I took an exam this morning - for an internet and IT certificate - and it was quite funny because it's been ages since I had to sit an exam. Brought back some memories. Let's hope I did ok and will be able to add something to my CV next week *fingers crossed*

Speaking of work, there's a new campaign against homophobia at the uni with those two ads, respectively showing a girl and a boy. The one with the boy says something along the lines of "Here's a boy who likes boys but this boy who likes boys doesn't like boys who don't like boys who like boys... You think this sentence is complicated? It's nothing compared to this student's life." It does work because when I was reading the sentence I was like "wtf is that, that sentence is just -oh, ok." Same text for the girl, only, with "girl who likes girls etc." obviously.

Changing the subject. There's a meme going around where people associate five things with you and you have to ramble 'elaborate on the subjects given'. [livejournal.com profile] turps33 gave me five things some time ago and I finally 'elaborated' :

Disney Store:
Oh, dude, talk about a trip down memory lane! Feels like eons ago since I was a Cast Member at the Champs Elysées Disney Store. I still remember the whole experience clearly, though. Mind you, how could I forget the ugly uniform I had to wear at the time? Or the rich clients who thought they just had to whistle to attract my attention? Or those other rich clients who sometimes seemed to buy half the store for their kids' birthdays. I couldn't forget my Saturday and Sunday schedule either, when I had to leave the house at 5.30AM so that I could be at the store at 7.00AM. Man. I still remember it being December and me closing the door of the house leaving behind my parents and my sister, peacefully sleeping in their warm, warm beds, while I was facing the biting cold of winter. I'm shivering just to think about it! And there were the Disney songs... always the same all day long. Which could drive you crazy, except when they didn't. I know that the Christmas songs were bearable. As repetitive as it soon became when you worked 8 or 9 hours in a row on the same floor. That was just how work was like at Disney store :-)

Brendon:
Brendon Boyd Urie! Love of my bandom life. I always say I love My Chemical Romance - boy do I ever! - and I looooooooove MikeyWay but Brendon... it's just Brendon, you know? I love this guy? That's the short story. A longer one would be how I love his voice and love how he's always been Ryan's voice, love that it was a struggle at one point, and look at the results now! I love his insecurities, love his dorkiness, love how he'll wear a pink hoodie and thick red glasses and those oh-so-colourful and sparkly shoes. Love the presence he has on stage, how he demands your attention when he's up there singing and how he'll be quiet and sometimes not uttering a word in interviews, letting the others do the talking. I love his dorky faces, love his little laugh. I love that he lived on his own when he was seventeen and was able to jungle high school and a job and his music all at the same time and how he made it in the end. I love that he plays a gazillion instruments but will tell you he just "dabbles" when asked about it. I love the way he looks at Ryan and Spencer or Jon in interviews sometimes, with such an attentive and intense look. I love that he sometimes doesn't look like he can stay still and I love it so much when he actually does. I love to see him move, sometimes so sexy, sometimes so incredibly dorky, sometimes both at the same time. I love how small he is and how people seem to just grab him as if he were weighing nothing. I love that he puts everything he has for his audience, I love that he loves what he's doing and I guess I just love loving him :-)

Methos:
One of my favourite characters ever! I loved Methos because he was so different from your typical 'hero' - the guy was ruthless, he lied, he cheated, he manipulated everyone - his friends included - he had no morale, except for when he did. He didn't believe in chivalry, made it look like loyalty was stupid but could risk his life for his friends. He was witty, funny, sarcastic, annoying. He could kill without a second thought, didn't necessarily trust easily, except - again - when he did. He also loved with every fiber of his being and even though I've always been a Duncan/Methos slasher, I definitely loved the Methos/Alexa storyline. He had this dark past, he basically had to learn how to be a decent man through trials and errors and, hey, sometimes 'decency' might be in the eye of the beholder but to go from being Death at one point and then becoming the Methos we know, well, this is quite impressive.

Christmas:
Oh, dude, Christmas! My favourite time of the year! So many people will tell you all about how Christmas lost its meaning a long time ago and how nowadays it's all about the money and the consumerism and, ok, fair enough, but truth is, I just never listen to these people? Because, sure, there's some truth in that but, unlike those many people, I've always been capable of seeing past that. Because, to me, Christmas is all about the joy and happiness and, yes, cheesiness, so what?

It's the smell of winter in the air, it's about the lights up in the streets, the decorated windows in the shops, it's the Christmas songs at the mall. It's about the oh-so-cheesy Christmas programs on tv, which I love more than anything, yes. It's about decorating my house, helping my mother decorating hers, it's about spending hours in crowded malls, queuing forever and not really caring because it's part of the game of getting presents for people you want to please. It's wrapping the gifts at home while listening to Christmas songs, with my Christmas tree lit up. It's about buying Christmas cards and spending an evening writing them before sending them out to friends. It's about opening the mailbox and finding cards for me coming from all over the world. It's about all those traditions I have, some coming from my family, some I created with my friends...

Christmas is also about Winter Job every weekend of December and the big tops and the shows and the selling toys for kids under said big top and making candy-floss and laughing our asses off because we usually end up with more on ourselves than on the stick. At the beginning, that is :-) It's exhausting and you want it to be over but at the same time it's familiar and it's being with my family again - sure, working this time but, hey, so what, being together is never not cool, so it's ok :-) And it's a change in routine and it's working in the middle of real-live!camels and seeing Santa Claus and talking to magicians...

Christmas is Christmas Eve, meaning family time, all of us excited and anticipating the moment at midnight when we'll open our presents. It's time spent with people I love, having a wonderful time together, around a gorgeous table, eating delicious food and just being together and ending the night with presents for everyone. It's about quiet time the day after and basking in the Christmas afterglow, all peaceful and mellow.

The French Posse:
Here's one beautiful example of a bunch of girls met on-line who went from strangers to LJ-friends to RL-friends. These are the girls that my long-time RL friends were dying to see when I had my bday party last Sunday because they were so curious about those people met on-line who obviously had become part of my life. They're not really used to that kind of thing :-) The members of the FP are like my spiritual sisters. I guess we speak the same language. It's funny because I never hide anything from my other friends - or family for that matter - so people know I have an LJ and they know I'm all over tv shows and I talk about slash with them when I feel like it but it's more in passing as we don't share those interests. Life on-line is a mystery to them, they don't have the same knowledge so to speak. Which would be the complete opposite with the FP, we're kindred spirits. We have so much more in common than our LJs, we share so much of our lives with one another, but fandom and life on-line are always parts of our discussions and it's always so much fun being able to discuss those subjects with people who get it.

We have those awesome nights and/or weekends when we basically do nothing but stay indoors and still have the best of time. We have our name, we have our HQ (Starbucks, obviously), we have our drinks (tea and/or Desperados)... we're our own little club and we just rock together. We email each other pretty much everyday when we're at our respective workplaces and I've come to rely on those little messages from the girls. It's a little FP presence that I adore. To make a long story short, the FP is about clever and funny and witty and fun girls I love being with ♥ ♥

I said 'elaborate'? I guess I meant 'rambled on'. Same difference :-p

Oh, and a miracle happened! I found three episodes of K-Ville on-line! Subtitled in French which - as odd as it may sound - is a bit distracting but, yay! Not 'one' but 'three' episodes in English of K-Ville, woohoo! Also! I have all of Sons of Anarchy now sitting on my HD. Me happy :-)
