So. My Awesome French Posse Weekend? Isn't exactly happening as planned, as in it's not happening at all? Yes. Cramps 1 Mouse 0 *sigh*
It means I had to watch SPN 4x21 and 4x22 on my own. Man, SPN finales? Always make my heart beat faster. Literally. Who needs to go the gym when they can just watch the last episodes of a season of Supernatural ♥ ♥
Know what? It was almost worth the pain of seeing the brothers such at odds with each other all this season for that last shot of them clinging to each other's shirts. Almost. But, man, even with Lucifer rising right in front of me, which was bad, the one thing I could think of was 'SAM AND DEAN ARE BACK TOGETHER! THEY'RE A TEAM AGAIN! THANK YOU KRIPKE!' We SPN fangirls sure know where our priorities are lol
Dean almost gave up Sam! He found out he has - well, thought he has - lines, after all. This part totally freaked me out. Dean! Giving up on Sam and just letting him go and - *dies*
Even though I'm happy that Bobby is always here for the boys and ready to tell them when in they're in the wrong, I'll be honest and admit that I wasn't thrilled at Bobby's method to bring Dean back on rail.
I know it worked,I know it was necessary; it doesn't mean I have to like the way he did it - or more like, I don't like he went the 'you're a whiny bitch' route. I wish people stopped calling Dean a whiner - since when feeling depressed about having spend forty years in hell all the while being tortured then turning into a monster should be considered 'whining'? No, I know, that was another episode, but that's beside the point.
Since when did feeling depressed and sad and lost because you think you're losing - or has already lost - your own brother become 'whining'? Argh! Though the 'wonder if Sam ever was my brother' thing was definitely too much.
Something I'm 100% glad Bobby did was tell Dean that he's a better man that John ever was - and I've always loved John (yes, with all his flaws and his fucked-up'ness) so...
In the end, family, Sam, was still more important than anger and disappointment and fear. Good thing Dean is Dean.
I howled "OH PUTAIN" (translation: "HOLY FUCKING HIT") at the screen when Sam listened to the fake!phone message. Man, it made me ache! But then it also showed how much Sam still needed Dean, even so far gone. There was something making him hesitate before the message, there wasn't after.
Not that I'm writing him as a victim - free will has been a hot topic all this season and he was always the one who took the decisions but if he'd heard Dean's real message, I wonder if things would have been a bit more interesting for Ruby, ie maybe she would have had to work a littler harder yet to make Sam do what she needed him to.
Or not, because I think one of Sam's biggest flaw is his pride so, between his genuine belief that he was doing something necessary and his pride, it's not always that difficult to steer him in the (wrong)right direction. But whatever! That phone message killed me dead, is what I wanted to say.
CASTIEL! Oh, Castiel, I loved you like burning before, but after this episode? I just have no idea how to express my love for you! You turned your back on everything you were supposed to believe in for Dean! The lies and the Apocalypse and the deaths don't even count because in the end it meant Dean could finally know peace! *melts*
I mean, that's how I heard it - that Dean is totally worth all the lies and the deaths and the pain *cough*
I was screaming at him to do something - SPN makes me talk to my tv a lot - in the "green room" all the while feeling so bad for him because he's sucha woobie with the confusion and the eyes and the looks and the bowed head. And then Dean was all 'we're done' and I was like 'nooooooooo' - don't break up with Castiel!
I did mention SPN finales really stress me out, right? Good.
Anyway, then here he was, with the knife and the cutting himself and, ok, that scene when he's using his own blood on the wall shouldn't be hot? But it just was.
Also, they totally DID NOT KILL Castiel, right? I'm asking because when the archangels - and er, what that plural? - arrived at Chuck's - which, hi Chuck, hi!! - I got a bit scared for him. They can't kill Castiel, right?
Speaking of killing - how awesome was it when Dean went to plunge the knife in Ruby and Sam simultaneously hold her arms? They were a team again! Without a single word between them and bye-bye Ruby! Which, I almost felt sorry for her? No, seriously, she's done all that work to bring Lucifer back, took all those risks, and she won't even get to see the result? I felt almost sorry for her. I stress the 'almost'. But she was good, she did manage to create a rift between the brother, that's impressive.
What about Anna? I do hope we get to hear about her next season. Also, Anna? I'm really sorry you're not Dean because if that had been the case? Castiel would never have let them drag you away *pets her*
Oh and turns out Dean broke the first seal and Sam broke the last. I thought it was a nice symmetry. If by 'nice' you mean 'fucked-up', mind you, but you know what I mean...
And I can't believe how they ended the episode! Talk about a cliffhanger *iz scared* Next season should be interesting *bounces*
Oh show, you never fail to make me the happiest of fangirls ♥ ♥
It's official now, it's hiatus time *pout* No Dollhouse - good news is that we should get a second season \o/ - and no Supernatural... Hiatus, why are you always so mean to us?

