Uni and Big Top being over, today was my first day of vacation! Saying it was a beautiful day would be the understatement of the century :-)

I spent most of it with [livejournal.com profile] angeliksmall and her almost unbearably cute nephew. Program was : lunch + Christmas market at la Défense, then detour to Bercy Village where we visited some more shops before having a break at Starbucks. Then we had a little stroll in the park. After that, off to our respective homes we went. All in all, a great day was had :-)

Christmas markets are love, and the best stalls of all? Are the one with the food. I'm apparently in a very piscpammy mood these days because here come some pictures I took )

And on fannish news, fandom gave me one of my Christmas wishes! I was dying to see a video of Brendon recording 20 Dollar Nose Bleed - well, I was dying to see anything related to Brendon recording that song - and what do I find on my flist but a video of just that! Oh, fandom, you make my dreams come true, I love you so ♥ ♥

Despite work being a bit crazy - it was like Boss Man couldn't bear the thought of not seeing the lot of us for two weeks and wanted to keep us all as long as possible with him - I had a great week and I've been in a very Christmassy mood all along.

Cookie helped a lot cause we had ourselves some lovely and/or fannish and/or christmassy evenings as she spent three nights at my place. Or was that four? Anyway, she lived at my place more than at hers. Thus, I'm sure, convincing Nosy Coworker that we are, indeed, together, as she thought - never mind the fact that she doesn't even know Cookie's sexual orientation in the first place. But apparently being a friend of mine means you're automatically a lesbian by association. And if we're friendly? Then we're A Couple. QED.

It made us smile to hear about the news and we're both playing it like we are indeed together that way. The secret is to keep a straight face - ha! - when we talk about 'romantic dinner' and stuff like that. It makes for a lot of fun :-)

Anyway, back to the Christmassy activities - in picspam, cause I love picspams.

First it was Christmas lunch at work )

Then we went to W&H Smith where I bought my - first - Christmas presents and we made a detour to see the the beautifully illuminated Galeries Lafayette. )

And there was one evening when we wrote our Christmas cards while watching Christmas films. )

All in all, it was great :-) Also, to keep with the theme and because [livejournal.com profile] babycakesin asked for a pic of my Christmas tree, here it goes: my tree and a bit of the decorations that go around it )

And since I was talking about cards - mine have been posted yesterday, btw \o/ - I received a bunch of them so a heartfelt thank you to : [livejournal.com profile] katikat, [livejournal.com profile] strippedhalo, [livejournal.com profile] turloughisere, [livejournal.com profile] babycakesin, [livejournal.com profile] moimoietmoi and [livejournal.com profile] yami_tai! Checking my mailbox is always so delightful this time of the year! ♥ Also, Tai! The pressie arrived at my parents', thank you again!!

Tomorrow is Last Big Top so, right this minute, I'm 98% on holidays for two weeks! Pure bliss :-)

Victory! I finally managed to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] whitevanilla and her lovely sister after work \o/ It was so good seeing her again. She was a doll and suggested we went to a Starbucks but they were packed so I decided it was just fate and thought it might be better to go to a bakery instead, so we had our hot drinks - yummy milk with vanilla - and pastries at Paul's.

Twas a nice way to end the day. Though admittedly today at work was far from being traumatising. Cookie and I even had time to have a lightsaber fight in my office - courtesy of our co-worker J who lets us play with his iphone whenever we want! Also? Iphones are made for dorks!

Wanna hear something ironic now? It snowed again this weekend in Ile-de-France. Where was I when this happened? In the south of France. Where it didn't snow a single snowflake. But the truly ironic thing? Is that Antibes is, like, an hour drive from the mountains. And real snow. An hour drive only! And because the weather was rotten - it basically rained cats and dogs all weekend - we had to stay at my friend's flat and couldn't go. So here I was, just an hour drive from the mountains and the snow - I could see them from the window! - unable to go, when it was snowing at home. Life, it hates me sometimes.

But whatever, we had a great weekend at my friend's. Tbf!Rissy and I hadn't seen her and her kids in way too long and it was grand. Also, five-year-olds and seven-year-olds are a hoot. Oh, and I had my first Christmas decoration session on Saturday evening. With Christmas songs as background music. Just after having hot chocolate in the Christmassy mugs I'd bought for the kids. And myself. So yeah, definitely my kind of program :-)

Like I said, it rained pretty much all weekend but we still managed to visit a little on Saturday before we just gave up and went back home. Our clothes were soaked. I thought we'd all get pneumonia, but turns out I'm a bit of a drama queen because nothing of the sorts happened. So, anyway, I took some pictures of the old Nice - we landed there - and I'm sharing three of them under the cut, for those who like that kind of thing.

