Vacation D-Day \o/ Boss Man came in and was all "we're all leaving early, today, right?" And, you know, as we told him "your wish is our command, Boss!" The last day of work before Summer break is always a lot of fun around here. There's only a minimum of work accomplished (technically, you're supposed to have completed your big projects by then) and the day is dedicated to throwing away all the stuff you don't need anymore and cleaning out your desk. I've written a huge memo to myself for September - I have new (and exciting) projects coming up next (school) year and I want things to go as smoothly as possible right from the start - I've cleaned my desk and, basically? I'm done for the day :-p
Our first week of vacation is already filled with activities (albeit nice ones) and I'm thinking we'll have to include some LazyAss day at one point. Just want to spend a day in bed or on the couch, not touching my thesis - not even looking at it - and watching the telly (we're caught up on White Collar and True Blood but we need to give Falling Skies and Suits a try) and reading fics. And more fics :-) My obsession for everything related to XMFC, James McAvoy and Fassavoy has settled down a tad (keyword being "a tad") but I still need my daily dose of Erik/Charles. Going without for too long would be a bit cruel...
Speaking of White Collar, I really enjoyed "As you were" though it kinda tied me up in knots by the end - in a good way in the sense that I'm still really invested and all but it's also stressing me out a bit. What the fuck is happening? I thought it was a mess before but Neal is now lying to just about everyone and it can't end up well. I do really feel for him though and find myself getting annoyed at Mozzie for pushing Neal like that. Like I keep saying, I know Neal is an adult and should be able to make up his mind and take responsibilites for his his actions but he seems so torn and lost. And alone.
That phone call at the end was painful to watch. Dammit Neal, why couldn't you stick to Peter and the new life he'd offered you? You were doing so well - with some hiccups now and then, sure, but overall you were doing good and look at you now. And now that he's hiding things from Mozzie too, I'm even more curious to see where it's all going.
I'm always impressed when writers choose to change the dynamics of their show, it's not an easy thing to do... especially in a show like White Collar which, to me, was always more about the cute and the fluff than the angst and betrayal, know what I mean? So, yeah, I'm impressed. And I hope things won't end up too badly *fingers crossed* Thing is, I can't see Peter forgiving Neal for all the deception. Idk. One thing I do know is that I'll be tuning in till the bitter end! How many episodes are there left, btw? Are they on their way to a hiatus too?
Completely unrelated. Yesterday, after work, Cookie and I picked our rings. No wedding (for obvious reasons, even if we wanted to) or PACS (French civil union opened to same sex couples) ahead but we wanted something to celebrate our commitement and rings are always such a powerful symbol. Well, maybe not to everyone, mind, but they are to us, so we went and picked them yesterday. That is, we chose them but they had to order them from another shop so we won't be wearing them till mid-August. I can't wait! Expect some pictures when we do pick them up :-)

Date: 2011-07-29 08:27 pm (UTC)This is my issue. I don't see Peter forgiving him, but I don't see them having Peter catch Neal and throw him back in prison. At this point I kinda hope Neal does run and then they go chasing each other across America. That would be more realistic.

D'awww....that's adorable!! I really want to see the pictures. :) And if you have a ceremony, that would be super adorable too!
