I had an interesting day! Spent the whole afternoon (well, from noon to 4.00PM) in casualty to keep company to one of my co-workers who had earned a trip to the hospital after slipping on the ice-covered concrete right in front of the university. They let her out in the end and she's ok but that was definitely not her day. Many people fell today, admittedly, including yours truly. I hurt my foot and tonight my neck is hurting as well - though the culprit might be the uncomfortable seats in the hospital, I don't know. See if I care, though, because I have tomorrow off. Which is a Very Good Thing.

After the "excitement" of the afternoon, we're having a quiet evening. We have White Collar in the background (I had a sudden craving for Neal and Peter and El and Diana and Jones) and we're officially starting on our (on-line) Christmas shopping. Funny thing is that my sister is also doing some on-line shopping apparently as I've received some text messages about Miss G's Christmast list :-)

We watched the series finale of Merlin this week. I enjoyed the last two episodes up to the climax... which I actually found anticlimactic, so the Big Moment disappointed me a bit. But everything that happened before made me very happy. I'm really looking forward to the fourth series. Wonder what they have in store for us. And whether we'll ever get an episode where this happens )

Speaking of what writers have in store for us, I've seen some spoilery photos and a trailer for White Collar 2x11 and heee so we're entering spoilery territory here ) Should be a lot of fun :-)

Just watched the White Collar summer finale - I'll accept any kind of punishment Miss G will deem necessary to mete out for my having watched the episode without her but I'm afraid I couldn't resist! - and only thing I have to say is spoilery for the episode, obviously ) Well, no, that isn't the only thing I have to say because I loved the episode and have some squeeing to do, thank you )

Also, [livejournal.com profile] krazykipper! Tell me it wasn't just me who shivered a little at this particular line ) Wasn't that a delicious line? :-p

Anyway, I could mention many other moments I loved but to make a long story short, I really enjoyed that summer finale and January can't come soon enough *makes grabby hands*

PS: this doesn't have anything to do with anything but I might be planning on seeing Inception a third time? And I might be hunting down JGL's films and guest appearances in tv shows. Not that I'm getting obsessed or anything!

PS2: even less related to, well, anything but I found my glasses! I'll be picking them up tomorrow. Now, must prepare for people's reactions *braces self*

Take 2

Some shows are so adorable, aka how I watched White Collar 2x07 and kept giggling and cooing at the screen due to its level of adorableness. Incidentally, I have a question: "Prisoner's Dilemma", an ode to Peter and Neal's epic love story, Y/Y?

I have many favourite scenes/lines in the episode - Neal sulking when he's not getting his way or pleading to get his way is a joy to see - but Peter's "there's a reason why they made me work with a male CI" comment was quite inspirational. What does he mean "that's why"?

Does it mean that T-FBI-PTB don't always have a problem with inappropriate relationship between FBI agents and their CIs and they actually wanted Peter to complete his set of Pretty and Smart Brunettes with Big Blue Eyes? Because they knew he already had Elizabeth, but they wanted Peter to have one of each sex so they gave him Neal? Aww, how incredibly sweet of them! They do care about their own, at the FBI!

I can't believe there're only two episodes left to watch - how long will we have to wait for the rest, btw? Same thing with True Blood. I'm gonna miss them. And I still surprise myself whenever I think "miss" and "True Blood" in the same sentence but there you go. I will miss it. I'll miss Eric and Pamela and Lafayette and Jesus. Good thing it'll be Back-to-TV season soon and I'll get SPN back as well as Community - just to name two shows on opposite ends of the spectrum.

Which reminds me that I need to check the list and summaries of the new shows coming up this autumn. See if there's something that strikes my fancy. I already know of The Walking Dead but the trailer freaked the hell out of me (sharks, zombies and clowns - bane of my existence) so I don't know if I'll watch it. Or maybe with the FP. Because GD is always as scared as I am at stuff like that and seeing Sam mock us for being wusses and not be afraid is always amusing me. We'll see :-)

Oh, and this has nothing to do with anything but I'm in an Eames/Arthur kick as of today and on my quest to find fics to read I also found this entry, another fandom remake of Softer World. I usually enjoy those a lot but I'm especially smitten with that one.

