castalie: (Season - Warm & Cozy)

I wrote this entry during my lunch break, meant to post it after I got back from my Italian class (around 9.45PM) but had to eat first then was interrupted when two of my best friends called me back-to-back and it's now midnight, which means I need to post this entry right now or risk going to bed and then losing it to the ether.

Quick update, I'm feeling much better than when I wrote my last update. The issue is the same but I think I'm much more "chill" about it. I've decided to allow myself to deviate from my strict diet every now and then to avoid the whole "I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO EAT ANYTHING NICE FOREVER AND EVER OMG WHAT EVEN IS THE MEANING OF LIFE?" situation and I'll usually end up "paying" for it afterwards but, you know what? It's worth it ;)

So anyway, I'm in a much better mood. Except for the weather (since I'm referring to aforementioned last update). I have no idea what the hell is going on (that is, apart from the fact that the world is going crazy and the weather with it) but we're apparently back to Spring (if not Summer). This is really sad. We can sorta sea the leaves turning yellow and red but we're watching the show while wearing a t-shirt. Which... talk about dissonance. Please to be returning to us soon, Autumn?

Tv wise. The last time, I mentioned Manifest and New Amsterdam. Since then, I've watched the first three episodes of both shows. Manifest is, by absolutely no means, Lost but I did enjoy the premiere and felt like this could be a well enough exciting show... tuned in for the second episode and thought it was only ok and I'm afraid I found the third one was dragging a bit. What kept me going each time was the mini-revelation at the end of each episode which did make me want to watch one more episode, admittedly, but if things remain the same and they don't up the ante, I'm afraid I'm going to get a bit bored (read, not pursue). I don't want to have to wait til - almost literally - the last minute of each new episode to get excited and/or curious. So I'm a bit on the fence. It hasn't clicked, I suppose. I wasn't expecting a new Lost per se, but I was hoping for something along the lines of The 4400 or Flashforward (which I both enjoyed a lot back in the day). So far, it's nothing like that (for me, obviously).

New Amsterdam, now. Is your typical medical show but, what made the difference for me, is that I found pretty much all the characters likeable. They're all nice people, is the thing, with no chips on their shoulders, nothing to prove, they're not overly dramatic, not arrogant or dismissive towards others. I don't know, I mostly found them sweet and engaging. It hasn't "clicked" here either but I've been enjoying the episodes more than Manifest.

I'll admit that I'm a bit disappointed because I was hoping to find my New Favourite Show, know what I mean? Alas, neither of them did the trick (so far, one never knows). No, what I'm truly excited about at the moment is season 3 of Daredevil, which premieres at the end of the week. This! This really excites me, it looks like it's going to be epic and I cannot wait.

That sounds like a smart decision.

I haven't watched any new tv yet. Well, old stuff that's returning but nothing brand new, so I'm interested in what you think. That's a shame about Manifest, it sounded so promising.
