It might be just me, but I think there is something Very Wrong with a day that finds you at work at the same time that your work!Starbucks opens its doors, meaning 7.30AM. Tomorrow will be such a day. I'm proctoring exams this week and tomorrow is the worst; we have to be at the university thirty minutes before the first exam starts and said first exam starts at 8.00AM *pout* Also, today was a prime example of Murphy's law; impressive. Hopefully tomorrow will go off without a hitch.
Unrelated. I know that when one is very behind some of their favourite shows, one should try to do some intensive catching up (though we did catch up on The Vampire Diaries, if not on SPN or Community or The Walking Dead. And we're really sorry for that. Really) but Cookie saw her Untitled Posse on Saturday night and when she got home she was all "what if we gave Misfits a go tonight?" So that's what we did. It went well. So well that we watched the first series in one go :-) And I might have ordered the box-set (series 1 and 2) mid-watching.
British shows rock. They have that special flavour that I absolutely love. Misfits is no exception. Even though the show plays with a cliched trope (ordinary people getting super-powers after a freak accident) it still manages to look different. My favourite character is Simon. Awkward, cute, weird, creepy Simon lol Though I'll admit that I'm into all the characters and enjoy each of their storylines. The episode I call the Curtis Episode rocked!
Anyway, twas nice to discover a new show and I can't wait for my box-set to arrive. I have the feeling we'll do another marathon whenever we get it :-) Oh and a question to the Misfits fans around here - if I even have Misfits fans on my flist. That is, apart from Rosen and Cathy, of course ;-) - how many seasons are there? Just the two? Was the show picked up for a third series? What is happening to the show? *Has No Clue*

Date: 2011-01-10 07:56 pm (UTC)Awesome Freudian slip lol Guess you were just thinking of Harry and Perry when you wrote that part, right? lol Then again, "kiss each other" would be more accurate in that case ;-)

(Did Community start again? *even more clueless than you*)

Date: 2011-01-16 09:31 pm (UTC)I have no idea whether Community started again. I'd say no because most shows are only starting to come back next week but I could be wrong about that. We need to investigate, methinks.

Date: 2011-01-16 09:33 pm (UTC)You totally should check it out, it's kinda brilliant. Creepy and funny and gory and sexy and touching and just crackilious in places. It's a lot of very good things. But I know it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, it's also a bit special, I guess.

I completely agree with your take on the britsh shows' uniqueness.
I'm happy Simon is *already* your fave because see, Nathan was my fave in s1 and then he was knocked over by Simon good and proper! Thank you s2 and your mindblowing Simon character arc!
