When can I see them again??
Aug. 21st, 2011 12:20 pmBack from Frankfurt where I had a blast with the girls. The concert was absolutely fantastic and we managed to play tourists a little, which delighted me to no end ♥
The concert. One of the (many) things I enjoyed so much when I saw Panic! in Paris in May is how much fun they seemed to have on stage; how they played off each other, how would they laugh all the time and how they just looked like they were having such a great time - it does make for a wonderful concert experience when you're seeing a band really having fun like that in front of you. But it was nothing compared to the gig in Frankfurt. I don't know, they all looked positively beaming and just like they had the time of their lives. It was fucking fantastic.
I always thought Spencer had a gorgeous smile and all but that night he looked radiant. And I just love how the guys seemed to play to him even more than the last time we saw them; they'd regroup close to his drum and play/sing to him more than usual. Brendon turned towards him a lot. It was delightful to see!
And the best thing is? It wasn't just us thinking that, case in point Zack's tweet:

*feels so validated* \o/ If you want to know the setlist, it's on the pic he linked to.
Then, there was also this tweet from Dallon "Very fun show. Thank you everyone for picking us up. We really needed that". Incidentally, Brendon dedicated a song to the victims in Pukkelpop.
I know I'm forgetting loads of things but that will do for now :-)
Also, we got ourselves a new shirt (well, Jem, Cookie and me) and we treated ourselves with our usual post-concert fast-food. It was Burger King instead of McDonald's but our post-gig tradition was respected :-)
Oh, and I realise I forgot to mention the opening act. Lee Jay Cop opened for Panic! and they were a lot of fun.
As usual, our personal photographer was there and Jem took pics and captured some of the songs. As a sample have Brendon singing Let's Get it On to Spencer (IIRC, he said that if he were to get naked, he needed to do it properly?) before breaking into Nearly Witches (both songs are on the video). And I think it's a perfect vid to show how much fun the show was. And how fucking awesome those guys are ♥ ♥
As for the touristy things, before we left for the venue, we had a stroll along the Main towards Römerberg, walked through the Archaelogical Gardens, visited Kaiserdom and had a refreshing drink in a nice little cafe between said cathedral and the place. Then on Sunday we spent a couple of hours at the Senckerberg Museum of National History, where we saw many skeletons of dinosaurs and other interesting things. Also, there were many pop culture references thrown in to make things even more interesting :-) After the Museum we were kinda dead on our feet, so we rested in a Starbucks near the station before it was time to leave.
Unrelated. If you ever wanted to visit the World of Sex and have some fun in the Gay Area? It's at 74, Kaiserstraße. I know because our hostel was just next door lol Actually, there were many sex shops in that street. We certainly know how to pick our hostels \o/

- The guy's trailer was parked where we were queuing and at one point, Zack walked Brendon to said trailer, meaning he was 1m away from me! I admit my heart beat a little faster at that point. It can't be helped, I'm sorry. Or not lol
- Very small venue. Meaning we all had a great view of the stage, meaning we had a great view of the guys ♥ It was ridiculously hot in there, thought, pfew!
- Zack helping Brendon take off his vest at one point - poor dude must have been about to melt on the spot
- the guys doing many little jams together - out of the blue. Just awesome
- Dallon telling us he didn't speak German and then Brendon being all "I know a little German" before pointing to the back of the room "he's standing right over there" then cracking up and apologising "that was so bad. That was a Dad joke". Hee, Bden, never stop being you lol
- Brendon wanting to make a toast, then trying to say the phrase right, to no avail. He did toast anyway, just something unintelligible. And cracked up again.
- Brendon counting in French "Un, deux, trois, quatre". Guess French is easier to remember than German? How maybe he thoughts he was actually counting in German, who knows? lol
- Brendon being quite talkative before doing Let's Kill Tonight, except the sound wasn't the best and we basically didn't get what he was talking about but basically he was asking us to stamp our feet really loud and, I guess, making a lot of noise with him?
- Ian and Dallon changing places and Ian looking tiny and cracking up at the height of his new mic. I'll steal Zack's tweet here to back-up this bullet point; "In case you ever wondered how much taller @dallonweekes is than @TheIanCrawford, He is standing in front of Ian's mic". Here's the pic in question. Yes, Dallon is way much taller than Ian, in case anyone ever had a doubt :-p
- Brendon having some little problem with his keyboard when he needed to change the set up at one point (I wish I could remember what happened for what song but alas it's all mangled up in my head, sorry) and doing this little pout when it just refused to work.
- Ian and Brendon doing a drum lines for two songs - and banging the shit ouf of it. I'm smitten with drum lines :-)
- A girl throwing her bra on stage - I think it fell on a mic - and Zack taking it away at light speed lol I'd forgotten but apparently Brendon said "thank you, we're always running out of underwear on tour".
- Then there was someone asking for their shirt and Brendon being all "You want your shirt back? Sorry but it's ours now" and - I think - "Sorry but we burnt it" (before he checked that they still had it and was ok to give it back) and now I'm wondering if it was the same person and "shirt" was actually an 'euphemism' for "bra"??
- Brendon saying "Ich liebe dich" at the guys, one by one
- Ian asking the audience if we were having fun, then asking Dallon and Spencer if they were having fun too. Just to make sure everyone was having fun lol
- Brendon thanking the audience for being there for them on a Friday night instead of being out or "at home, watching cartoons and eating cereals". Was he thinking of his next Friday off? lol
- Brendon cracking up and telling us "I'm having such a great time, guys"
- Dallon licking his bass pretty often. Not that we were complaining
- Brendon doing a little solo for. Just him and his guitar.
- Ian and Brendon telling us we were "sexy"
- Brendon talking about "his best friends" right before introducing the guys one by one and calling Ian "this little monster" when it was his turn (and messing his hair in the process, Brendon must like Ian's hair a lot becaus he kept doing it) and Dallon "this tall drink of water". Spencer's introduction was along the lines of "the guy who bangs the shit out of everything he sees" ♥
- And, well, the guys just being their fucking awesome selves, putting everything they got into playing and singing and performing for us &hearts, ♥
I know I'm forgetting loads of things but that will do for now :-)
