All good things come to those that wait, or how after, what ten years? I'll finally go and see a real Christmas Market!

For the past ten years we (meaning the family) have been Big Top-working every weekend in November-December, thus making it impossible for us to go to any of the wonderful Christmas markets that are part of the Christmas tradition. But this year is different and we'll have a free weekend so we decided to go for it and it's done! Our rooms are booked! We picked the one in Colmar and I cannot wait *bounce*

And now, for something different (though keeping with the French theme of the entry) a little chattering in French, because it's about a French guy that no-one would care about but the French and, even that, only people under a certain age.

Je sais pas trop ce qui passe en ce moment, mais on dirait que quelqu'un a décidé de s'acharner sur nos "icônes" d'adolescents ! D'abord Michael Jackson, ensuite Patrick Swayze et maintenant l'un des 2B3 ! Moi, les boys' band, j'ai jamais été fan, que ce soit les 2B3, Alliage ou G-Squad, et si je connais leurs noms c'est que a) quand ta meilleure amie et ta frangine sont accro, forcément, tu connais tout par osmose et autant vous dire que j'en ai bouffé du boys' band avec elles ! et b) j'ai pas vécu "sous une pierre" quand j'étais au collège donc bon, sans être fan, je peux pas nier qu'ils ont fait partie du paysage médiatique des années 90 ; d'où mon "ah bah merde alors" quand j'ai appris la nouvelle sur Twitter. Et puis mourir à 35 ans, c'est beaucoup trop jeune...

Si demain Hélène Rollès passe l'arme à gauche, je sais pas comment je vais annoncer la nouvelle à ma soeur, je vous le dis !

PS : je viens d'avoir ma soeur au téléphone, justement, et elle m'a annoncé (comme ça, sans me prévenir) que René, des Musclés, était mort aussi ! Décidément...

ETA: Omg! I have just discovered, the Chuck Lorre Production Vanity Cards! I mean, I'm at episode 2x17 of The Big Bang Theory and I've just discovered they did this! Note to self: stick to the very last nanosecond of closing credits from now on! You never know what little gem you can discover.

Yay Christmas markets! I loved the one in Strasbourg, wandering around freezing my toes off, finding great gifts to send home, and drinking vin chaud. I wish we had things like that here in the States.

Lisa and I did get to meander through Lyon's last year, but it was all sorts of rainy that night, so no fun there. :P We also saw the markets on the Champs-Elysées when we first arrived, but we're too tired from the jetlag to really enjoy it. lol

Christmas markets are a thing of beauty, aren't they? And I'll finally have the opportunity to experience them first hand \o/

I went to the Christmas Market on the Champs-Elysées and it was nice but, well, I can't wait to go to a real one *bounces*

C'est sûr, j'étais pas fan mais quel choc! Merde quoi! C'est quoi cette série-là?! Elle peut pas s'arrêter un peu?
En plus, ayant les mêmes origines que lui, ça me fait d'autant plus quelque chose... Ma belle-mère avait eu l'occasion de le rencontrer lors d'un vol et m'avait dit que c'était un très gentil garçon, simple et souriant.
C'est très triste. Surtout à cet âge-là -_-

C'est sur qu'à à moment, tout le monde commence à vieillir et on s'attend à les voir disparaitre à peu près en même temps, mais bon mis à part René peut-être, les autres étaient quand même bien jeunes donc ça fait vraiment bizarre...

On devient vieilles ... j'en discutais avec une copine cet après midi, qui disait "ils meurent tous en ce moment" ... mais j'imagine que les gens meurent pas plus qu'avant, c'est juste que tous les gens qui meurent en ce moment, on les connait, voire ils ont une signification particuliere pour nous. Du coup, on en prend un coup à chaque fois ...

Et dude, vous allez a Colmar, tres bon choix!! :D Tu seras avec ta famille, right? Sinon je t'aurais bien invitée à la maison. Je pourrai vous filer des tuyaux si tu veux lol

Oui mais pour le moment, y a pas mal de gens de moins de 55 ans qui décèdent... logiquement, on aurait du attendre encore un peu avant de se dire ''tain, on vieillit nous aussi, hein ?'

Oui, on va à Colmar, j'ai trop pensé à toi :-) J'y vais avec la famille, mais merci quand même, c'est chou *g* Et je pense que je te demanderai quelques renseignements avant de partir *nod*

Je n'étais pas fan non plus, mais ça fait bizarre quand même. Et je savais pour René des Musclés, et je regardais leurs séries débiles avec Hilguegue et Estrella quand j'étais petite. Ca fait vraiment bizarre.

Sérieux, 35 ans, c'est pas un âge pour mourir ça!
ça fout vraiment le bourdon. Moi j'avais 13 ans, j'étais pas forcément fan fan, mais je ne vais pas le nier, c'était quand même une grande partie de ma culture musicale de l'époque. Avec lui, c'est un peu de mes années collèges qui s'en vont :(

Très bon choix Colmar, en plus très jolie ville en elle même. SI vous avez le tps, faites un saut par Stras, c'est à moins d'une heure de train!

On n'y peut rien, ça nous fait toujours quelque chose quand quelqu'un de connu meurt ; en particulier (enfin surtout) quand tu as grandi avec.

Je ne suis jamais allée à Colmar (ou en Alsace) donc j'ai assez hâte :-) Je note pour Stras, même si je ne pense vraiment pas qu'on aura le temps. Mais je peux toujours noter ça pour plus une autre fois :-)

Could you elaborate on 'Christmas market'? I don't know if the United States as a whole don't have them, or if they're just not a feature in my area of the wide-open southwest. Anyway, it sounds fascinating.

Oh, Christmas Markets are a joy for all those who enjoy Christmas festivities :-) Imagine an open market, dedicated to everything Christmassy, arts and crafts oriented especially, with many yummy and wintery and christmassy and traditional delicacies to eat and drink while strolling the alleys, including vin chaud (mulled wine?), which is a must at Winter time ! Well, I don't like it but I'm an exception lol

There will also be animations all around too and just - I've been dreaming of going to one of those for, well, ten years, really :-)
