Random is my world - nothing new here.

Something I enjoy tremendously with LJ land? How you learn stuff without even noticing. Oh and I'm not necessarily talking about, you know, quantum physics material, but little bit of trivia - like other fandom, other media, whatever. It's like you're assimilating to a certain extent your flist's own addictions. You can't possibly be interested in everything known to fangirl - and as far as addictions go, I think I have my share - so I'm not saying I'm interested in everything going on in my flist per se, but I never dismiss it either and in the end, I become more knowledgeable in subjects I never heard about before I added so and so on said flist.
Yeah I know, could I be more randomy? Well, sorry but it's just that I was friendfriends surfing last night and while reading someone's thread I saw an icon and I immediately recognised Carl from The Libertines and it just struck me as funny, is all, because see, not so long ago I didn't even know about the band's existence, like at all and now... I can recognise the guy and even tell you some stuff about the band's history.
Well, I think it's just incredibly funny and pretty interesting how the whole thing works *shrug*
Speaking of cool LJ stuff, I received yet a new card today, from
whitevanilla this time. Merci, la carte est adorable *g* I really love receiving Christmas cards - they make me smile or melt or they make me go 'wow, it's beautiful' and sometimes they just plain make me laugh like mad, like
absinthfire's one which succeeded in being both Christmassy and geeky. Your Polar Bear totally cracked me up, girl lol
Aaand because I didn't speak about Christmas enough already. I'm half-way done Christmas shopping wise. We went to the mall yesterday morning - and even survived. And I did my second tree decoration in less than a week, since The Sis and I went to my grand-dad's in the afternoon to decorate the house. All in all, a sorta busy weekend, but filled with lovely stuff *g*
And now... now I think I'm going to snuggle up in my bed and put the Back to the Future DVDs I bought yesterday anddoze off in front of watch it, because my cold decided to defeat me, the little bastard and suddenly I don't think I'll last long in front of my computer, after all *g* Btw, about the aforementioned DVDs? Can you believe I got the box set for 25€ only?? The three movies for less than 30€... and on amazon it's not even 20€. Wow... some things are just beautiful, you know? lol

Date: 2004-12-21 12:01 am (UTC)I totally agree this learning via LJ is a cool thing. I have a passing knowledge of so many fandoms even if I've never seen the show.
Who needs degrees when you have LJ? ;)