A couple of days ago, we completed our True Blood s2 marathon and tonight we're catching up on s3... by tomorrow we'll be up-to-date and ready to download with the rest of the fans \o/ I'll be honest and acknowledge that Sookie sorta grew on me; I started right in the middle of can't-stand-her, then took a turn at ok-maybe-I-can-tolerate-her to end up at maybe-I-like-her. Will it ever be true love between Sookie and me? I want to say 'no' but one should never say 'never' so, who knows? I didn't change my mind about Bill, though. I still find him boring and useless. My love for Eric only grows stronger whenever I see him and I wish we saw more of Pam because I love her too. And I need a TB icon now, I think!

Between mainlining True Blood and (finally, the novel has been sitting on my shelves for ages) starting Night Watch by Sergei Lukyanenko, my weeks has been sponsored by Vampires R Us, it'd seem.

We also watched White Collar 2x02 and omg, I loved the episode so much! I rewound so many scenes, so many times, that the episode ran for much longer than the average forty-two minutes lol I think I'll watch it again tomorrow because I'll need my fix of adorable white collarness soon ♥ ♥

Ok now if you'll excuse me, I'll go and eat some more slices of watermelon. [livejournal.com profile] nicelyobsessed has helped herself with a new plate and I can smell it from accross the room. I need a second helping as well *off to gorge on watermelon*

I'd seen the stills but not the actual videos of the awesome USA network crossover spots and I'm glad I saw the link over at Twitter because it'd have been Very Sad to miss them. They're love!

The vids are a lot of fun but the third one is my favourite. The Big Show and Neal! Enjoying good wine together! The Big Show as a connoisseur (ha, such a funny name in English, I always feel like I'm writing the French word wrong. Which, ok, I am since I'm writing the English version but you know what I mean. Or not. At least, I get it) and discussing oenology with Neal is absolutely delightful ♥

Still on the subject of TV, though about a show I stopped watching; so I caught an episode of LOST last night (had no idea they were airing it again) and wow. Just, I have no words for how cracked-up that show is. I mean, I know it is insane but I tend to forget? And I'm immediately reminded whenever I catch an episode.

Speaking of, something that amused me to no end is damn spoilery for... ok, let me check... 6x01 & 6x02 apparently. )

Oh, LOST I remember when I was crazy about you (me and the rest of the planet - or, well, the flist). I'll always feel nostalgic about it, I think. Especially as it's thanks to LOST that I met [livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound - that alone would be enough for me to always have a soft spot for that show :-)

And to make this entry 100% fannish. Big Bang (in its many incarnations) is my favourite fannish event of the year - I know it's not nice having favourites but the SPN Big Bang is the one I'm always looking forward to the most - though I'm a fan of Big Bang in general so cannot wait for the Bandom Wave 2 one, and the White Collar one and hee omg the American Idol one!

Anyway, all that to say that I've read the summaries for SPN Big Bang and oooohhh be still my heart! It's totally like Christmas for me. Exciting and absolutely happy making. I can't wait!

I love the 18th of February, because it's the birthday of two of my close friends. Always a reason to rejoice :-) So (again) Happy Birthday to you, sis *hugs & kisses*

Am home sick today so I'm going to spend the day taking it easy and resting. [livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound is going to have such an exciting time with me, isn't she? You're all jealous of her, admit it. Thank god for HDD filled with tv shows :-p

Speaking of, so Jeff Eastin and the White Collar writers are having fun on Twitter and they're taking us all for the ride. They keep teasing us with tidbits of information, script peeks, little spoilers and whatnot and I lap it up!

I hope they'll have the opportunity to do everything they're planning to do, because that's basically everything I want too! Potential spoilers for future episodes ) So in short, I'm loving what those guys have in store for us and cannot wait to see it all on the screen.

I'm in a very Matt Bomer mood these days, which is a good thing as Jem is too. So the program for this impromptu day off is the following: finish watching Traveler and, if the downloads complete one day - which I'm doubting because, omg, it's going sooooo slow!! - continue with some Chuck. Then we'll change the theme and catch some NCIS: LA too, see if she likes it better this time around. Plus, I'll never pass an opportunity to spend some time with G, Sam and the rest of the team :-)

But first, I'll take a little nap because I'm falling asleep as I type...

