Apr. 16th, 2011 12:03 amTonight, I had another of my fannish wishes come reality; I saw Eddie Izzard on stage \o/ I was with the usual suspects, namely
moimoietmoi and
greedy_dancer. It was way too short (only one hour) but it was quite a performance as the man did it all in French. It wasn't his first time, I know, but it's still impressive. It was also hilarious. Then again, it's Eddie Izzard. French or English, he's just fantastic. We had a blast :-)
Our first week off has gone beautifully: relaxing at the Jardin du Luxembourg, relaxing and sunbathing and reading at my parents', spending time with friends, strolling around in Montmartre, spending a whole day at Eurodisney with
jedicathy and
rosengirl, being domestic at Ikea, going to the Eddie Izzard gig tonight. Therer's also been more of mainlining Smallville (it's all Cookie's fault, mind) and we've started the second season of Glee. I've also read many a Sherlock/John, I seem to be in that kind of mood again. Not that I'm complaining :-)
I also happen to have a goal this week, finish A Game of Thrones before the show starts on the 17th (or around that date). So far so good, except I haven't read a lot the past two days so I'm behind my "schedule" omg! I'll catch up tomorrow, though; this is a promise to myself. And to Jon and Eddard and Tyrion and Bran and Arya and the lot of them ♥
PS: GD just posted this over at twitter; it's the response that (gay former N.B.A player) John Amaechi made to Los Angeles Lakers player Kobe Bryant after his antigay slur at a referee during a match. It's a beautiful, clever and touching text.

Date: 2011-04-15 10:52 pm (UTC)Kobe Bryant is a douche. He's been a douche for years...raped a girl and got away with it. Ugh.

Yeah, loads of sports stars have creepy pasts like this, and after it's been in the past for a while, people tend to forget about it. I mean, look at Tiger Woods.

Date: 2011-04-16 06:06 pm (UTC)I figure you were right the first time. Yes, he was "acquitted", but we all know that the justice system is rigged against a rape victim. And it's even worse when the accused rapist is a "big name". So I'm quite certain that he raped the girl and got away with it... as so many, many rapists do.
