I worked from home today and it did make for a nice change of routine. First, there were the clothes. It's not that we have a dress code in my department but I just wouldn't be caught dead wearing sweats outside of my house, you know? Or you don't, if you love sweats. But, yeah, today was definitely uber!casual day; old and comfy sweats, mismatched socks, my The Like tshirt and a Threadless hoodie. Sex on legs, right? lol
I also happened to have a sick!girlfriend sprawled on the couch pretty much all day: poor Cookie was feeling under the weather when she woke up so she called in sick. The background sound was also different as we had Dexter s3 on. Because when I offered Cookie to put on a DVD for her, her idea of "comfort-tv" was Dexter. Ok, then! So now, I can say that I'm technically almost caught up on the third season. I say 'technically' because I had a lot of articles to read and comment for work so I couldn't be 100% focused on Dexter's shenanigans.
Now I'm done and I know I should start with the school work but I don't wanna! If some of you went back to school after years without and are working full time, do you have a tried and tested method for combining the two? Like, do you study right after you're back from work so that you don't lose the momentum? Or do you give yourself a break before starting? Do you wake up earlier? Did you tell your friends and your family that from now on you were on a break, sorry, and you had to stop seeing them till you got the damn degree?
I lack discipline and I'm a professional procrastinator, that's my main problems... so after a long day at work, it's not natural for me to start studying. I really dislike this part of myself, btw, but ignoring it wouldn't do. The sad part is that I love studying and whenever I'm making research for a new paper to write or when I'm reading books for my class, I'm all "new knowledge YAY" but I'm not one of those driven people who go to work and then study seamlessly. And I love my social and familial life too! So it's like I "lose" some more hours every week because of that... and I can't manage to feel guilty, even though maybe I do a little because I know I could be working instead? Argh! #MyLife #SoHard

I'm the same, but I think having a break with a tv treat after work before studying would work best for me, but everyone is different!
