at their fucking best! You know, it's kind of amusing to me to see Italy play so well now that Totti wasn't part of the team, hahahaha. I love Totti, but the man's got an ego larger than the Pacific Ocean.)

Meh. If Sweden and Denmark draw during their match, Italy can go home. I think it's over for them :|

(Also, I am watching QaF and Brian = pretty. This is not news, but I thought I'd say it anyway :D :D :D.)

My family is in mourning right now! I mean, nothing is done until it's done and all that, but I can't believe we're seriously facing a defeat so soon in the competition! I mean, no 1/4?

And it's not as if Italy didn't have wonderful opportunities! Each time the ball did miss the goal, we had to blink at the screen because we couldn't believe it! *sigh*

Argh!

(Oh and you can say it anytime, girl! lol)