Old Nice )

And it's December today! They lit the decorations in the streets in Choisy! And I ate the first Kinder from my Kinder advent calendar. And our Big Top has been put up this morning so Big Top season is officially on! And we have our first Big Top weekend this weekend so I can also officially say goodbye to my weekends for the next three weeks! But I don't care because it means it's Christmas season ♥ ♥

I've seen many entries about Christmas cards and I was in awe because, wow, I haven't even thought of the whole Christmas cards thing yet and half of the flist seems to be making lists and planning things so early, and then I checked my mailbox and, oh surprise, I received my first Christmassy order !

It's nothing big at all but it's just so cute I couldn't resist. So I now have two people crossed off my to do list - hee sounds a bit kinky - meaning that I'm totally one of those people who start buying stuff in November \o/

I'm bragging now, see, because I'll soon lose my advance, and that's a fact. By then, I'll be one of those people who write their Christmas cards after Christmas /o\

One of the drawbacks of buying presents so soon, though? Is that not sending them now and having to wait till next month is torture!

Anyway, that was a lot of Christmas thoughts for just little me and I decided to keep with the theme so I made myself hot chocolate for dinner - who needs proper dinner, dude! And it's not just any hot chocolate but the real kind. When you buy chocolate and melt it and then add the milk oh so slowly while twirling delicately? That kind. So yummy! It's a bit like homemade mashed potatoes; ridiculously simple, and yet so good and happy making!

And speaking of happy making. D-1 till I have a [livejournal.com profile] yami_tai home! D-1 till The Hoosiers gig. And D-2 till our little visit to Camelot! I'm crossing my fingers and hoping a) we'll be able to go and b) we'll get the same kind of weather we had today. A bit cold but sunny. Perfect for a little adventure in Picardie, methinks :-)

And yet another wonderful Christmas to add to my collection :-) I'm too lazy tired to type it down here and, anyway, I've already written it down in one of my little notebooks where it matters, so no review, but suffice it to say that it was fantastic, as usual, with a gorgeous table, delicious meal - saumon fumé! Fois gras! Snails! All my favourite Christmas entrées, wheee! - wonderful company, as usual - though we were missing one cousin, which sucks but we did call him at midnight. That is, our midnight, as it was 10.00 AM for him - and then the presents, received and given, filled us with glee because, hee, spoiled much? :-)

I never get tired of the Christmas atmosphere; there's excitement in the air and, sure, we're used to being together but there's this special Christmas touch, which makes it even more intense and enjoyable and I just love it!

The 25th was a lazy day and we all basked in the Christmas afterglow, which is a time I enjoy a lot too; it's all lazy and cosy and quiet and, yeah, mucho love for those days *loves*

I'm back in Choisy now and feel soooooooo lazy! I could catch up with my shows but it almost demands too much effort lol Still, I'm trying to coax myself into leaving the flat to at least do some groceries as a) my fridge is sadly empty and b) I was planning on baking some sablés, following [livejournal.com profile] babycakesin's recipe. Go on, Mousey, you know you want to! It's not even that far, and you'll have a lot of fun baking afterwards *is still negotiating with self*

Oh and my paid account was going to expire soon so I treated myself with a new one and I now have two more icon slots \o/

[ETA: Cheaper by the Dozen is apparently on the telly and I happened to switch channel right when Jared Padalecki decided to make his first appearance. That is some impressive timing, people! And he looked really pretty... even playing a jerk :-) I love him when he's being badass *nods*]
castalie: If you know who made this icon, please tell me so that I can properly credit? Tia (Dean!Squee / mediocrechick)
The past two nights I've had some pretty freaky dreams. Or should I say 'nightmares' since they woke up me both nights. Not brusquely or anything, but I did wake up and it took me some time to go to sleep again. I totally should write them down in one of my little notebooks. Try and see if I can make sense of them somehow. Though they were different - the three of them as I actually had two last night, a sort of continuation, but not - they kinda followed the same theme. The more I think about it, the more curious I get *is curious*

