castalieThis Monday didn't feel like a Monday at all, it was relaxed and almost quiet at work. Needless to say, I enjoyed it :-)
The quiet was welcome for two reasons; first reason is that work has been hectic the past few weeks and I was ready for a change of pace. Second reason is that I had a busy weekend that followed three days of a tiring case of the flu so I wasn't particularly interested in having a difficult start of the week!
Seriously, I spent three days feeling - and looking - like death warmed over; I basically spent all my time in bed. Thankfully, I joined the land of the living on Saturday morning and even though my watch felt heavy on my wrist when I put it on and getting dressed totally tired me out, I was determined to leave the flat because I had Things To Do and Places to Be. Namely, I had to go and buy our Christmas tree in the morning before going to see Scooby Doo with my goddaughter in the afternoon and then! Then go to the Lord of the Rings Night in the evening (umpteenth viewing for me, first time for Cookie! In the queue there was this guy with a cardboard stuck to his vest that said "Cardboard of Shame: I've never seen LOTR before", which was really fun lol)
The LOTR Night was fantastic! Even though we queued 1h45 in the freezing cold before they let us in (I was so cold my toes hurt) and I've been coughing ever since. I promise I tried to keep the coughing to the battle scenes, though. So that people wouldn't want to kill me ded, you know? But back to the films. The crowd was made of fans, obviously (who would sit from 9.30PM to 8.00AM watching the three films back to back!) and it showed! It was obvious that everyone knew the films by heart and also knew all the parodies. I wasn't surprised at how well they responded to, well, everything. What surprised me though is that the whole theather could have been filled with slashers. You should have seen the way everyone (girls and guys alike) reacted at the scenes between Frodo and Sam. Or Aragorn and Legolas. I couldn't believe my ears lol
I managed to stay awake all the way through... except, ok, for ten little minutes when I just dozed off, I couldn't even stop my eyes from closing lol It was kinda cute, actually, because it was 5.00AM when RotK started and by then you could see people dozing off or just sleeping, head resting on their pals's shoulders or just resting at those weird angles. There were some people with pillows and some with steaming coffee in their tumblers... I just love those type of events ♥ I couldn't do them every weekend because the day after you're sorta dead on your feet but I try to do them whenever I can because I always have a blast!

And this weekend will be as awesome and as Hobbit-oriented as the FP is assembling (well, those of us living in France, I mean -crazybutsound is coming from Lyon and french_hobbit is coming from Tours) to go and see The Hobbit \o/ We'll have brunch and then we'll go see the film and have a jolly time together, hee I cannot wait!
