Read my flist and wow - freaking out posts all around and some good dose of apocalyptic predictions. What would LJ be without its drama queens, right? And no offense, btw, I could be there too. So SixApart bought LJ - or should I say EvilSixApart did? Cause from what I read, this is what happened. So what's the deal exactly? Are we going to lose everything we hold dear around LJ land? Our beloved interface, our precious freedom of perviness? What? Are they even going to change anything and will we even notice? As you can guess, I never even heard about Six Apart, so yeah. And since you can't really trust your flist to stay rational when facing changes, I still have no idea about the changes that will really occur... if they even do as a mattter of fact.

And now two random facts :

Fact #1: Wesley is so a male version of Ally McBeal! It's not exactly my fault, but see I watched "Guise Will Be Guise" in the middle of the night again last night and when he so ungracefully fell down on his cute ass, I had a vision of her. That was weird, granted, but what can I say? Then again, it was 3.30 am so that may be an explanation *cough*

Fact #2: Cordelia-Wesley is unbearably cute! I already thought Sam-Daniel was, but wow, I think they're beaten by The Cuteness That Is Cordelia-Wesley. I guess their behaving as if they were 5 year-old siblings uncapable of holding a normal conversation without being snarky and bitchy toward one another after more than three minutes has something to do with it.

Because yes, AtS can be cute as well as dark, didn't we establish that already? *g*

And now... now I'm back to studying while hoping that the next time I refresh the flist, I'll find the new episode of Lost because LOST THURSDAY, man!

PS: Oh and I'm going to start a major Amazon smiting session - there's something wrong going on and my parcels aren't making it. They've been lost, and twice actually. This sucks *pout*

I'm not panicking about the buyout at this point. I tend not to like change, and I've seen too many instances where a company buys out another company and the culture of the bought company changes. The whole thing about lj is the culture that we've built over here.

But... there's also a good chance that nothing will change, and that's why I'm not panicking.

It seems my flist got calmer as time passed, but seriously the first posts? Were a tad OTT - and considering how the LJ population can go OTT on a regular basis, it's saying something *g*

I don't like changes myself - the thing is, until we actually see that some changes were made, there's no need to get all panicky and bitchy as if Brad had made a deal with the antichrist, but well, we all see a same situation differently, so yeah... *shakes head*

Wes is one sexy dude - here again, we see the contradictions in him. Sometimes he'll look guileless, like a little boy, then he'll look all sweetly geeky, then the next scene, he'll be all intent and just sexy. Add to some that stubble and I can see why you would drool over the icon lol

My flist started to freak too, but having a bnf who also works for LJ calmed things down when she addressed some of the worries. Personally I'm in wait and see mode. There's not really much else you can do.

I think people on LJ panic too much - and you should have seen some of the posts on my flist.it was almost ridiculous. I get that we all see a same situation differently, but when nothing happened yet? It's a tad silly to me, sorry *g*

*g* If you’ll read Brad’s post in LJ News -- http://www.livejournal.com/users/news/ -- it doesn’t sound so bad. He said he refused to sell to many people who *would* have changed LJ, and sold to SixApart because they seem committed to not rocking the boat with the LJ people and communities. He said what we’re likely to see is more - and prettier - ways to personalize our pages.

SA also posted a blurb about how they don’t want to change LJ. Both parties sounded upbeat and enthusiastic. I figure, if we wait it out, nothing bad will happen. Really, SA wouldn’t want to lose the paying customers, so I can’t see them being too heavy-handed. I think it’ll all be cool.

Exactly my thought, I'm pretty sure we won't see a difference, and even if that's the case, it's way too early to panic or bitch or whatever. This is something that is sometimes annoying on LJ, how everyone starts to see the worst in any kind of change without even knowing anything. As if it was the cool thing to do, you know?