Anyway. I had a great day yesterday; I went shopping for my last christmas presents with tbf!rissy, we ate at Paradis du Fruit, then we went to a second mall - an open air one - where we admired the decorations, strolled in the alleys and ate chichi/churros while listening to a mini-group of gospel singers sing Christmas songs. Couldn't have been more perfect :-)

And today. Oh today is the day! Christmas Eve is finally here, wheeeee! Later in the afternoon Mom and I will be going to my godfather's - Christmas in the country, nice! - and the rest of the family will join us a bit later. I have no idea what we'll eat tonight as my aunt wanted to keep it a surprise. She sounds excited about it and it delights me to no end *g*

Til then I need to clean teh flat and once it's done, it'll be fic reading and cheesy xmas movie watching for me \o/

A Happy Christmas to you, and to those who don't celebrate a good day too ♥ ♥

I meant to get home not too late yesterday and start writing my Christmas cards but I got detained. Sorta. I went to my parents' place to help with some stuff and then The Sis and BIL arrived and we decided to install the decorations outside the house. It took some time because it's not easy putting them up like that and we had to macgyver some hooks with coat hangers and stuff.

Also, there's a sort of law that says that each time we install the lights outside, it has to start raining. It never fails. One of those laws; Jim loves Blair. Sam wants to fuck Dean. It starts raining when we install the lights. When Mom got home she was like 'get inside the lot of you, you'll get sick. Sicker. Something' but we wanted to finish so we didn't. Because we're obstinate sometimes. And a bit stupid. Besides, it wasn't raining that much. Just enough that it was annoying, really.

And then, as a reward, Toinette - friend of the family who's staying at the parental unit's - decided to make some crêpes. I just couldn't leave, right?

Oh! New SPN this week! ♥ ♥ I really can't wait to watch the episode, I miss the boys way too much when they're not around *clings*

Speaking of SPN; remember the fic I wrote a couple of weeks ago? I don't think it'll see the light of day, after all. I'm just not happy with it and though I never claim to write the best fics in fandom at least I love or like every single fic I post. This one is just off and I can't seem to be able to fix it, so either I rewrite it all one of these days or I just forget about it; 1400+ words sent back into the ether, it would kinda suck but it happens, I guess *shrug*

Okay, entry break done, back to work now...
castalie: If you know who made this icon, please tell me so that I can properly credit? Tia (Counting... / danaewhispering)
1. Having a day off after two weeks without any and knowing you won't have any for two more weeks. I sound like a broken record these days with all my 'dude, I'm so tired' but I can't help it! I'm so tired! Work is kinda crazy these days and then Winter Job is trying to kill us all. Yesterday I worked from 9am to 5pm and from 6pm to 2am. I looked like a zombie lol I don't know how my dad does it; he sleeps like three hours a night for most of November/all of December *is tired just thinking about it*

2. Going with my mom to a not!tree farm and getting our respective christmas trees.

3. Having the time to meet with the French Posse in the afternoon and going to the theater with them - we saw The Golden Compass. I quite liked it, twas a nice Christmas film. I think I'll go and read the rest of the series now, to see how it's gonna end. And also see if I like it better this time.

4. Getting home and finding a Christmas card in my mailbox. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] katikat *loves*

5. Decorating the tree and Teh Flat! Very First Time I decorate my place ♥ ♥ Incidentally, I did a little picspam, which I dedicate to [livejournal.com profile] turps33 since it was #8 in her wishlist, IIRC.

The Christmas Tree )

And the other decorations )

Dude, I so love Christmas :-) Despite the crazy schedule, who needs sleep or days off, anyway, right? *yawns*
castalie: If you know who made this icon, please tell me so that I can properly credit? Tia (Winter! / eyesthatslay)
I can't believe we're in December in two days! I already feel a bit hyper :-) I also already started with the Christmas spirit by watching Shrek the Halls and ohhh I loved it! Admittedly, I'm a sucker for everything Christmassy but, still, it was great.

Actually, it reminded me that I need to work on my Christmas DVD collection; I must have, what, two Christmas DVDs? Love Actually and Fêtez Noël avec Mickey et ses Amis - shut up! It's really not a lot. My mission the upcoming week will be to try and add to my collection.

Also, I think I'll put up my tree - that is, buy it and then put it up - next week, on the 8th. I just realised that I do have a day off before the 23rd, after all. Better make the best of it.