First, a belated birthday to the lovely [livejournal.com profile] admiralandrea. Sorry for being late, mate - I'm kinda on the verge of losing my head if I'm not paying attention these days but I wouldn't want you to think I forgot about you! *kisses*

Unrelated; oh, White Collar my love for you gets stronger and stronger with each new episode! I'm so happy you're back on my telly *clings* Some flailing inside, which will most certainly contain spoilers )

My flailing seems to have gotten a bit out of control. Ha, if you're a fan of White Collar you'll understand, I'm sure :-)

That episode relaxed me nicely. Something else that made me happy is the little pressie I got from [livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound. A Santa Claus playmobil and a Christmassy button. So cute! Thank you again, mate *kisses* It's funny because before meeting Jem I didn't have any buttons. And now, I have fourteen of them, I think - SPN, Merlin, Avenue Q etc.

Ok and now, I'm gonna sprawl on my couch, snuggle up under the blanket and watch The Mentalist. Lazy is the way to go.
castalie: If you know who made this icon, please tell me so that I can properly credit? Tia (Kinky OT3 / shadowhuntress)
... and you're cold people! Heee, thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] sparky77 for linking to this! Christmas Idol: Andrew: or how I learnt that it was possible to turn Matthew Bomer into a "retarded Clark Kent in a (fugly) Christmas sweater... looking like a loser". Also, what I want to know is when will we get to hear Neal sing in White Collar? Because MB has a pretty voice, melikey!

In other news. I went Christmas tree hunting tonight and came back empty handed *sadface* Mom found hers, though, so it wasn't a complete failure. Plus, if I had found my tree there was no way the two of them would have fit in her car. I even had my doubts about hers, to be honest... I always forget the struggle it is to put said tree in her car - this time was no exception. Mind, we weren't the only ones fighting against the laws of physics on that parking lot and I bet one could make a lot of money selling tickets for that kind of stuff; it's pretty fun to watch.

Anyway, I'll try again on Friday. Fingers crossed that I find it then *fingers crossed*

Still on the subject of Christmas (it's just the beginning, I'm afraid), I've seen some Christmas songs here and there on the flist and I wanted to share one of my favourites. I say "one of my favourites" because I love many, many of them. I usually prefer the classic ones (Bing Crosby, Nate King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald ♥) but this one isn't. Fans of Love Actually will recognise it: Olivia Olson - All I Want for Christmas is You.

If you want to share some, be my guest! Covers are appreciated because I've lost all the ones I had... Which seems to be a habit of mine, come to think of it, because I have the feeling I was already looking for Xmas covers last year. I'm sorry?

So many Snowflake Cookies everywhere, so many happy posts! Such a pretty profile *loves flist* Wonder how many of those cute gifts have been sent overnight :-)

Speaking of gift. So the Big International Project I'd been slaving over for the past months is over now, right? Well, the guys running it have been so happy with our (meaning, another co-worker and me) work that they gave us both gifts. I was thinking we'd get a pen or something of the likes (which I'd have enjoyed, because of the thought) and instead? We got a digital photo frame! How awesome is that?? Tonight, once I'm back home, I'll have a lot of fun picking which photos to put on display. I'll try not to include the cutest and/or hottest pictures of Brendon and Spencer, promise. Like, by accident, one could end up in there, you know? :-p

Last night, I mentioned I'd go and read some White Collar (ha, this is a show which initials I won't ever manage to use, I'm afraid. WC? Not really glamour, is it?) over at [livejournal.com profile] collarkink, didn't I? I found some nice kinks over there, it was fun. Horribly clichéd at times but it was to be expected, imho, and I didn't really mind. Plus, with a show like White Collar where the OT3 (F/M/M) is practically canon I even got some pegging fics! Pegging! Be still my heart ♥

A fic I'd like to see, now, is the story behind Neal's I don't think it's a spoilery quote but just to be sure... ) I don't know, the idea appeals to me a lot :-)

And have you seen the latest ficathon in the SPN fandom? SPN PWP MPreg Kink-a-thon. Dude.
castalie: If you know who made this icon, please tell me so that I can properly credit? Tia (Back to School / babycakesin)
Watched White Collar 1x07 and I have a question. Or two. Spoilers behind the cut )

And the show is on hiatus now, of course. Well, guess I'll have to go and read fics. So far I didn't really get the urge to but I think I'm feeling it now. Next place to visit, [livejournal.com profile] collarkink - with a name like that, how could I resist?

