I did a ton of things today, was out of the house for a good part of the morning and afternoon and I still managed to OD on my beloved series. Man, I'm good!

So what did I watch?

Stargate SG-1:
Okay so I was excited about the idea of this new SG-1 and I've been impatient for S9 to premiere for months now, right? Well holy shit Batman, I was not disappointed! I loved it! Avalon aka Squee of the Holy Order of Squee )

So wheeeeeee! Am a happy camper *g* Can't wait for the rest of the season *bounces some more* Will watch the ep again before going to bed, too.

Battlestar Galactica:
Man, I love that series so much! There's such an intensity to it, I'm always impressed by it. It's dark, it's gritty - I mean, it's not Oz-dark but it has its own type of darkness and I can't get enough of it. There's not so many series that have me holding my breath without even realising I'm doing it. It's all because of the pace - it doesn't give you a break. It's so fast your head is spinning - oh and the drums? Still perfect. I don't have anything specific to say about "Scattered" except that I kept falling in love with my favourite characters all over again and it felt good. I'm impatient for "Valley of Darkness" to air now because from the preview, it seems it'll be a crazy ride too *is impatient already*

Lost:
Tonight was "Raised by Another", "All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues" and "Whatever the Case May Be" and it's just wild how much I'm falling for that series all over again *blink* I'm also discovering a new love for some aspects of the show. Will contain spoilers at one point )

QAF 511:
The file was pretty bad so it was a little difficult to follow at times but there's still this moment that I adored )

Oh and this has nothing to do with the rest but I got my copy of HBP today. The Mom offered it to me, actually, which was the sweetest thing ever *g* I'll read it when I'll read it though, no rush for me. I'm a fan of the books in the sense that I have all of them and enjoyed them a lot, but nothing more, so I'll let the flist go crazy over it... as well as go crazy about the spoilers too. Just from a distance, is all *g*

So I watched QAF 509 and there was this scene that killed me dead Spoilers )

And I watched 510 too and ohhhh but that was as good as I expected *bounces* Now I'm desperately trying to find a working link for 511 but the poor little guys are being solicited a little too much I'm afraid and they're all dying in front of me *pout* I'll just wait for someone to upload the episode again *g*

With the ending of 513 that I downloaded plus the episodes I watched, I'm happy to say that I found my QAF love again. Which just makes me feel all tingly inside because QAF! *hugs Michael and Ben and Brian and Em and Ted and- yeah okay, stopping now*

Oh and this morning before heading for work I watched The Dead Zone 401 and YAY! Er yes, that's all I have to say for now, sorry *cough* Except that I prefer their French voices - I mean, seriously. So I think I'll wait October when R2 is released here to buy the DVDs, after all. Like that I'll have the two.

And no work tomorrow since it's 14 July, yay! Sleep in! Work on my [livejournal.com profile] ts_ficathons - til the last moment and all that. Fanfic! I just love bank holidays *happy sigh*

Hee QAF 501-502 finally downloaded and I finally watched it and yay!

So. QAF review in one-liners. Because I'm sorta busy and I have a headache and I want to prove to myself that I can do short and concise.

QAF 501-502 )

So yeah. Good start, me happy. And okay, I sorta kinda fail at short and concise. Well, tough. But that's still quite short anyway.

Changing the subject now. So far I couldn't wait to be in July for SG S9 but now I realise I'm quite impatient for another reason, namely [livejournal.com profile] ts_ficathons - 43 participants... 43 slash stories - well minus our own, so let's say 42 - to read. 42! I mean, wow! Christmas will come earlier this year *g* [ETA: Hee it's 49 participants, now! Wow.]

Oh and no Revenge of the Sith tonight after all. Has been postponed until tomorrow. Also, SW is everywhere these days - so I was at the uni today [second exam of the week - woke up at 5.45 am too] and we were like six or seven girls at one point and our topic of discussion? Not the concil of Chalcedone nor any other concile, not Nestorianism or monophysitism either, nope - Star Wars, old trilogy, new trilogy and stuff. Lovely *g*

ETA: I love love love Naono Bohra's work!

Saturday with no Numb3rs to download... there's something horribly wrong with that picture. It feels like something vital is missing, which yeah, is exactly what it is, granted *sigh* I thought of downloading something else - just to fill the void - but well, since btefnet is gone, I don't have the same DL reflex... Also, I have enough CDs that I need to see and enough episodes of whatever series to catch up with. Though they will have to wait too.

Hey did I tell you that I received my Queer As Folk - Definitive Collector's Edition DVDs yesterday? Well I did - and I started watching them last night - or early this morning, you know the drill - and oh the joy! *happy sigh* Actually I started with the deleted scenes cause I just couldn't resist the temptation and I'm kinda glad I did because yeah, they were of the good *g* Also, QAF UK is one of those series which makes me fall in love with it all over again each time I go back to it. As much as I love QAF US - and I truly do, well so far - it can't compare to my love for QAF UK. It's more realistic, grittier, just... more. Better. For me, I mean *g*

I remember watching that series back then - I didn't know what slash was, I hadn't come out to myself yet - and I was hooked on the thing. Totally killed my tape, too. I - literally - watched it all summer. As a matter of fact... I watched the first series over and over again just before leaving for China and see, that's when I met [livejournal.com profile] babycakesin - right there, at the airport... well, we hit it off immediately and we started chatting before we were even on the plane - in a way, we just never stopped - and I remember talking to that girl who was a complete stranger about that gay series I was obsessed with, Queer as Folk [and boy did I have trouble pronouncing the bloody title, too], where those guys shagged each other all the time and I rambled passionately about Vince and Stuart and just man! Do normal people really ramble about queer shows with lots of sex to people they don't know from Adam? Yeah, our relationship really started brilliantly *beams*

