Happy New Year!
Jan. 1st, 2014 03:21 pmFirst entry of 2014, let's hope it'll start a trend and I'll post more this time around. This could be one of my resolutions for the new year. Original, don't you think?
Actually, I was thinking of what kind of resolutions I wanted to make, as you do (at any rate, you have to make resolutions in order not to keep them, don't you?) and I'm afraid they're just the same as last year, as in finish my thesis and read more - this is a bit embarrassing, even. I'm hoping my resolutions for 2015 will be different ;)
No wait, I'll add "cook more" - not necessarily during the week as we already cook our meals (and enjoy doing so) but I'd like to try more difficult courses too - maybe on the weekends when we have more time on our hands. Though when I say "have more time on our hands", I guess I should say "supposedly have more time on our hands" as, quite often, we're busy and out of the flat. Guess this could be another resolution, try and make it so we have more free time for us to just... not set a foot outside ;)
Anyway! A Happy New Year to all of you. Hope you had a pleasant night (as crazy or as quiet as you wished it to be) and that 2014 treats you well *hugs*
After a couple of changes, we settled on a low-key NYE at my parents'. Well, we'd planned on going to see a play before having dinner but Dad got sick and we thought staying home was a great plan too! Mom treated us with a gorgeous table and a delicious meal and we took breaks in between courses to watch the extras from their Downton Abbey DVDs. Dad made me laugh when he told me he was actually so impatient to see series 4 that he was ready to watch it English. This coming from my dad... who doesn't speak English and doesn't like subtitles! He turned into such a fanboy, it's adorable to see :)
We'd decided to stay over and went to bed around 2.00AM - I did say low-key :) This morning we had a cozy breakfast together (with our traditional NY's Panettone) and then Cookie and I headed home. We were supposed to go to her mother's but it was Cookie's turn to feel under the weather so we're having an unexpected quiet day at home.
Cookie napped, I watched Julie & Julia (so adorable!!) and now I'm going to answer my comments as I'm quite behind (sorry about that, guys!). Afterwards, I think I'll watch the latests videos uploaded by my BookTubers and then read a bit and I'll do all of this from the comfort of my couch and it'll be glorious ♥
