Segue-ally Challenged Post
May. 26th, 2005 10:13 pm#1- Did someone find a torrent for the newest Lost episode? If there's one at TorrentSpy I missed it. Also I'm trying to avoid downloading it at TvTorrents cause I sorta lost all my credits after downloading something for someone and even the updloading didn't save them so I'd like to not totally kill them. So yeah. OMG I SO FUCKING MISS BTEFNET *sob* [ETA: Okay I have the link. THANKS!]
#2- Okay re: the
ts_ficathons's discussion I'm seeing all over the place, well I just have one thing to say. I thought the ficathon rocked beyond the telling of it way before all those old skool names joined the list - it's not making me love it more now, know what I mean? I'm happy on the mods' behalf cause it shows their idea was, indeed, one hell of a good idea since it's bringing so many people [86 names? Dude!] but I already knew that, so that's nothing new. The fandom isn't dead, well I already knew that too. So all in all, I already worshipped the ground the Mods walk on for setting the thing up in the first place *shrug*
#3- I'm afraid I officially lost my E.R tape with "Be Still My Heart" and "All The Family" on it, The One With David Krumholtz - I looked and looked to no avail and I just want to cry! I mean, how did I lose that tape? How! It has the episode that makes me cry each time I see it right from the beginning just thinking of what is going to happen later on. And now I could focus on something else thanmy tragic girlfriend Lucy and Carter, ie focus on psycho!DK and no, I can't! This is beyond cruel.
#4- Something else that is cruel is that I just realised the exam I have tomorrow doesn't last two little hours like I thought but four like all the others. I'm still hating the world over that one.
#5- And since I'm talking about RL. I might have found a job for August *blink* Not even kidding. Also, there are two types of job I'm always trying to avoid at all cost, and this is one of them. But tough, there's a time for everything and this is clearly the time for not being picky, so there.
#6- I'm in SW withdrawal like you woudn't believe! I want to watch RotS again RIGHT.NOW! But I can't. So hmm, instead I'm just going to put one of my Original Trilogy DVDs. Yeah, I'll do that. L'Empire Contre-Attaque will do just fine. And who cares if they air it on Monday, I'll just watch it again then. Cause see, sometimes life is cruel, and then sometimes? It's not.
#7- That's too funny! So the spell check thingie here? Doesn't accept Krumholtz - what does it suggest to replace it? Criminality. That just amuses me somehow... Yeah okay, never mind *cough*
#7b- OMG I so miss Numb3rs too! "Uncertainty Principle" is next on my To Watch list *clings*
ETA: You learn the most interesting things on LJ *hugs
numb3rs_notice* Look at that! Different Numb3rs: A What If Story - Charlie sans curls and a Different Partner. Seems like there was a different Alan cast originally, too. Wow, I love those bits of a show backstory *g*

Exactly! I knew my flist would understand the tragic of the situation. And it had Charlie too!
*grins* Dare I ask what it is? Or is Terri right?
No she wasn't, though I wish she'd been - it's not that bad at all, I was just being a drama queen lol It'll just be awfully boring, is all *g* Well, it's not set in stone, yet, anyway *g*

I haven't seen the episode where Lucy died for years (because I find it so sad) so I didn't realise it was Charlie that killed her O.o!

Don't worry, I don't want to know until it is set in stone cos I don't want you to jinx it telling me ^^;!

Date: 2005-05-26 09:09 pm (UTC)Actually that pic is of the actor who was cast as Don's original partner- not the other actor playing Don.
I'd love for this sucker to hit the internet at some point.

Tell me about it. I'm really curious to know how that Original Numb3rs worked, now. It also amuses me greatly that the thing that 'traumatises' me the most isn't even the cast thing but the sans-curls thing lol I'm sure the original cast would have been good too - I quite like Michael Rooker to begin with - but well, once you get used to a particular cast, you just can't imagine someone else in their shoes *g*

Date: 2005-05-26 09:26 pm (UTC)For me the one thing about Numb3rs that carries it over the top is the acting and the chemistry between the characters. I can't imagine this show with another cast. And after all, the network did ask for it to be reshot.
One thing that struck me from lalla's link was that the original Don was born in 1972- that makes him much, much younger than Rob Morrow...

Date: 2005-05-26 09:36 pm (UTC)I love that lol Yes, it was.
Oh I'm right with you on that one - the character dynamic is what got me hooked on the show. Each time I pimp Numb3rs to someone - and pimping the show to the multitude has been my mission this season, with lot of success too, btw - and they asks me if it's another cop show, I always start writing an essay on how no, it's not 'another cop show', it's so much more than that, and then I ramble about the wonder that is the chemistry between pretty much all the characters and just thinking about it makes me happy lol
1972... yeah, ten years definitely makes a nice difference.

Date: 2005-05-26 10:32 pm (UTC)Re #2 - Thanks. *bg* The whole thing is just too totally cool - and everyone's going to get 80+ stories to read in July! All good.
Re #3- AAAHHHH! The guy with the knife who killed Kelly Martin and injured the tall guy was DK???? I've watched a total of 3 ER episodes, I think, but I watched that one b/c I'm
really illinterested in dramatic tension, and WOW. That is so cool, man.Re #4 and 5 Good luck, and... um... let me guess. Some job where you have to wear a funny hat?
Re #7b YES, yes yes! I'm watching it tonight!! I am so in withdrawal. :)

Date: 2005-05-27 07:00 am (UTC)#2- You're welcome *nodnod*
#3- YES YES that was DK! That's fucking incredible, isn't it? *bounces* And see, I'm in love with Lucy, so this episode... really was special, just in a painful kinda way and I taped it and now it's gone! And I fucking want to see it again because OMG DK! He also played in a third episode, still the same character. I wish I could find those three. But if I'm not mistaken, ER is airing again here, so I just have to be patient, as in REAL patient and wait for those episodes to arrive *sigh*
#4 and #5- Thanks. And no, thank god for that lol It won't be too bad, I'm avoiding the uniform and the punctual stupid hats this time *g*
#7- I may watch it tonight too - after we celebrate my birthday. Rumours have it that I'll have one hell of a present from the parental unit + grand-father, so I may even be able to watch my CD from my bed as of tonight! But I'll know for sure tonight, so in the meantime *fingers crossed*

Date: 2005-05-27 03:20 pm (UTC)Thank you!! *bounce* We were so excited when we got like 30 sign-ups that first day it was announced! And we had some pretty famous names then. *vbg* It's wonderful that the 'old skool' authors decided to host their 'old home week' at our ficathon, 'cause the more fic the merrier, or something like that, lol, but we're just pleased that so many people thought the ficathon itself was a good idea, even before it was 'co-opted'. *g*
