Date: 2004-07-14 08:32 am (UTC)Soooo the woman handing tissues is Debbie, Michael's mother. Michael's loving but sometimes oh so overwhelming mother - she's the mother hen of the group, has a big heart and a bigger mouth and is just... too much sometimes, but that's Debbie for you lol
She's handing the tissues to Ted and Em (Ted on the left, Em on the right) who are two of the main characters. They used to be a couple but broke up and seeing Michael getting married moved Ted so much because of all the 'what if' with Em. Also, in the beginning of the show, we learn that Ted is in love with Michael *g*
The kid who says 'dude, say I do' is Hunter (real name Jimmy but no one ever calls him that). He's Ben and Michael's adopted son - or fostered son I don't remember, damn... I know they went to court after his cold bitch of a mother came back but anyway, he's their kid and he lives with them permanently. He used to be hustler --yes ma'am-- and they took him under their wings - in particular when they learnt he was HIV positive, which Ben is too incidentally. Last week, Hunter came out to his parents as having a... girlfriend, the scene was too cute for words! Unfortunately, they broke up after Callie learnt that he got the virus after whoring himself. She could accept the whole HIV+ thing but not the hustling, but well... they're sixteen years old, know what I men? Besides, her parents interfered too. Incidentally 2, when Michael started dating Ben and the gang learn he was positive, Ted and his so open-minded mother included-- to convince him to stop.
And finally, the guy who almost talked but didn't is the infamous Brian Kinney, Michael's best friend of more than fifteen years. They have a very intense and complex relationship --touching each other all the time, kissing each other including French kisses and unable to stay away from each other for too long-- but they never were a couple nor even fucked each other. Their relationship is really beautiful and pretty humbling - and yeah, damn complex lol
I'm so glad you finally saw a bit of QAF *g*

Date: 2004-07-14 09:31 am (UTC)If it's not a boy then it's.... Priceless indeed lol
And then when they're in bed, Michael is like Do you think it's a phase? That maybe he hasn't found the right boy. Then it goes a bit more serious and it's even better *g*

Date: 2004-07-14 08:37 am (UTC)Also in this episode, Ben says something that was really really mean. See, when Michael finally admits what he thought of the book, Ben doesn't really take it gracefully, well he's disappointed of course - Michael being the sweetheart he is tries to tell Ben that he's no professional after all, he doesn't really know literature and the like and that surely, other more cultivated people will think differently --you need to know Mikey has a pretty low-self esteem on a good day. To which Ben replies that he shouldn't have asked Michael in the first place anyway, and that it's not his fault he's more Justice League than Ivy league. I'm still seething from the come back, really because that was so demeaning!
But then, the end of the episode puts things back in order, well more or less, when Ben gets his publishers' thought on the book and they end up saying exactly the same thing than Michael, only with bigger words... I don't know if he apologised for good (I didn't see this episode) but at least he told Michael that he was right.
I love Ben, I love Ben/Michael, but Ben can be a bastard sometimes *glares*

Date: 2004-07-14 10:24 am (UTC)You were right, not much of Justin but his "getting your ass fucked is one of the great joys of being gay" is so Justin. Had to bite something to keep from snorking all over.
(Although I've noticed that some guys, even straight guys, cannot get enough of this once they've tried it. There are plenty of ass guys around, regardless of orientation. Drop their pants and salivate at the site of a tube of lube once you train them right.)
The "gay/straight" movie star was interesting too.
More bisexuality, or implying that you still need the straight cover to make it big in Hollyweird? Hm. I thought we were past that. Maybe not. *heavy sigh*
The wedding was so Schmoop, but just right. Em and Ted being total queens was a nice antidote to the schmoop. Ted got the funniest line of the night about lesbian weddings. "Shake hands and go bowling?" God, Ted, stereotype much? But still funny. The "might have been" with Em made me sniffle. I was a big Ted/Em shipper. *sigh* Throw me a crumb, will ya?
I know you think things look grim for the ladies, but hey, did that ever need clearing.
I read it like this: Mel cheats on Linds with a chick, horrible but understandable, forgivable. Linds cheats on Mel with a guy and it's the unforgiveable sin.
Identity threatened much, Mel? Yeah, it was wrong as hell, but geez. She's more pissed over Linds betraying gayness than betraying her! Interesting situation, though.
I have a feeling that the new baby might change a few things, as will the marriage.

Date: 2004-07-15 12:25 pm (UTC)You're welcome *g* It drove me crazy this bloody message - and it was so unfair, too! But one should always trust internet, for we always find a way to go around a problem - or so it seems lol