I might even start writing some of my Christmas cards, too! Though that might be just a little too much, eh? I mean, what would people say if they actually got a card from me in time? When I bought my first cards a couple of weeks ago or so, the lady at the till was all impressed at how early I did things. And I was like 'I did buy them in advance. Doesn't mean they'll be sent in time, lady!'

Hmm, wonder how many times I said 'Christmas' in that entry?
castalie: If you know who made this icon, please tell me so that I can properly credit? Tia (Snowbound / crazybutsound)
This is it! Christmas Eve! The Esu and The Famous Five - minus two, sadly - plus One Cousin will arrive later and we'll spend the whole day together, having a good time because that's just what we do, right? *g* Then late afternoon, we'll all cook our Christmas dinner, as per tradition, and then we'll dress up and we'll spend hours eating all the yummy food we've made, maybe playing some games in between two courses, and then at midnight, woohoo! Presents! After that, well, we'll continue having fun because the excitement usually doesn't abate before many hours lol

And tomorrow we'll do it all over again, only the atmosphere will be even more relaxed and lazy because that's how it always is when we bask in the Christmas Eve afterglow *happy sigh*

Yeah, I'm a bit excited, why do you ask? :-)

Anyway, I'm here to wish you a Happy Christmas Eve and a Merry Christmas Day if you're celebrating. And if you're not, it's okay, I'm still wishing you good things, anyway. So, dear flist, let's say in conclusion:

Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-day & night ♥
castalie: If you know who made this icon, please tell me so that I can properly credit? Tia (Side by Side / angeliksmall)
Had some nice Christmas interludes today. It was Christmas Lunch at work for a start, and then I finally started writing my Christmas cards when I got home. First batch should leave tomorrow. Wow, ten whole days before Christmas and some of them will leave France for their new homes already! Will wonder ever cease? :-)

I was watching Jeremiah while writing them and I was wondering - does anyone has the two seasons and would be willing to burn them for me? I could give you another series in return if you want to? We could do a little Xmas exchange thingie? Without the surprise effect but hey new series to watch!

And since I'm asking for stuff; does anyone know where/if I can find Wedding Wars? I'm aware it might not be the best film ever made but I'm a sucker for cute romantic light films and hel-lo, Sean Maher as John Stamos' boyfriend? I'd love to see that!

Unrelated now. I've listened to tonight's The Archers twice. OMG! Sweetest episode ever! Twas even better than I thought it would be. Hee I'm doing an LJ CUT for THE ARCHERS! )

Incidentally, I also quite enjoyed last night episode. Well, they really went in pair, anyway.
castalie: If you know who made this icon, please tell me so that I can properly credit? Tia (Light & Shadow / extracookie)
Hello flist, this is Mouse, posting from home. I woke up this morning feeling fine then suddenly I wasn't feeling fine at all anymore and had to call in sick. I'm waiting to see whether I'll be okay to go this afternoon or if I'm looking at a whole day of feeling queasy and exhausted. Oh the excitement!

On the bright side, it did give me the opportunity to finally watch both Supernatural and Dexter. I couldn't last night; see, when I got home from work yesterday, and with my Christmas classics firmly on, I decorated the whole house - hee Christmas tree! Shiny and pretty decorations! Mini Christmas village near the fireplace *loves* And when it was done The Esu came over and the three of us went to my grand-parents' place soon-to-become The Esu's place - the interior looks so different now. It's not completely finished yet but it's a different house altogether. Which suits us just fine - different generation, different style - and we put up the decorations on the facade. We had to mac gyver the whole thing with cables and tape so that a) some of the decorations would stay in place and b) the plugs and sockets wouldn't get wet, and in the process we got wet and, man, it was so cold! It was for the good cause, though.

But anyway, all that to say that we got home around 10.30 pm and then I didn't have the time to catch up with my shows. Which I finally remedied this morning. So. This will be quick because I'm tired and all but one thing is sure there will be spoilers behind the cuts. Let's start with Dexter 1x11 - Truth Be Told ) And then let's move on to Supernatural 2x09 - Croatoan. Or say, THOSE two scenes. )

So to make a long story short: I might feel like crap but SPN and Dexter definitely helped me feel a bit better :-)
castalie: If you know who made this icon, please tell me so that I can properly credit? Tia (On the Road / dev_earl)
Second Big Top weekend has been survived. There were monkeys this time. La Globule and I were all kinds of paranoid; we were certain the little lights of our fluos plus the lights on our little Christmas hats would annoy and/or intrigue aforementioned monkeys and they would jump on us and, like, kill us or something? But nothing of the sort happened. There was also this comic duo that just killed us every time they did their act; they made us laugh like crazy each time we saw them. There were five showings throughout the weekend, we saw them do their stuff five times, with the same result.

