Aug. 5th, 2004 11:40 amShe's going to host all of S4 at Queer Eyes again - an episode a week like she used to do when QAF was airing *g* Which means that I'll be able to catch the two episodes I've never seen *bounces*
Speaking of Spider-Man 2 (QAF->Michael->Hal Sparks->Spider-Man 2); I went to the movies with Sandra yesterday, like planned. It was even better the second time around. Hmm, do you think it has something to do with the huge screen and the English version? Maybe... yeah, definitely lol I didn't squee over the Elevator scene this time, but I bounced a bit on my seat. Bouncing is the next best thing when you can't bounce and squee.
The Train scene was even better with the huge screen, like I said, and being in the middle of a theater with people around me, I realised I wasn't the only one to react the way I did the first time I saw it. I mean, don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore this scene, including the ending, but still... it's a bit too much. I even heard some snickers behind me. I wonder if it's not the kind of scene that is seen totally differently in the US and in Europe *ponders*
Anyway, this is a DVD I'll certainly wait with a febrile impatience. And seeing the movie came out not so long ago, it won't be for a while - but I don't mind waiting, so it's okay. Besides, I have my copy, right?
And since there is an Album shop at Bercy Village, I got myself three mangas : the fifth volume of Tokyo Babylon that I was missing, ES vol 2 and Ludwig II vol 2 - love me some historical yaoi *eg*
Kizuna vol 3 should be released on the 27th, so I know what I'll get by the end of the month *g* And my three missing volumes of Fake are still unavailable. I swear when I go to Saint Michel's Album, they're calling me The Cursed One - each time I want to buy vol 5-6&7, they don't have them anymore. It's been this way since Tai and Matt came to Paris, which was like at the beginning of May. At this rate, they'll have translated those three volumes in French! lol
On a different note now, I saw that FotoBilder should be available for Paid Users by the end of the month if everything goes according to plan? Lovely news *g*

Date: 2004-08-05 11:11 am (UTC)Also, do you really find so many flags in the US? Like, everywhere, all the time? Or was that because the action takes place in NY.
I mean, each time we see a movie or a program on the states, we see those flags all around, and I wonder if it's the reality or one of those stereotypes which doesn't really have that much of a true basis.

Date: 2004-08-06 12:06 am (UTC)Thanks for the explanation... I have to admit that seeing flags on cars and houses really seem ood to my European eyes. And it's something we consider as 100% American over here *g*

Date: 2004-08-06 09:17 am (UTC)In France, we have flags on mayor halls and I remember we had a flag on my high school, but you don't see flags over here. To be exact, you'll see little flags on buses for intance for huge celebrations, like Bastille Day or May, 8th, stuff like that but on a normal day? Absoultely not.
Like I said, it's really something we consider purely American and it usually makes us smile because it seems so alien to us.

Date: 2004-08-06 09:22 am (UTC)I'm not a huge fan of the flag flying at all. Like I said, it's a bandwagon thing. In American History, patriotism surges (predictably) after something like 9/11. The thing that bothers me about it is that that's the only time it does. If you're so patriotic, why not do it all the time? Yeah, only after I tragedy. Blah.
I'm moving to Canada or Europe in the future.

Date: 2004-08-05 10:12 am (UTC)*rofl* I use that exact same excuse to go from QAF to Spiderman2. It just clicks right, and that's how my brain works! ;P
Nah, it's not just you with the train scene. I thought it was okay, but some people I've talked to have a real emotional tie to it. *squints at scene* Meh?! ..okay, maybe I'm just not emotional girl, but I was more like "okay, would you like some wine with your CHEESE?!" about the scene. Liked it, but definitely not a fave in the movie.
Oh, and if you could
