I'm absolutely knackered today. Angélique and I have been taking care of some business for my mother-in-law lately and we haven't had a proper weekend for a whole month. Yesterday we finally finished everything we had to do and this morning we're quite satisfied but also dead on our feet. So we're going to take it easy today. First, it's lazy time at la Casa di Mouse & Cookie, then this afternoon we'll probably go to the cinema and see The Accountant, followed with some lovely afternoon tea. Then we'll go back home for some more lazy times.
Mind you, my being knackered last night didn't prevent me from watching the new Class (especially as it was the highlight of my day and a reward of sorts for all the hard work). Episode 5 did not disappoint. Quite the opposite. I just love how each new episode seems better than the last. "Brave-ish Heart" even had some season finale feel to it.
Some spoilers, bullet point style again.
Where to begin? There were so many things to enjoy in that episode ♥
To make a long story short, there's a ton of good reasons for me to enjoy the episode (the whole show, really) plus scenes like this one, for instance. Which scene is responsible - although it's definitely not the only one - for giving feelings to my feelings.

Seriously... how could anyone watch this and not melt? I mean, even without context it's a gorgeous moment so when you happen to know the background story, there's just no way I could not be utterly in love with that show :)

- Ok, let's start with April. Nice, unassuming April who's always at war deep within, who defeated an alien war lord without losing herself and still managing to be ruthless. April who got herself an army she used to save planet Earth. April, who basically kicked so much ass in that episode.
- April and Ram, who are very sweet together. I wasn't sold on them at first, admittedly, but even then I absolutely loved how they interacted (especially during the sex scene). It's a relationship based on mutual respect and it shows with every piece of dialogue and interaction. So incredibly refreshing. They're adorable together and manage to fit the young love trope while being quite mature.
- Incidentally, the "I love you" not!scene made me laugh. It was such a clever and fun little scene - and quite unusual too. I mean, tv shows usually make their characters declare their love only after a week so that was quite refreshing as well ;)
- Ram talking about his religion, his background, his beliefs. In such beautiful terms too. Something else we don't see enough, imho.
- The parental units. Omg, so much love for the parents and the way the parents-children relationships are written in that show. Ram's dad, in particular, is my fave. Especially because he goes against every bit of stereotyping tv shows usually go for, especially seeing his background. He's such a loving father, involved in his son's life, engaged with his son's well-being. He's not afraid to show his affection and his support. Same thing with April's mom (obviously things were different with her dad but that bit was also quite interesting). I also love how the show focuses on their places; what I mean is they are the adults and the responsible ones in the story. Obviously, they're not without their flaws - and how much did I applaud Tanya when she got in their faces - but they never lose sight that it is their responsibility to protect their kids. I'm not even sure I ever saw parents a) aware of what was happening to their kids - and, by extension, to the world - and b) involved with them in that type of tv show.
- Miss Quill. I'm fascinated with Miss Quill, I love her but she has so many issues and can be so cold! Her wrath and need for revenge are actually scary; she is absolutely ruthless and so ready to make the world burn to avenge her people. That's quite a narrative, alright. Then again, right from the start, the fact that she was a terrorist/freedom fighter was quite fascinating in and of itself and quite a daring move. That character has layers upon layers.
- Charlie! Charlie and his moral dilemmas. Charlie and his vulnerability. Charlie and his fierceness. Charlie and his grief. Omg, I love him so much. He carries such a heavy load on his shoulders. I love how morally grey it can make him, enjoy the seriousness of it all. There is so much at stake here and he's right in the middle! He's so scared and lost and oh, Charlie!
- Matteusz! He totally shone in that episode. I love that he loves Charlie so much while still being able to question him when he thinks something is wrong and while still being there for him no matter what. He was such a rock there... acting and thinking and never losing sight of what is at stake. He was also so incredibly sweet. "I'll be your hope". Be still my heart!
- Charlie and Matteusz *__* Those two... whenever I think I've reached a plateau in my love for them, they decide to up the ante and make me fall in love all over again! They are so precious. Their scenes were gorgeous. Matteusz so protective, Charlie so lost, Charlie promising to let everyone die if Matteusz was killed, Charlie being even more lost, Matteusz promising to be his safe place. "I'm lost" "Then I'll find you". OMG STOP IT, OK? Except, never stop. Omg that scene at the end... I have no words, ok, I was just gone.
Plz don't kill either of them, show!