Date: 2009-05-16 07:49 pm (UTC)YES YES YES! Um, that is to say, that's how I heard it to. I mean, I honestly don't know what other way there is to understand that scene. ♥
And about the "whiner" thing it's funny because I hate, hate, hate it whenever calls Dean that for all the reasons you gave (seriously, people, a whiner? I'd like to see you go through forty fucking years in hell and see how you do) but it didn't bother me with Bobby - mostly because I thought it was less of a "I really do think you're whining" thing so much as it was "you boys are breaking my heart and since Sam isn't here I'll lose my shit with you and say whatever I think will get you to go make up with Sam" thing. :D
And I'm pretty sure Misha is supposed to be there for next season so no, Castiel is not dead. Though really, they'd have to be pretty fucking stupid to kill off Cas. ;)
Also, Anna? I'm really sorry you're not Dean because if that had been the case? Castiel would never have let them drag you away *pets her*
Ahaha, trufax. :D

Date: 2009-05-16 07:58 pm (UTC)No, you're right, this was how it was meant but I think it's a sore point for me and even with Bobby it kinda pained me, you know? I mean, clearly Bobby was right and Dean needed the 'pep talk' but why did he have to go the 'whining' route? *cringe*
hey'd have to be pretty fucking stupid to kill off Cas. ;)
I most certainly second that.
Ahaha, trufax. :D
Not everyone can be Dean, after all!

Date: 2009-05-16 08:43 pm (UTC)You turned your back on everything you thought was right for Dean!
Heh, I know you like to see it this way, but I'm pretty sure what Dean pressed upon was that Cas already thought Stuff wasn't Quite Right. So he turned his back on something he already thought was fishy, for Dean. ;) (Dean acting as an angel's conscience? I see what you did there, Kripke.)
Also, Kripke is mean. Because I'm sure the way it was filmed, Castiel's drawing of blood was meant to lead us into
temptationthinking that he was offering it to Dean to drink. Not that banishing Zack wasn't awesome, but coupled with the wall-shoving and the hand-over-mouth, it could give a fangirl ideas, you know?no subject
Date: 2009-05-16 08:59 pm (UTC)I think I hate that whenever either of the boys start to express their feelings, they're immediately seen as weak and emo and whiny little bitches.

You don't really expect me to write my review the exact same way things happened in the actual episode, do you? lol
But if you want do it like that; of course, that's what happened. Castiel was doubting things for a long time; his forced visit to Bible Camp was his 'reward' for his doubts and actions. It's not so much that Dean had an angel on his shoulder that Castiel had a Dean on his :-)

I most certainly do.

Why yes. I am expecting you to write up about that part where Dean kissed Castiel goodbye before leaving him to fend off the Archangel On Duty, too. (Well, being sent off rather than leaving by his own means, but these are details.)
And the part with the explanations between Sam and Dean where Sam found out that Dean hadn't really sent that poisoned voicemail - because he *has* to.
And the part where they made up and maybe Cas joined them, I don't remember it very clearly, maybe my copy of the episode cut off too early? :D

Date: 2009-05-16 09:43 pm (UTC)I feel like crying each time Sam promises Dean he'll save him from hell. No, Sam, you won't, I'm sorry - and dude, if you only knew what s4 has in store for you guys *tears up*
Re: the different parts that needs to be written about? I most definitely agree. The fake!message definitely needs some fix-it fics; it was just way too painful!
And the threesome part is pretty good too. Also, I'm afraid we both had a bad copy because mine cut off too early too! Such a shame!

Date: 2009-05-16 09:52 pm (UTC)I'm not too worried about the cliffhanger, because - seriously, even with the boys at Ground Zero, does anyone really think they'll die (permanently)? There's no show without both of the boys, so.
Also, since we know Misha Collins joins the cast as a regular, can we still be worried about the results of the Archangel skirmish?
I've heard a lot of speculation about one of the boys becoming Lucifer's host, but I don't think that's in store either. (I know no spoilers though and prefer to keep it that way.)

Date: 2009-05-17 12:23 pm (UTC)It's worth everything!
To be honest, so far I've never been worried about eiher of the boys being killed off. That is, permanently. Not when the show is still running. As soon as they announce the show isn't get renewed, I'll start to worry.
I didn't even know Misha had joined the cast as a regular for season 5, can you believe it? Intel is everything, makes you not worry about your favourite angel being killed off. I'll have to remember that for next season *nods*
I don't really think that's in store, I don't really see it either. Mind you, one never knows with Kripke but I'd be surprised if that happened. Or, say, maybe for a couple episodes, but I don't see it for the whole season.
Spoiler-free is my favoured state with SPN too; guess we'll both have to wait :-)

Date: 2009-05-17 12:35 am (UTC)We're going to bed now after watching SPN - underwhelmed, I'm sorry to repeat - and A WHOOOOOLE LOT of MCR media. Like, 5 hours worth.
I hope you're feeling ok though ... even without our awesome presence ;)

Date: 2009-05-17 12:27 pm (UTC)I can only imagine! I mean, there was no-one to insert a Panic reference whenever MCR was mentioned!
The text messages were nice, btw :-)
So, hey, did you have time to do the planned X-Men marathon? Or was it sacrificed? lol
I feel fine today, despite the lack of you :-)

me again!
Date: 2009-05-17 06:25 pm (UTC)Is that what he meant by the "lines" speech? I took it to mean that he had found his line as to how far he'd go to fight evil. Like, "Anything for the job" became "I can't let Sam become a monster even if it means saving the world". I'm confused now! lol
I agree that the message thing was a killer though. I was really bummed because I like Ruby a lot. And now she's dead, and next season we'll have to go through the whole "what do we think about this actress" wank again! lol
Oh, and re:hiatus? Isn't Glee supposed to start in a couple of days? That should give us something to gnaw on for a little while, at least :)
Re: me again!

That type of SPN wank is like Christmas, it's tradition.
IIRC, Glee premieres on the 19th, yeah - or pretty soon, anyway.

That was a nice cliffhanger, wasn't it?
