All hail, I survived work today! Despite very painful cramps that made me want to curl up in bed and never leave it! I had to admit defeat and cancel my plans for the evening, though, as I felt too rubbish. Which is why instead of being out with friends on this Friday night, I'm already in my PJs and in bed!
Best medicine is, well, medicine and a cozy evening. I'm spending it watching ALL THE THINGS! I started with some new 1D footage before catching up with Community (so good to be watching again! I'm quite enjoying the new season so far). I plan on watching more Banshee later on and right now I'm typing this while I (re)watch the first episode of Star Trek Continues.
You guys, have you heard of that project? I can't believe I hadn't till yesterday! It's a fan-based webseries funded by Kickstarter (it goes back to, like, 2012? Where was i?) and it means to "carries on the original five-year mission", meaning we're not following new characters and a new ship but all the original characters. It's top quality! Seriously, I'm so impressed, it's like watching the original series! I was hit by a bout of nostalgia right from the very second because it reminded me of being a kid and watching the show for the first time…
There're two episodes so far, which you can watch over at the Star Trek Continues website or their YouTube channel. The pilot, "Pilgrim of Eternity", is actually a sequel to "Who Mourns for Adonais", how's that for continuity? ;) Oh, and STC's Scotty is portrayed by Chris Doohan, James Doohan's own son.
Right, ok, can you tell I'm a bit smitten? :) I just checked and apparently the show is funded for three more episodes, lovely news!