Still haven't had the time to watch "Croatoan". I thought I'd watch it on Friday then we had some work to do for Saturday and then I thought that it didn't matter, I'd get to watch it on Saturday as a reward and we're Monday and still nothing. Well, maybe tonight? Supernatural followed with Dexter. Maybe.

One thing is sure - well, hopefully - today, after work, I'll put up the Christmas tree and and all the decorations inside and outside the house, wheee! It will finally be all christmassy. Twill be good :-)

I also bought some Christmas cards during lunch-break. Dunno when I'll send them - I'm usually late with that kind of things - but at least they're bought! Well, some of them *cough* Not a single christmas present has been purchased though but that's nothing out of the ordinary. I see people get all stressed out over the fact that they haven't done all their Christmas shopping and it makes me smile because in this household? Doing it three days before Christmas is actually 'early' ;-) No stressing before that... We haven't even shared our lists. Though come to think of it, maybe we should just try to do something about that soon? Yes.

Unrelated now, after the news about Jensen going to Asylum - wheeomgJensen! - I had, for the first time, an actual J² scene popping up into my head! I have no idea whether I'll turn it into something - I've never really thought of writing RPS myself, but if the RPS wants to be written, well, you never know *g* Having said that, I also started a little "Night" ficlet - wanted to give the boys a break for Christmas and write something sweet, or as sweet as this 'verse allows - but I haven't added a line since last week, so I don't know. Maybe I'll feel freer to write as soon as I'm less tired and Big Top is over and stuff *g* Again, we'll see!

PS: Speaking of the con; to those who're going? [livejournal.com profile] frayen created the community that goes with it, namely [livejournal.com profile] asylum_con... I've been so jealous of all those people going to conventions and having their own communities, and now I can play too!
castalie: If you know who made this icon, please tell me so that I can properly credit? Tia (Intensity / scrollgirl)
Today was Dressing Up day it seems. First la casa di Mouse since I did the tree and house decorations - with my cousin Sandrine's help as I'm still not completely mobile and everything - and the timing was just perfect as right after it was finished, I was able to put the very first Christmas present under it. [livejournal.com profile] french_hobbit, thank you SO MUCH! The whole parcel was so incredibly fantastic, from the CDs to the ever so beautiful card and eeek wrapped present! So it's under the tree and everything *hugs the hell out of you*

Then I did some CL decorating as well as I put up the oh so gorgeous banner [livejournal.com profile] sori1773 made for [livejournal.com profile] sentinel_thurs and wow, the comm looks so beautiful like that! *is proud*

It also made me think of TS presence on LJ and all. I mean, back in the early days of my journal I had no TS icon, I had, like, one TS fan on my flist - *waves at [livejournal.com profile] turps33* - and the fandom seemed kinda absent from LJ. I remember that time quite well, I kept whining to Terri about the fact that I wanted - no, needed TS lovers on my flist because there was something missing there. And look at the situation today! I uploaded my seventeenth Jim/Blair TS icon, I don't count how many TS people I have on my flist and we have several Sentinel comms to play with and just - well, it made me happy, is all *sappy sigh*

Completely changing the subject now - though I'm still talking about two men in love with each other - French Posse? What would you say about going to see Brokeback Mountain together? If you haven't planned on going with someone else, obviously. Unless you think you'll see it several times, mind :-) I'm not sure any of my friends will fancy going and I just thought it would be awesome if we could go together - us being slashers and all. So just in case - and we have time til 18 January, of course - I'm asking here and all *g*

And there's Narnia of course. And I still want to go and see GoF a second time. Dude, I can't wait for Friday: first break of the year, wheee! Well of course, I took two days off the uni when I went to London but Winter Break is, you know, official and it's two weeks and I've been waiting for that break since september so YAY! The Esu and I will work through January but it'll only be for the weekends so it's still quite cool :-)