Apart from that and seeing my mom and goddaughter yesterday (she babysat her this weekend) I did a lot of reading. For classes. Because apparently I'm doing a Master's degree now? Backstory: last year, I decided I wanted to go back to school. I thought about it a lot. Thought some more. I talked about it with Cookie who said she'd like to do it too. I decided it was a sign. So in June, I met with some teachers, started with the paperwork, got myself enrolled and went back to school in october. So I'm a grad student now.

I'm still trying to get used to the idea, to be honest :-) Though I'm having a blast. I mean, I'm kinda tired - what with having a full time job, classes, books to read and essays to write for said classes and, you know, having a social and familial life too - but I'm definitely having fun. Just, I'm hoping I'll manage to keep the rhythm, is all. We'll see. At least, I'm trying and not giving up, which is something... or so I keep telling myself.

And I finally can use the icon [livejournal.com profile] babycakesin made for me for for the occasion! ♥
castalie: If you know who made this icon, please tell me so that I can properly credit? Tia (Tv Whore / babycakesin)
I totally found the solution to clear up my schedule and find time to catch up with my shows! Be sick (another cold), cancel Saturday plans et voilà; Supernatural and FlashForward and White Collar have been watched \o/

So I watched SPN 5x10 and spoilery reaction inside )

We'll have to wait till January for the rest, now? SPN, you do kill me all the time! I watched the promo for 5x11 and I'm quite impatient to see what the actual episode will be like *bounces*

I also watched White Collar 1x05 and that show continues to be the cutest thing. I'm completely in love with the Pete-Elizabeth-Neal clan. In some scenes, it feels like Neal is Pete's unruly and annoying little brother, but one that Elizabeth and Peter love anyway, because they know he's good people - they're just waiting for him to be good all the time, is all. some other stuff, which I'm hiding in case it gets spoilery )

And something else I love? How Neal is smaller than Peter! I mean, I always thought the guy was really tall because in Traveler he looked like a giant next to his pals but here he's the one looking up and just, yay! My size difference kink, let me show you it :-)

FlashForward now. It made me so happy! I'd been waiting for that backstory since the show premiere and it was even better than I thought! Spoilers for FF 1x09 )

I know there were other story-lines but er, I sorta focused on theirs, sorry - so this was a 100% biased not!review. It happens.

As for now *checks clock* I have some time before heading off to Paris so I'll catch up with Glee *nodnod*
castalie: If you know who made this icon, please tell me so that I can properly credit? Tia (Automne / coloriages)
The problem with the whole H1N1 flu thing is that if you don't have the H1N1 flu, getting an appointment with your (or any other) doctor is just not possible. I've been sick for about a week and a half now and it started to be really annoying this week so I tried to call my doctor twice but, man, if you don't have a fever? You're not a priority at all. Which, ok, I do understand they're ridiculously overworked (I wouldn't want to be in their shoes) but I feel like crap, dude! What if I have a virus too? That's discrimination. Also? I'm really sorry I'm not feverish! Good thing is, I must look like crap in addition to feeling like crap because New!Boss Man sent me home this afternoon. So instead of finishing at 7.30 PM like I was supposed to, I was home around 3.00 PM \o/ Silver lining and all of that.

And wish me luck because I already missed a lil party last night and I'm hoping I'll feel good enough to enjoy the next two nights; I'm going to see 1984 on Friday night (it's been ages since I went to see a professional play) and on Saturday I'll pull an all-nighter for a Tim Burton Night (Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Sleepy Hollow) in Paris. Not the best of timing but there you go. And it's not as if I could have planned this mutant of a nightmarish cold. From hell.

Changing the subject. Catching up with my shows has become but a sweet utopia these days so I gave up on the idea of trying to do it; I'll catch up when I'll catch up - maybe during Christmas break? Still, I did manage to watch the first two episodes of White Collar.

It was nice. I mean, the plot has zero originality, but the characters are definitely endearing. I'm not even sure I can pick a favourite character between Neal, Peter and Elizabeth, nor can I really decide which relationship I enjoy the most, Peter-Neal or Elizabeth/Peter. One thing is sure, between those characters and those dynamics, I'm definitely having fun!
