So I was expecting (and hoping for) some lazy times in Alsace with [livejournal.com profile] moimoietmoi and [livejournal.com profile] greedy_dancer, right? I sure got my wish :-) Unsurprisingly, mind.

First things first, as is now our tradition when Sam and I get to Colmar and meet with GD, we go have afternoon tea. In case you're wondering, it tasted as good as it looked :-p

Then we went for a stroll around town. More precisely we headed to the FNAC where GD got a bunch of DVDs for us to watch later (also, who could resist those 5 DVDs for 30€ deals?). The selection included The Breakfast Club, which none of us had ever seen.

This morning we started the day with some nice breakfast in the garden, under the sun!

More evidence. Sun! All day long! It hadn't happened in too long. Which might explained why we took advantage of it and basically spent the whole day in the garden, either reading on the lounge chair or sleeping in the hammock and just lazying around. Pretty awesome. Except for how we should have been even more careful with the sunscreen and used much more than we did. Cause we all ended with some impressive sunburns. I got off a little easier then the girls, but damn that was a lot of red some part of our bodies!

After lazying around we decided to go into town where GD bought her brand new shiny new laptop (it was an exciting moment) followed with a visit to Bennwihr where they were holding a "summer market" and where we had dinner...

... namely Flammekueche and beer for Sam and me, white wine for GD. Then there was traditional dancing. Pretty neat first part of our evening :-)

So that was yesterday and most of today. Now it's past 1.30PM and the three of us have been sitting at the kitchen counter ever since we got back home, each on our respective computers (GD having spent some time making her new laptop hers for good), eating mousse au chocolat and listening to Madonna. Wait, the CD stopped. So now the soundtrack is our fingers typing on the keyboard. And the comments we make when reading something that we have to share with the others. Totally awesome second part of the evening, Y/Y? We'll go to bed at one point. Possibly.

Lol And to think we've actually been sorta reasonable, food-wise! I mean, we did have light lunch and all!

Those relaxing holidays should definitely become tradition! I say we kick my parents out every year for the foreseeable future even if they don't have stuff planned *g*

Lol I guess I should feel a little sorry for your parents? But I can only approve of your plan!

Also, do you want me to start a new petition for the swimming pool? Think of all the signatures we could get overnight thanks to our respective social networks!!

The comments when people realised you'd never seen The Breakfast Club amused me so much *g*

I do like the idea of you all sitting with your laptops, just chilling it. That sounds like the best kind of vacation.

Yes, but people don't understand that some classics in the US/UK just don't mean anything over here! Still, I'm definitely glad we finally watched it :-)

We always have the most relaxing time when we're in Alsace. Today was a repeat of yesterday... except we actually didn't leave the house lol And I was the one taking a nap in the hammock instead of SAM. And now, we're listening to a podfic of Badfics; fun times!

That sounds like a wonderful vacation! Mmmmm, the food looks delicious! And The Breakfast Club, that's been one of my favourite movies for years and years. I must have watched it ten times by now. Last time was quite recently even and I think I didn't enjoy it as much as previously because I read a book at the same time, but some of the bits just stay wonderful.

We always have the most wonderful time when we go to Alsace. Relaxing doesn't even begin to cover it ♥

I really enjoyed The Breakfast Club and I'm glad I finally saw that cultish film :-)
