Eternal life... is super fun!
Mar. 19th, 2013 01:59 amWeekend in London went by too quickly. We had a blast, though! The whole family had a wonderful time and loved the city. Of course they did, seems like everyone in our family falls in love with London when they visit for the first time ;) Cookie and I had planned all the visits and everything went smoothly. We started with a tour around Westminster followed with a stroll in Saint James' park til Buckingham Palace before heading to the Tower of London and ending at the London Bridge. We made two stops, respectively in a lovely restaurant under a church in Westminster for lunch then in a Starbucks near Saint Paul's cathedral to get warm and rest our legs ;)
Saturday morning was spent at the British Museum, we then brought everyone to The Euston Flyer for lunch, a pub we love on Euston Rd. We made a stop at the British Library before heading to Covent Garden followed with a visit to Picadilly Circus in the evening. I couldn't be in London and not go to Waterstones, could I?
Our train was leaving in the early afternoon on Sunday but we had time to go the Kensington Orangery for a full English breakfast - it's such a gorgeous place and everything they serve is always delicious, it was a hit :)
So that was the touristy part of the weekend. Cookie and I also had ourselves two little fannish moments; first on Friday night when we abandoned everyone to go to the Book of Mormon show. It was absolutely fantastic! I already loved it but seeing it live? Is a whole new experience! I still wish I saw the original cast but this cast was brilliant as well. So much talent, wow.
And! On Saturday... we saw James McAvoy! He's currently playing Macbeth in London and we wanted to see him on stage but it didn't happen so we thought we would try to go and see him at the stage door instead. So when the family went back to our hostel Saturday night, we faced the cold and the rain (honestly, the weather was quite lenient the whole weekend and the rain was kept to a minimum, we were lucky) to wait behind the theater and lo, we got to see him! He's a sweetheart! ♥ There were around a dozen of us waiting for him and he signed everyone's programs, took pictures with all those who asked him, and had a few words with everyone. It was lovely. He was lovely #TeamMcAvoy4Ever
( A dozen pictures of the trip )
So that was my weekend. Hope you had a good one too :)
Unrelated now. Tonight I went to see Silver Linings Playbook and it was such a gorgeous film! It wasn't exactly what I expected but it was so much more somehow... very touching, very sweet, difficult in places, and the acting was stellar. I had a blast, I'm so glad I went. I already loved Jennifer Lawrence, I now see why Cookie loves Bradley Cooper so much. I've never really been interested in the films he played in but he was awesome as Patrick. I'd planned on seeing The Place Beyond the Pines before, but now I'm really impatient to do so.
Funny thing is, ever since Cookie and I purchased one of those unlimited cinema cards I look at trailers differently. Before, I only went and looked for films I already knew I wanted to see, now I look at those trailers and I can't help but want to see ALL THE FILMS!
