Omg, I cannot believe we're leaving for Japan in three days. Three days! It's so odd, when you plan such an incredible trip, it feels like a lifetime away and then, bam! Only three days to go. It's going to be so amazing. I can't wait to tell you guys about all the things we'll have seen :)

In the meantime, work is being difficult. Remember when I told you we were basically "locked out" of the university? Well. The situation hasn't improved one bit. Quite the opposite. So my coworkers and I have been working from home when there's nothing that requires us to be out and about and meeting wherever we can when we can't help it - most of the time in another campus belonging to the university, or in a café when there was no alternative... it's getting absolutely ridiculous. Can't wait to be far away from the whole thing, it's going to be so good not thinking about work for a while :)

Fannish wise, I've fallen for not one, not two but three new shows recently. The first one, I've already mentioned in my last entry. I'm officially on board the Deception wagon. It's still ridiculous but in a very sweet and fun way, it doesn't take itself seriously and the characters are pretty likeable. There's the whole found family theme that I'm lapping up and there's even a darker tone to the main arc (mind you, as dark as these things can get in that type of shows) with the whole Cameron and Jonathan's storyline. As I was telling [profile] turps33, I'm hoping the show will get deeper into it as it progresses. I mean, it does look like it, which is a good thing because there is so much potential. So much! If the writers want ideas? I'll give them ideas ;)

Then, in quite a different genre, I've started and promptly finished McMafia. Has anyone else been watching that show? "Sweet and fun", this one is not, but I thought it was pretty solid from start to finish, it was gripping and there wasn't a single character that I didn't find interesting. I'm not sure they're planning a second series but I sure hope so. (When things got stressful, and things often did, I would play Make Your Own OTP, using Alex as my little black dress. In those stressful times, I ended up slashing him with basically every man he met: Antonio, Joseph, Semiyon, Oleg's politician friend, the one whose name I'm not sure they ever really told us, even Karel).

As for the third and more recent one (as in, last night) McMafia is responsible for it. I was looking for YT videos with James Norton (as you do) and one thing leading to another, I found my way to Netflix and lo! Found out that Grantchester was part of their catalog (the first two series, at least). I started watching the premiere and then found myself starting the third episode rather late in the night. Colour me charmed and interested. I can't help but enjoy those "cozy murder-of-the-week" mysteries, especially when they're set in the past. Especially when they're set in past-England. And with such charming characters, too. ♥

(I haven't watched the new Legion yet, I'm planning on keeping the two episodes for the plane)
