I'm knackered. Might have something to do with my sleeping only three little hours last night - just a hunch *rubs eyes* I had quite a lot to do today in addition to going to the uni, but everything was accomplished... if a tad sleepily now and then maybe, because, yeah *yawns* So when I went back home, I rewarded myself with Hornblower goodies - I visited archives, saved some fics, found myself a shiny and pretty icon [courtesy of tanacawyr] and I just downloaded a vid. The usual when one gets hooked on a new show, I'm preaching to the choir here, right? Huge thanks to my Hornblower pimps, and mucho gratitude *g*

Something that pleases me a lot is that even though I only have two episodes/one movie so far, if I want a little Jamie Bamber's fix, I can turn to my five episodes of BSG immediately. It's true what they say, diversity is the spice of life, yo! And speaking of Battlestar Galactica? How many episodes aired so far? Cause I was wondering, would someone be willing to burn my missing episodes for me, please? We could trade - now that I have a living working CD burner and all *g*

Also, damn. I'm this close to add 'jamie bamber's voice' to my interest list, I swear! The guy is reading a story to me [or you know, reading a story on-line, period] and guh! I chose a reading when he's not using an American accent, because American accents leave me cold and there's nothing sexier than an English one so I switched to his reading of Half-Sick of Shadows by Graham Masterton [vampire story if you're interested] and did I already say guh?

Finally, without the slightest segue and because I can never let the Desktop meme pass without playing, no matter how many times it shows its meme head, here is mine. It's the same one I posted right after I came back on-line not even three weeks ago, but let's pretend I'm playing again for the more recent additions to my flist, shall we? *waves* And if you want to play, reply to this entry with a link to your screencap. Well, I won't post my desktop again 'cause you've seen it in Oceana's journal, so let me spam you with something else - this is a great recap of the exceedingly complicated X-Men universe. Why am I telling you this? Because some of the characters you'll encounter in 1602 will suddenly make a lot more sense if you read this, and because it is so funny I had tears from laughing even without being in the fandom per se. :D

The way I see this stuff, crack is just crack - good whether it's about slash or just general weirdness. Slashiness is another addictive substance, but usually contributes to something being cracktastic.

Well, Hornblower would be sorta, like, Master & Commander (http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/EpisodeGuideSummary/showid-13833/Horatio_Hornblower/) in spirit. Battles against the French, and the Spanish, ships, discipline, gentlemen, friendship, angst, all rolled into one. Horatio and Archie make a fantastic duo. Little bit like Jim and Blair. You can't help but slash them, know what I mean? lol But okay, from a strictly canon gen POV, their friendship is beautiful. I love them to pieces *cling*

And it's both. It's a book-series first and a tv-series second. Or more like a series of two-hour movies. And actually, Archie was made up for the tv series - how lucky I was, seriously! lol
