It's about friendship

castalieCame back home in time for TS, which is always a very good thing - well, I missed the first fifteen minutes, but it's on tape now anyway...
It was "Flight". Not one of my favorite episode per se, but one with some of my favorite moments. In particular when Blair, after being offered a dream expedition to Borneo, turns it down to keep on staying with Jim, and helping him. I mean, it was the very first big sacrifice Blair made for Jim - all for friendship (translate : for love) *g*
You know, when Blair is pictured as this guy who's allergic to commitment, or prone to run away when things get a little too tough, I always wonder where the characterization comes from. I just can't see him that way, not after he keeps on proving to Jim (and to us) how much he's committed to him and tothem as well, know what I mean?
I mean, in this episode, we see Blair following Jim to the jungle to save Simon and Daryl when he doesn't even know what they're going to do, and how they're going to do it. He just decides to leave with Jim, because a) Simon and Daryl are his friends too and b) he's Jim's back up, period. And then, like I said, he turns the offer down to stay with Jim. It also looks like a prelude to his final and definitive sacrifice at the end of the show. That's Blair for you, all right *schnuzzles Blair*
Now, and because I'm apparently.
Jim: You want to go along for the ride?
Blair: Yeah.
Jim: Then you do what I tell you, when I tell you. No questions asked.
Blair: So what else is new?

Jim: Thank you. *looks over to see Blair putting on a parachute as well* Sandburg, what the hell are you doing?
Blair: I used to go skydiving with a friend of mine. I was actually pretty good at it.
Jim: This isn't some weekend lah-di-dah here, Chief. It's the jungle out there. You come in wrong, you could get hurt.
Blair: I'll take my chances.
Jim: I'll see you on the ground! I hope. *jumps*
Blair: I can't believe I'm doing this!
Sandoval: God be with you, senor.
Blair: That's great. Right now, I can use all the help I can get! *jumps* Oh... my... god! Jim! Jim! Jim, where you going? I don't know how to steer this! I've only jumped tandem!
Jim: Sandburg!
Blair: Oh, my god! Help me!
Jim: Pull on your right!
Blair: Help! I don't know how to do this! I was just kidding! Don't leave me!
Jim: Sandburg! Pull on your right!
Blair: Jim, don't lose me! Don't lose me. Watch where I'm going! Come and get me, please! Help me! Oh! *lands in a tree; hangs suspended there* Oh, great. Really great. Oh, please, please, please, please, please. *pulls a strap and falls from tree, rolling down hill* Oh. Oh... goodness. *stands and pulls leaves off him, then starts dancing around*

Blair: Oh, wait a minute, Jim. I got something in my pants, man.
Jim: How exciting.

Blair: Well, actually, I've already decided not to go. This sentinel thing... You know, it's more than just a research project. Uh... it's about friendship. I just didn't get it before.

Jim is trying to tell Blair to stay home, and Blair is explaining him how things work - thank you very much. See, Blair is always there - no matter what! What a beautiful team *sigh*
How lovely - romantic evening around a campfire:
See, it's a romantic scene - hey, they're in the jungle, there's a campfire, they're both more or less relaxed, they're alone, it's romantic, right? - but it's also pure Jim and Blair : geeky!Blair intent on finding whatever is wrong with Jim's senses, and stubborn!Jim who's shutting him out.
Alpha and Warrior!Jim:
Doesn't he look fierce? And alpha male? Warrior!Jim is a sight to behold - and we all know how much was impressed, read 'turned on' by said sight *nods*
It's about Friendship - yeah, right - can you spell L.O.V.E?
Blair baby just turned down the expedition to Borneo, and all for Jim - and that's not a proof of love? Yeah, right! Who are you trying to fooling TPTB? *shakes head* And it's just the first, either!

Well yes, they're just so fucking cute *sigh*
They're good individually, but together they're always so much more:
Yeah, definitely love them together, no matter what! lol
