Bonne année 2020
Jan. 2nd, 2020 10:41 pmHello, flist. A very Happy New Year to you all. Here's to 2020 being an inspiring, kind, laughter-inducing, happy-making year.
My NY Eve was pretty quiet. Cookie and I were supposed to go see a play (two years ago we went to see the Singing in the Rain musical, last year it was The Nutcracker ballet, this year it was a - French - play) but alas, due to the strike, we had no means of transportation back home so we had to cancel. Instead we stayed home, cooked us a lovely NYE dinner, started the puzzle we'd purchased for Christmas and watched The Holiday. All in all, it was a low-key, super chill, absolutely lovely night :)
As have been my holidays, as a matter of fact. We spent a lot of time with family and just enjoyed our time off.
Speaking of lovely and happy-making! Thank you to
turps33,
spikedluv,
aswanargent, Brit and Tai for the cards. It's always so lovely receiving mail! Especially from abroad :) I'm thrilled to announce that the first batch of my own cards was sent off too! I did mean to do the Christmas cards like my fellow English and American friends but, I don't know, I guess I'm too much set in "French" mode, meaning that mine are more of the New Year wishes kind. Meaning that they're supposed to be sent throughout the whole month of January which, in turn, means that I actually sent them early since they were posted in December \o/
Tv wise, I'm trying not to miss Prodigal Son too much... not an easy task as I miss it as much as I love it. Which is a lot. Not that anyone would have noticed, I'm sure, I've been ever so subtle about it. The mid-season finale was brilliant and from what I read here and there, the next episode should be another intense (almost) hour of television. I cannot wait - except wait I will because the next episode is in 18 days 4 hours 9 minutes as I type this. (No, I didn't go as far as make the count myself. This is the internet... someone else took care of it for me).
I am kinda obsessed with Prodigal Son, but there is another show that stole my heart, namely The Mandalorian. Omg. Who could have ever predicted how sweet the show would turn out to be? I mean... forget about westerns in space. Isn't The Mandolarian the cutest show you've ever seen? It has become my and Cookie's go-to feel-good tv. The sounds that came out of mouths when watching that show had never been heard before!
Anyway. Yes. The Mandalorian was watched and cooed over. I've also started The Witcher. It won't be be a favourite but it's fun. Cookie was curious about the books and purchased the first one, I think I'll read it too. I'm curious as well.

Date: 2020-01-04 04:40 pm (UTC)I can't believe the strike is still going on. Everyone must be so frustrated by now.
I haven't seen The Mandalorian yet, but friends seem pleased with it, so it's on the list to watch asap.

Have you had the time/opportunity to watch The Mandalorian by now? If you have, what did you think of it? Did A Certain Character completely won you over like the rest of the galaxy?