But anyway, this boxset is going to be one of my most cherished possession and I think I'm going to watch it at night - that's when I watch my DVDs the most, during the night - for a long time to come *g* Also hey? I was quite stunned to realise that I didn't dislike Nathan that much anymore... not to go all Stuart-ey on you but though he's still annoying - well, he's fifteen, after all *cough* - he's not the twat I thought he was, and that was quite the revelation, believe you me *nodnod* But he's still not in the Favourite Characters List, sorry, Nathan. Vince is still firmly #1 though, but then, how could he not? Also also, now that I got into Doctor Who a bit, I'm having a blast each time he mentions the series *is a dork too*

It makes me want to find my Stuart/Vince icon now *sigh* But in the meantime, GIP - of the Charlie persuasion. Because I'm still addicted to that scene and I need a fix, and this icon will do nicely *clings* [livejournal.com profile] enigel? You may forget about my request - my icon will do, as simple as it is *g* Though if you did something, I'll still snag it. I like collecting icons, it's no hardship lol

Wanna go back to bed *yawn* But can't *pout* But hey, since Sandrine cancelled our afternoon's get together, it means I'll be able to come back home and rest after Pt 1 of today's activities is over, so it's okay.

Part 1 of yesterday's activities went well - part 2 not so much, but you get used to it. Anyway, my granddad is finally leaving the hospital in an hour or so - which is why I'm in a bit of a hurry, not that you'd notice considering I'm here, mind - so let's focus on that. It's not going to make anything better health wise, but at least he'll be in his own house and he'll finally get his peace and quiet back - that has to count for something, so yay!

On the fannish front - I managed to code one more challenge yesterday, and I think I'll do more this afternoon, or this evening depending on when we're back from pépé's. Terri and I decided on a plan, so expect some major updates at ST in the coming week. This should be nice *g*

Also, Monday night, I downloaded QAF 405, so now? I can officially say that I saw all of QAF - without a single episode missing - ie not a single Cursed Episode either *preens* And as for the fourth season, it's all thanks to [livejournal.com profile] paddies. Could I be more grateful?

Won't write a big review or anything, but I just had something to say about Ben in this episode. )

And finally, I did the Battle Royale meme that I saw on several people on my flist, but I won't paste the code here. The thing is, the LJers that were in the results are people from my flist that I don't really have any contact with, so it wasn't as funny. No offense *g* But I can still tell you that my weapon was coffee of all things and that I'd killed 24 students - which when you think of it, is pretty much an exploit considering my weapon lol Also, my goal in the game was to earn a degree which is kinda ironical everything considered. And my last word was 'Why?' which isn't really original, but okay why not lol

Didn't go to sleep before 5.00 am last night - well, this morning, obviously. One of the reasons why I couldn't go to sleep was this really odd sound coming from my sister's bedroom that sounded like a baby crying or something. Do I need to mention that a) there is no baby in the house and b) there is no one sleeping in that room since my sister moved out a couple of months ago? It didn't stop all night and I have no idea where it came from exactly and what it was. It was disconcerting... and when I say disconcerting, what I mean is it was bloody freaky, thanks.

So even if I'd felt like going to sleep - which wasn't really the case anyway - I couldn't have because did I mention the freaky sound? Yeah okay, I just did.

What did I do, then? Because everyone knows you're dying to know *rolls eyes* Well I re-read a bit of one of my favourite TS zines ever, ie Changes and then I watched QAF - 101, 102 and 103. So okay, watching QAF isn't exactly the best way to make me sleepy, but at least it relaxed me enough that around 5.00 am I felt like I could close my eyes without the feeling that something was, you know, lurking in the shadows *cough*

This won't come out as a surprise but boy how much do I love this series, really!! And the Brian-Michael scene on the hospital roof? So.beautiful. I mean, I always say - well, to [livejournal.com profile] babycakesin, I mean lol - that when I try to pick a favourite scene in that show, it's almost humanly impossible because I have so many of them - and incidentally, they usually always include Michael in the equation : my favourite scenes are usually Brian-Michael or Ben/Michael ones, maybe I sorta have a slight Michael-obsession going on lol

That being said, even while I say it, there's always this one scene that pops into my mind immediately, before any other : the scene in the hospital corridor in 218, because this scene? Has to be my favourite obviously *g* It's so powerful and so moving and so very beautiful - I'm always compelled to rewind it... several times, I love it that much.

Anyway, back to the point - I think the scene on the hospital roof in 101 comes next... maybe also because it's the very first time we really get to realise the love between those two guys (friendship or otherwise, depending on your own ship) and because when you watch the whole show, ie when you know Brian and Michael inside out and you come back to it, you also realise this scene was pretty much a perfect introduction to them as individuals and as friends. I mean, it's like this short scene sums up their relationship and their dynamics perfectly - in my eyes, I mean *g*

There are lots of scene that I love like I just established, but I guess if I had to start from the top... well, those two would come out first. Though it would definitely more difficult to chose a Third Favourite One because at this point? Lots of them would have the right to belong there and would fight for it lol

Oh! I'm watching TS right now (I'm at the second episode, which is "Blind Man's Bluff", btw *happy sigh*) and you know the whole Obfuscation scene in "Black or White"? Well the French adaptation is really sweet.

First your 'obfuscation' is our 'sublimation' and second, the exchange between Simon and Blair, when Simon says that's it's B.S to him? The English version has Blair answers that No, it's a form of male bonding and in French? He says it's masturbation lol
