castalie: (Season - Warm & Cozy)

It doesn't happen often but I had a long and leisurely lie-in both yesterday and this morning. Unusual because I rarely sleep so late but it felt quite wonderful! I was quite tired, due to having a pretty busy week, both at work and outside (especially at work, though, it was great but also dense). Work wise, I'm involved in a European project and one of the events for said project was this week: the whole team came to Paris and we had many meetings and seminars. It was fun and interesting but also tiring because I had to split my time between this project and other work stuff and also because it was in English, which adds one more thing for your brain to process. Not using your mother tongue for hours on end, or for a whole day in some cases, when you're not used to it can be pretty tiring, as it happens. But it felt good. I'm obviously used to reading and writing in English pretty much every day but I seldom speak the language so that was fun. The whole team is awesome, they're all clever, kind and funny people, I had a blast :) Can't wait for our next Big Meeting in October now, which should be held in Heerlen, Netherlands (woohoo!).

Something else that was a lot of fun was the weather. My, it was freezing the past two weeks. Gorgeous weather, bright and sunny, but boy was it cold! It was awesome lol Thank you, cold spell from Siberia, thanks to you I got to experience a real winter :) And! We had another snowfall, which didn't last the whole day but still made everything pretty and quiet and I was just spoiled ;) Today it's back to warmer temperatures and rain (we basically went from -8°C to 8°C in the course of a day).

As far as social life was concerned, I had a pretty "cultural" week, when I think of it. I went to the MoMa exhibit that was held at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, joined the team after work one evening at the Opéra neighbourhood and went to a wine bar with them (well, I didn't drink but they sure enjoyed the place), then we had our Project Dinner Outing Thing at Bouillon Racine, a fancy restaurant in St Michel (we had such a good time, too!). Then on Friday I was invited by a friend to a conference at the Jeu de Paume; it's a five-week cycle dedicated to gender representation in tv series over the world: the opening case study was Scandinavian series. It was brilliant. I can't go every Friday this month because I already have plans but I will attempt to go to one or two other conferences. In any case, I've already scheduled the one about LGBTQ representation in US series at the end of the month.

Then yesterday I went to see The Greatest Showman again (if you're counting, that would be my sixth time. Am I tired of it yet? Absolutely not. I actually think I could get one more viewing under my belt before it leaves our theaters).

As for today, it'll be chill day. We'll be going to my parents' to eat some cakes in the afternoon and, in the meantime, I'm planning on reading a bit. Perfect Sunday plan, don't you think? :) Hope you're having a lovely weekend, guys.
