Guitar Hero is made of win. The French Posse is made win. A weekend spent (among other things) playing Guitar Hero with the French Posse is.made.of.win. Aka How I had a Kick-Ass Weekend with the FP :-)

It started with a little seasonal activity on Saturday evening: [livejournal.com profile] greedy_dancer had brought some chestnuts to roast. We participated in a little workshop to get them ready - which is harder than it sounds, slicing that little X on them is hard work! - and once roasted, we ate them with some tea and milk. If that wasn't a lovely start, I don't know what is!

Followed a little tv marathon as we watched the four episodes of FlashForward - the girls hadn't seen any of it yet - and episode 1x05 of Glee. First fannish quota was met but we decided to geek the night up; twas time for some epic Guitar Hero Battle! GD had brought chestnuts with her, [livejournal.com profile] moimoietmoi had a spare guitar. We came prepared, baby! Our instruments of love behind the cut. )

Playing on your own is great, right? Playing against someone is awesome! Even if that someone is GD and she kicks your ass. Never mind, dude, Sam and I still scored and we even beat her a couple of times! We won't mention the fact that she always played one level higher, right? Right, it'll be our secret.

Time flies when you have fun with your fellow geeks and 4.00 AM came before you knew it. Sam went to bed and GD and I managed to watch a couple of Panic! videos on YT before we followed her lead.

Today started at noon (which isn't that late considering when we went to bed) with some nice breakfast - which kinda has our names on it, I just realised )

We proceeded to watch some more tv - Fallen, which is totally lame and cheesy but, well, I kinda got into it? And the girls did too, don't let them tell you any differently. Then we caught up with Glee and watched 1x06 and 1x07. Man, that show ROCKS LIKE A ROCKING THING, I love it so much! ♥ ♥

And from, say, 4.30 PM to 7.40 PM? We played Guitar Hero again. It's so addictive! So, yeah, awesome weekend, all right :-)

Did I ever talk about my upstairs neighbours? Don't think I did. They're ok, quiet most of the time and polite. They're also musician wannabes. Which, ok, I do think it's cool for people to try out different instruments - and even though they might not be consistent, they seem pretty open so more power to them - but, between you and me? I can't wait for them to stick to one instrument and! More importantly to learn how to play it. Properly.

Last couple of months was the guitar. This month? It's djembe. Every evening (that is, every evening when I'm home but I'm pretty sure it's every evening) they do a little djembe jam. Did you know that five-year-olds love banging the shit out of a djembe? Because they do. I'm hoping they'll get tired of that one soon and start playing, I don't know, triangle?

As a result of my neighbours being all musician-like, I decided to rock on too and finally christen Guitar Hero. Totally the same thing, dude. I LOVE it. I'm definitely not ready to enter a competition yet but I'm having a lot of fun. I foresee some Guitar Hero nights with The Esu and friends in the near future.

Changing the subject. I watched the three episodes of FlashForward last night and I liked it. I wasn't blownaway but I'm still hooked. Only problem is, I can't help but being worried this will be another Lost. I mean, I don't want the show to go in all directions without ever reaching any destinations, know what I mean? That's why Lost, well, lost me. So I'm going into FlashForward almost reluctantly in a way, except for how I quite enjoy the premise. I always loved the whole 'fate' theme - are we bound by it or can we make our destiny? Seeing all those characters try to fight against their future is really interesting.

And it's also fun because you speculate the hell out of the show, like this spoilery one ) Oh and what about Bryce? I'm hoping we'll get to see more of him because he's the character I latched onto the most spoilery comment again ) And so many familiar faces, too! Ruby! Zoe! Dude-from-l&o:suv etc. etc.

In conclusion, I do like it, but I'm just hoping I'll stay interested :-)

Sometimes you win at life, and sometimes you don't. I think tonight was a demonstration of the latter. I was meant to go and see a play after work (the amateur-but-as-good-as-professional kind of play) and we got lost. Which is even more frustrating as we were all good to a certain point and then... we weren't. I suppose the bright side is that it was held at Montmartre so we wandered around and, yes, it was lovely, meaning all wasn't lost, but it was still annoying. So close and yet so far *pout*

Changing the subject. I had a lovely weekend. Went to celebrate my nephew's 3rd birthday (my, how fast do they grow up! I can't believe Lucas will start kindergarten in September) and had a blast with tbf!Sandrine and a couple of her friends. Then on Sunday I was all domestic and shit as I did some laundry and some cleaning (my life, so glamourous sometimes).

And! I set up the Wii Fit and played for an hour. Dude, how awesome is that game? My favourite parts are the Hula Hoop and the Steps, I think. Though the Yoga part is pretty nifty too; I totally kicked ass at the Tree Posture \o/ I have very good balance, my Wii Trainer and the Wii Board both told me. They can't lie, right? Right!

I felt fine this morning, just a little sore but nothing painful as such, but as the day went, it started to hurt more and more. Co-Worker A. was asking me if it really works and if we really feel the aches in our body afterwards, and I now can tell her that 'hell yes it does and we definitely do'!

I also bought the Ultimate Band game (it was so cheap, how could I resist?) and as soon as I know how to play correctly, I'll create my own band. Which I'll call Summerlin [/bandom+wii addict]

And in non-wii related news; Cookie and I passed the little exam we took last week :-)

The Big Project that I'd been slaving over at work for the past month came to a conclusion yesterday, and everything worked out just perfectly. I was so relieved. And proud! As well as insanely happy to finally be able to bid it goodbye \o/ Farewell Seminar From Hell, I do hope to never see your face again!

I was so ready for a nice and relaxing evening last night and I certainly got my wish. Cookie and I had some Chinese take-out and then we finally set up my - brand new - wii. And proceeded to 'try it out'. Like for three hours straight? Without even noticing. That thing is so addictive! And so much fun too. We started with Les Lapins Crétins (Raving Rabbids, I think?) and just laughed our assess off. This game is insanely stupid but in the most crackilicious way. Mind you, sometimes you laugh so hard you can't play correctly and I think it's really unfair to lose points like that. They should totally give us some 'I-was-too-busy-laughing-because-this-is-all-so-silly-so-it-wasn't-really-my-fault-I-missed' bonus points. Or something.

And since I had a Fnac voucher, today I bought a second wiimote so that I can play against someone else *bounces*

Oh, and I finally had the time to sit down and read my very first BBB this afternoon \o/ And what a gorgeous fic I picked, too! Let Each Who Is Worthy. I'd been dreaming of reading that kind of mormon!Brendon fic forever. And it was even better than I thought as the story is GSF and that's like the best thing in that fandom because sometimes I just can't choose which pairing I like best? But with GSF it doesn't matter because you don't have to choose! You have all your favourite pairings gathered in one Super Hot and Most Amazing Mass Pairing, woot! I still haven't let her a feedback, so this rec might be a bit premature on my part but I felt compelled to rec it and I promise I'll comment later on.

Changing the subject now but it's something I've meant to ask for ages and never got around to; does anyone know/like the show K-Ville? They've been airing it lately and I really enjoy Boulet and Cobb's dynamics. Trouble is a) I missed the first episodes and b) I'd love to see the show in English, but I have a hard time finding torrents. Could one of you help me, please? Tia.
